I read that this is also only for PAST DUE ACCOUNTS which is F’d up! I’ve been struggling to pay mine for 10+ years so that I can keep my credit score high and now I’m punished for it ! I’m still praying that I get a letter
@@bossupathomewithtequila Oh wow that's cool.. Finally get some justice for all the people. Is that where you went? I went to Art Institute though, not sure if it's the same thing..
It's about time. My time at the Art Institute was a joke. Luckily I only filed for an Associate degree to see what the experience was like. I ended up learning more about the photo and graphic design programs more than the web degree I initially enrolled for. Only 2 decent teachers worked at my campus, the rest were basically people who had little experience with the curriculum and tried to teach everyone through UA-cam. What a waste.
From the future...my federal loans were forgiven/repaid (went to ITT Tech). My Peaks Loans were forgiven too, which were Private Loans. Navient needs to stop half assing this and forgive the Private Loans. Predatory loans are just that. I dont care what they decide to call it (Private, Federal, Subsidized, Circumcised, etc)
I just found on my Navient account that they consolidated my federal student loans into two private student loans with a variable rate! WTH! I had no idea How can I get rid of them??
I just came upon this video. I didn't have my private student loans with Navient wiped out for my school, The Art Institutes. Did I miss something? Now that my Federal student loan is being wiped out for this school, I'm wondering what is going to happen for the private student loan. So far, I've seen nothing, and this video is over a year old.
True, thankfully they're dealing with these Federal loans. However, there's private loans that stems from going to these schools. Which were taken because of the same false promises made. The private student loans certainly need to be addressed as well.
Omg I can’t wait!! I have a private loan through Sallie Mae aka navient through to the art institute and two federal loans!! I thought you were joking and I jumped up and had to read lol
Awesome Now I'm waiting for the smack down on ECMC collections practices They are re-aging and playing with payment patterns on the CBR hold the accounts in delinquency status
I am an Art Institute of Pittsburgh graduate, attended 2007-2013. I have past due defaulted loans that fall into this category. In regard to the lawsuit itself, is there anything that I need to due to become part of it? Or does my having been a student with applicable loans automatically include me? I just want to be as proactive as possible.
I received an email a few months ago about my loan being forgiven from attending ITT Technical institute between 2007 and 2009. It's going to take some time to dismiss the loans and have the loans removed off my credit when I called to verify if it was true.
This is a lot of awesome information but I feel like I am part of this but I also feel like perhaps I'm not that lucky. To wait 6 months to know unless I should be a little smarter I don't really know. I've been paying a private loan from Sallie Mae from attending the Paul Mitchell school Atlanta in 2007 for a very long time clearly but I don't have a clue but lots of prayers. Thank you for sharing nonetheless
I went to that shady school and Navient moved my loan to Aidvantage. Hopefully BD forgives it because I was really surprised to see it still there with everything that has happened with them
I just applied for student loan consolidation in order to be able to be under the Department of Education so that I would eligible for any blanket loan forgiveness and loan pause passed by the Biden Administration. Navient owned my federal loans commercially. Would I still get a check in the mail or have my loans wiped out under this lawsuit?
on CNN "Additionally, Navient must fully cancel the remaining balances of private loans borrowed by about 66,000 students, totaling $1.7 billion. Those loans were largely made between 2002 and 2010". Not sure if it ONLY applies to that range, but from the article those dates are for sure part of the filing.
*Navient is discharging private student loans for veterans at the 100% va disability rate. The only problem is that they are currently only servicing loans- not lending them. Loan lenders are so secretive regarding who their servicer(s) maybe that any 100% vets would have to hit the lottery to end up with them as their loan servicer. After months of digging & research there is zero Information via internet, about what lenders work with Navient as their servicer. And calling into various servicers or lenders; will get you entangled in the most passive aggressive & unfriendly conversation with representatives. They will refuse to answer any questions as if they're the mob and you're the FBI. If anyone has excess info consider youtube content or a post on reddit. To 100% Vets: you can receive both federal and private student loans simultaneously.*
I went to Purdue University but due to my circumstances I got pushed into subprime private loan from Navient/Sallie Mae in duration of 2002-2014, they never offered income driven payments, conducted loan shark alike practices, would i still be qualified for this debt cancellation?

Have you heard anything new about the private loans?
Omg I can’t wait!! I have a private loan through Sallie Mae aka navient through to the art institute and two federal loans!! I thought you were joking and I jumped up and had to read lol
Are you behind in payments at least 7 months?
I owe 90 something and only had a total of like 4k cancelled don’t get too excited.
does anyone know if you went to either school but have a different loan provider, if the student loans will be wiped out as well?
Navient didnt wipe out anything for my itt tech loan. They transfer or sold the loan to someone else to collect. All BS

I called them and they said they don’t know anything about it
How do you qualify for the navient forgiveness? If you receive the check, does that mean your debt will be forgiven?
Im here in June 2024. Attended The Art Institute of Ft Lauderdale from 2003-2007 and have private loans with Navient. I never received anything 🤔

What’s the update?
I went to that shady school and Navient moved my loan to Aidvantage. Hopefully BD forgives it because I was really surprised to see it still there with everything that has happened with them
yeah Aidvantage is the department of education so it still qualifies
I went to the Art Insitute and had Sallie Mae. But I thought that was federal loans not private.
I'm curious if I will be included I this navient held my loan adm sold it to great lakes how will that work I attended ITT Tech
Had anyone had this problem where you refinance your private student loan and they can't discharge it because you satisfied your payment?

For defaulted private student loans that meet the age, school, state requirements
Does that include American Academy of Art institute??
Is this only for charged off loans to Ai and other for profit schools? My loans have doubled after 10 years of paying them.
What if you live in Texas? Are their states that don’t get this forgiveness?

Yeah it was like less than 4k in ‘wiped out’ loans out of the total of 90k I owe. So it was bullshit.
Do you/we know exactly what years of attendance or which locations qualify?
No. They haven't provided those details.
