    I hit the jackpot with the guitar player from my favorite band (Kanami Tono - BAND-MAID) playing PRS guitar's and when I tried one it actually was the perfect brand for me.
    3 Years later and I've tried basically every guitar in my local Guitar Center and to this day the best guitars I've played in that store was a PRS SE Custom 24, a PRS CE Custom 24 and a PRS Core Paul's Guitar.

    I am glad you mentioned the necks. At this point, that is how I choose a guitar for purchase.
    I enjoy Jackson speed necks, but want to try the LTD extra thin U. I had an old Epiphone Prophecy (the 2000s model with the EMG 81-85 array) and it had my favorite neck - Slim D taper. Hoping the LTD Custom 1987 M-1 feels close to that.

      @jasonstallworth  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, the neck is the biggest thing for me. I prefer my Ibanez RG wizard neck while others prefer the larger, more rounded necks. It's all about finding what fits your hands the best.

    I bought a Fender Telecaster Player series polar white with pau ferro fretboard. I love its simplicity. I also have an ESP Ltd SC-207 Stephan Carpenter 7 string. Mainly bought it because I enjoy the Deftones. Great video! Rock on and keep it metal.

    Awesome video really enjoyed the details of every guitar I really enjoy jackson guitars I have 3. 2 has the floyd rose but I also love ibanez as well. But I personally don't like finished guitar necks but if I feel like the frets and the fret board is smooth I will lightly sand down the finished neck (don't recommend if you have never sanded before) to make it smoother but that's my honest opinion but if you are like me it's better to find a maple wood neck. Most Jackson's especially the x or js series they have more of flat neck than thicker and something else to keep I mind too is that some have what they call jumbo frets so the fret space is larger than normal. Funny story though is that I bought my first jumbo fret jackson js32 to be exact and I played it for like 2 or 3 weeks straight and went and played my ibanez and my other jackson which had normal frets and it felt super odd lol. Something else to keep in mind as well if you play something new and have a new adjustment and go back to the old style it will feel different whether it's just a brand difference or like me the jumbo fret different which honestly I prefer jumbos for shredding as it's easier to hit the higher notes with your fingers. Not so much with clean sounds as you are playing chords.

    I just played a PRS in Ocala Thursday and I like them better than Gibsons, I've always loved strats and teles. Ain't broke don't fix is what I say too. But a Fender strat was my first real guitar and a Fender twin reverb my first real amp... Hey, it made my mom yell "turn it down, you're making my head thump".... Mission accomplished?

    That 8-string is sexy as hell. I own a 7-string Jackson and I love it to death. I agree with everything you guys said. I love Strats too and I prefer them over Gibson/Epiphone. My fav brands are Fender, Jackson, and Ibanez. However, the 8-string guitar is my limit. I think that anything lower just sounds like a bass at that point. Then again, some players with the right setup can make it sound nice. I like down tuning my 7-string. As I can get pretty close to an 8-string sound. Man, I love guitars. Thanks for sharing you guys.

      Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I prefer the strat styles, too. And my Ibanez RG1570 gets played the most.
      I still have my ESP 7 string and even recorded an album and some projects for others with it. But it just never felt like 'home' if that makes sense.

    Most of us have to buy guitars blindly because they are no shops nearby or theyre stock is very limited. If you are in that situation Ibanez jems are very solid choice.

    Jason I was at the store today, and trying Custom Shop SG '61 Reissue VOS... So expensive... :D What do you think about them? Would they be suitable for Ibanez kind of shredding? :P Because I almost never seen someone plays solos on a SG like they do on Ibanez/ESP's...

      @TheBoss0Time I think you make any guitar work for rock and metal. For me, it’s a matter how of personal preference. Not so much of the style of music, but more so the feel and playability. Some love this style, some don’t

    You only touched on the best advice for beginners, buy something you want to pick up. Then play loads of guitars and discover what feels good to you. Once you know this but the best quality good feeling guitar you can afford. Pick ups can be changed but your stuck with a neck profile
