"Due to gender roles in heterosexual relationships, in our society, life, the world, culture, reality, whatever you want to call it, men are usually expected to take the lead and initiate romantic/sexual relationships. This requires a certain amount of confidence and social skills, social dynamics and social intelligence, conversation ability and human interaction ability, certain social behaviors, which can be very difficult to develop for those who've faced a lot of social isolation and rejection for many years, or have a condition that affects their ability to socialize, such as autism, etc. People who fail to develop these traits due to lack of positive experiences, are much less able to compete with their peers for romantic/sexual relationships. As said before, men being generally expected to initiate and escalate, the lack of these traits affects their ability to find and attract a romantic/sexual partner, or to get into a relationship, to a much larger degree than it does for women." i thought that was a very powerful and valid post, perfectly worded.
@@YJ-tf2hpI don’t need to imagine. I have lived it for 21 years. Sometimes it just gets depressing, especially since it’s a valid need I have. It’s hard not to fall into a victim mentality but what else can you do? At some point you just feel defeated.
I'm 66 years old and have never met a neurotypical person with the capacity to understand ASD. IMO the best you can hope for is meeting someone who accepts you and tries hard to respect your accommodations. It's very difficult, so don't let it get you down. Keep trying!
Hi there My son is 20 years old and he has an Asperger Syndrome. It took me a long time to understand him, mainly by reading life stories of people on Spectrum, but I can tell you I can understand him like no body else. Before that I would usually use medical terms and read medical reports about Autism and that’s a bit harder to apply in life situations… So I believe if someone who loves you will try to make as many steps to start to understand you… Wish everyone health and happiness🌸🌸
The perspective we have is the only one we have, I was diagnosed with Asperger's since age 13 and I have fought it since but i'm currently 32 and my resistance has only caused conflict among my peers. I have a hard time trying to embrace the ignorant "sheeple" hive minded people when I know What they're saying is regurgitated and not original, however people are attracted to what is familiar to them and repelled by new concepts.
To be perfectly honest I feel like my relationships with neurotypical people have gone better than ones with autism. But this is just my personal preference.
Don't know if I can date another person on the spectrum. I enjoy dating neurotypicals because I guess I just like the challenge, doesn't come easy but it has it's rewards. I find the best way to go about dating is to just be direct and honest. Picking up or communicating social cues isn't our biggest strength but telling people what's really on my mind and at times not having a filter can help me let people understand me better. If I directly tell someone I fancy them while risky because 50% of the time you risk getting rejected but people will respect you whether they feel the same or not they will give you props.
The one thing I noticed in regards to dating, is that when you have autistic spectrum or Asperger's qualities in your personality, some people do take advantage of that. I just got out of a 6 year relationship with a possible NPD person and I literally had no idea there was anything weird going on beyond my back but here I am. I was always told I was innocent and genuine (and sometimes stupid and naive) or whatever. Looking back, I did do alot of really awkward things when I was trying to hit on my last gf who finally said yes eventually when she realized other girls thought I was attractive. This can all be seen as a weakness though, or a way you can be taken advantage of. Just saying. Be careful I guess. That's all
This is honestly true. My Dad is probably on the spectrum and my mom actually abused me for years and he didn’t catch on until way later. Now that I’m older he feels really guilty about it and it causes tension and I used to feel mad at him for doing nothing, but the more I learn about him, the more I realize that he probably actually had no idea, because he can be oblivious to certain things. I wish he wouldn’t feel guilty and I feel bad for being angry with him for “turning a blind eye” because I realize he might genuinely not have had any clue. I have ADHD and am a bit like that as well (not as much as my Dad) and even though I consider myself to be a social person I miss cues too and sometimes am overly trusting of people because I zone out all the time and just believe that everyone else must know what’s going on. As neurodivergent people we have to be as kind and patient to ourselves as we can. Other people might feel like we are intentionally missing something but we are doing our best.
Solid advice! I've been taken advantage of many times. Over the years, I've leaned to withhold trust until people have earned it - which can take years.

Hey! Love your videos, especially ones on any overlap with ADHD :) I was diagnosed with ADHD last year but I’m also suspecting some overlap with mild ASD. I’m looking into screening but it’s been so dang hard to get into people lol My question is: Would you be open to making a video further exploring overlap and one Vs the other? Especially in the question of: So many ASD symptoms which i identify with can so easily be argued as just being ADHD (or also anxiety disorder) In your experience, have you found one having dominance over the other when knowing what’s your ASD or ADHD acting out? Are there ASD symptoms (especially in girls) which go undetected and get diagnosed as ADHD and often overlook it being ASD? You’ve definitely touched on them in your videos (and I’m hoping I haven’t missed one haha please link me if I have) but have been hunting for this understanding everywhere yet keep bumping into walls of black or white - R
Examples: What could determine an ADHD meltdown Vs ASD Meltdown Vs Overlap? When your ADHD is being treated - what symptoms of ASD could be left undiagnosed but possibly be seen as just the ADHD medication not at the right dose or med? (People tell me I make eye contact so I can’t be ASD yet when I pay enough attention to myself with people I notice I’m looking almost in their eyes but usually looking at something around then - like glasses or a drooping eyelid) And of course - battling the stigma of asd vs adhd

Also, I highly recommend Todd Valentine, highly highly, he’s a great guy and changed my life
They are either broken links or there is nobody within the entire country on the site :( 2nd one I don't know but I presume since it's paid they'll probably be nobody on it for them to match us with. I don't know about the mobile one yet though it looks more promising but for some reason they mostly appear to be "taken" and not single?
Maybe start making friends with people you would potentially date so you get practice in communication so it's not hard when you are ready. I have an autistic son and that's what I say to him and it's working for him. He's 19 too.
I have a really cool laptop, but it broke a long time ago and I never got it fixed. I would be glued to it, but it's ok now I'm just glued to my phone! Lol. I'M just sick of dating apps, but I will try at least one of the ones for Autism. Cuz I might have Autism, and I could tell that I might have it because I'm very similar to my son with almost everything. I'm just glad he doesn't have depression like me.... sometimes I feel so lost. I just need a partner because this lonely feeling kinda sucks.

Phone all the way, it's just way more handy and you can check anything on the go.

Iv used hiki before. The nearest match is about 90 miles away frome me.

No laptop because I have a PC I use for gaming, but most of my social media things are done through my phone.
Yeah it’s super popular
Dan you seem much calmer 😳 how's the medication going?
Thanks!! Ye medication going well!! Thank you so much for the comment!
I'm a phone person mainly but there are certain things that a laptop is better suited for.
This helps so much thanks Dan!

I am a computer/phone user i kinda bounce between them an I use hiki tho I think it’s very young app in terms of how long it’s been around..i have a few complaints about the app Hiki but I’ve met some nice people on there at the same time.
Can't watch because the bright lights in the background are too distracting for me. Seems like an odd choice for on a channel supporting ASD.
I highly recommend Real Social Dynamics. You should boot camp or seminar, or watch their videos online. RSD changed my life, not only have I been able to have hook ups, STRs and LTRs with awesome girls whenever I want, they’ve helped me make more money, build businesses that I’m passionate about, and eliminate anxiety and limiting beliefs. Also, I highly recommend Todd Valentine, highly highly, he’s a great guy and changed my life
I like your videos are very educational I am autistic myself
Oh hey dude thank you so much!! Make sure you are subscribed and have the notifications turned on :).
They are either broken links or there is nobody within the entire country on the site :( 2nd one I don't know but I presume since it's paid they'll probably be nobody on it for them to match us with.
I don't know about the mobile one yet though it looks more promising but for some reason they mostly appear to be "taken" and not single?
I more of a mobile user but I love using a laptop too 💻
Yeah I feel they have their certain uses. Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).

I'm afraid to be alone I know I'm 19 but I want to wait until I'm twenty-five
Why 25?
@@louis2366 I don't know why 25

Most of these dating sites require a subscription. Curious would you recommend trying locals groups on Facebook?
As long as you check reviews for the groups so they are legitimate. Thank you so much for the comment! Please subscribe to my channel to see more videos from me :).
