Now this is when Emily being mad works, it will not work if she was like bossy and always shouts at other engines, but if she was mad when the other engines does shit and stuff, then it would 100% work. Also love the motherly figure that she has here too.
She actually got mad at Donald and Douglas in the episode "Emily in the middle" after a piece of coal turned into a giant snowball that knocked her off the rails. And when Donald and Douglas kept blaming eachother, she blew her whistle very loudly and started shouting at them
@@Industrial_Engines_official No, he's right. Just putting up an example. Also, the CGI series continues from the model series in the same show and references some classic episode events thus same canon despite differences.
"I am not rolling my eyes! This is rolling my eyes! (begins to spin them around) See? Oh that made me dizzy." XD! Now this is how HiT era Emily should've been instead of being this typical bossy type character. This is well thought out and her and Thomas' heartfelt talk is very wholesome. Indeed, there are some steam engines who can be just as bad as diesels, even our main heroes too on this side of the conflict.
There's the Emily we know and love in Series 7 with that stern personality shown since "Salty's Story Tale", one of the few rare examples of mixing Michael Brandon's narration with Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell's music!

Fantastic video. This is tied as my favourite of the Re-Shorts along side “All Work and No Railway.” I like Emily’s characterisation in this rewrite. This is what they should of written her in the official movie. I also like that you gave her a Scottish accent like she had in the UK.
What I love about this is how Emily's S8 personality works in helping Thomas to understand what he has done. Emily being cross and scolding Thomas for his actions helps to make the scene work. This really could have worked in the Special :D .
Boco and Daisy are just sitting on a sideline thinking 'You know, WE can help, right?' But nice talk with Emily and Thomas, and I love the wind rushing throughout. Really helps build the atmosphere.
I like Emily in the HiT Era for the most part, but this is so much better. It’s a good thing that I asked for a wooden Emily for Christmas, so I can do a remake of this lovely short. I genuinely can’t wait to see what the next short is like.
You managed to bring out the best qualities of Emily in this little scene. Emily can often be frank, but still be kind and understanding- like a big sister figure to Thomas. Brilliant work on this reimagining!
Combining Emily's S7 and HiT era personas makes for the best portrayal of her character, in my opinion. It also works with her basis; the Stirling Singles were express engines and Emily was built in 1895, making her 1 year older than Edward. Combine the pride and confidence of an important express engine like Gordon with the wisdom and experience of an Edward, and you've got a very unique character. Really liked your "Calling All Engines!" rewrite and these clips are a lot of fun. It's too bad the show's ownership couldn't be transferred to Thomas and Friends UA-camrs; the show's quality would instantly improve LOL

This is undoubtedly the best short for me! 10/10! This is how you make Emily IN character. And if you ask me, Emily’s bossy behavior isn’t really frustrating in my opinion.

Hate to be brutally honest here but Your take on scene with Thomas and Emily is slightly better than how the original handled it. Emily is depicted perfectly in this short. Her being bossy and stern comes from the engines doing stupid shit. But the only the problem that frustrates me just like some people’s fan content, is Thomas regressing as a character by going back to his S1 personality as a regressed child. Also why does he have one of Percy’s traits of questioning words with high vocabulary? This is just my opinion. This is your take and l have no right to dictate what you do. Decent job by the way.
