Scafell Pike the Long Way - From Great Langdale : 3D Aerial Fly-Through of the Route. Circular Walk

A 3D aerial fly-though of one of the longer routes up Scafell Pike, from the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel in the Great Langdale Valley. The route takes in 5 wainwright fells : Bowfell, Esk Pike, Scafell Pike, Great End and Rossett Pike. This is a long and steep walk, probably the longest walk that I would attempt in a single day but it is well worth the effort as it takes in some the of the very best mountain scenery on offer in the Lake District.

Is this a popular route that a lot of people take and also how do you navigate if you have bever done it before?

Hi Danni. It’s not a common way to climb Scafell Pike but it’s s common path for other fells. Regarding navigation, if you can’t read a map and compass or use a GPS to navigate then you really shouldn’t be in the fells. Mountain rescue get thoroughly fed up of being called to people who get lost and endanger themselves through lack of basic knowledge.
