Before and After: Cleaning our Chocolate Enrober (2019)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 чер 2019
- You've been asking for it, so we made it! Craig got video of Steve meticulously cleaning the enrober, piece by piece. Some parts are hard to hear due to the water, but over overall seeing how the enrober looked before, compared to how it looks after is beyond satisfying! With or without chocolate on it, the enrober is a sight to see!

I have the utmost respect for Steve's work ethic! He works all week and then works his off day to clean the equipment.
Me: I hate having to wash up dishes every day
Also me: let's watch a man wash up for 30 minutes
I wash dishes one times a week 😅😅
LOL
I'd much rather watch a man wash the dishes than wash them myself!! 😄😅😂😉
Thanks for the
I currently have dishes in my sink.
The dishes will be staying there for now.
Did I really just watch a 30 minute cleaning video? Yes, yes I did. Did I enjoy it? Yes, I very much did. Thanks!
You and a few others lol
Lol I watched it too. 😂I enjoyed it
Fun fact, that metal ring is used to keep the water spigot on. You use it to squeeze the trigger and pull it down on the hose so you don't tire out you hand from holding it forever. I used to work a bit in kitchens, hence why I know. Saved my hand COUNTLESS hours of being sore from cramping! I hope this helps somehow!🤗
Oh! Thanks I needed that info!
The more you know 🌈🌠
@@HerculesCandy For sure!!
@@kathleenh3975 you work with food and beverage as well?
Spigot
Just watched Steve wash an enrober for 30+ mins.
What is my life? 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣you are not alone
Its a good life...that was fun...😀
@Buck Spammhammer LOl 😂 😂
I almost did. I skipped forward.
You and 143,000 others lol
Its really satisfying seeing it go from all chocolatey to clean.
I know right! But it would be more satisfying, if I clean it myself. Seriously! I realy want to clean it 😆
@@rosie4696 seriously not siriusly
I just take my enrober down the street to the Enrober Wash. They do a good job and hang one of those little tree air fresheners on it when they're done.
LOL LOL LOL
😂
😂😂😂
Brilliant! haha
hmm I wonder if one of those self car washes would have hot enough water to pressure wash it clean
Watching this during my last day of senior year of high school!!!
same, same! im sooo hyped for graduation!
Congrats! And happy last day!
Congrats on your graduation, and good luck in your future endeavors!! 👍👍
OML SAME HAHAHAHA
Happy a nice summer (both of you)
Watched this while washing my own dishes. Thanks for keeping me company at the sink, Steve and Craig!
The ring actually holds the handle down so you don’t have to keep constant pressure from your hand to the handle! Besides being a hook to hang the nozzle! Tough on your hands! Pained me to see chocolate go down the drain LOL
Top Tip!
yeah me too ... I would spend all sunday in there cleaning it by hand no problems ... paid for by the chocolate that is on it ... then once i have had my fill wash the last bit clean and finish it off with the sanitizer ... no problems ;)
Excellent! I’m a cleaning junkie and totally enjoyed seeing how you cleaned this machine! 👍🏻
Who knew cleaning a enrober could be so mesmerizing! Nobody can say your not thorough and sanitary! Great job Steve! Great video!
I love when Terry says "that's all I have to say about that" lol
I pretty much love it when Terry says anything....
@@annmariegugliemino5009 I second that.
it is funny how health deals with in house consumption and agriculture deals with out of house ... makes room for so many things to go wrong like that ... sure a farm has to be clean in a certain way but food needs to be cleaned in another way and even more stringently than raw ingredients .... perhaps this is why we get recalls on various items for resale like canned foods or bagged veggies etc ... they are living up to a different less stringent need than is actually required under health ministeries
I don’t know why, but I love watching how they clean everything. It’s a gloomy, rainy day, so it’s time watch a video on my favorite candy making family.
So, I appreciate these types of videos, having owned several food shops & bakeries--this is awesome, it's real! Thank you for sharing...have an awesome day out there! Rich & Dawn in MN :)
Thanks for watching you two!
@@HerculesCandy We are so glad to see true "artisan" small companies left! We also watch Craig's channel--I am vegan, my husband is mostly a vegetarian...we have learned a lot from No-egg Craig and Vegan Zombie...LOVE the channels! Have a great day out there! :)

Ann marie Gugliemino Me too!! When I’m having a bad day, I’ll just hop onto UA-cam and watch a few videos from these guys and I instantly feel better. Their content is wholesome, positive, family orientated and just satisfying to watch! So I totally get it❤️
@@tiatokkesdal1745 I agree with you both, we all need to be more like this family.
A lady I worked with prided herself on making chocolates and wanted to sell them. She made a couple of us a box of her chocolates and they tasted like hand soap! Most discussing thing I've ever eaten! Good for you for being careful with your equipment! 🤗🤗🤗🤗 lovely and good work!!,!
Kathy Kaylor should have told her so she could correct it. Yuck...
We did.
Thank you. Been wanting to see this for yonks. Not disappointed. Great job, love the music and the scanning. Perfect.

Most people would find this boring but there is something so satisfying about watching anything get cleaned and then add a man doing it is fantastic. I gotta get one of those spray nozzles on my kitchen taps . Triple sinks aswell , well I am in cleaning heaven ,thanks guys xoxox
You and 142,000 others loved this cleaning video.
Made me laugh. I had the closed captioning on in the beginning to hear what Steve was saying when using the hair dryer. It kept reading [applause], [applause], [applause] thinking the hair dryer was people cheering. Haha
Yeah, the captions are sometimes almost as entertaining as the videos themselves!
😂
Wait a sec, there’s closed captioning? Mind blown. How? Where?
@@kikkibibi UA-cam has auto generated cc for all videos but they're not very good. It's one of the settings in that upper righthand corner of any video.
LOL I mean people probably were silently applauding at home.
One of my favorite videos so far!
I love seeing dirty things get cleaned
Thanks for taking the time to make this vidya, Craig. It was very satisfying especially the music at the end:)
It is bizarre how satisfying it is to watch this...for 30 minutes!
You and 142,000 couldn't turn or look away.
The music at the end after it is all clean just killed me. You guys are great. :)
Thanks!
You have no idea how long I've been wanting to see this video exactly! THANK YOU!!!
Wow! Candy making looks like alot of hard and time consuming fun work. The clean up also. Y'all are awesome
Im impressed that someone besides me still has that hair dryer!!! I love that thing!!
Great job. The sound of the water almost made me fall asleep 5 hours earlier than I usually do. Good thing I skipped ahead. I'm obsessed with that machine.
Crazy so many people wanted to see this!

Who knew it would be so fascinating to watch someone else clean?
These guys, that's who lol
Just wanted to say thank you so much for putting so much effort into your videos. It is so much fun to watch and I have a small channel of my own and you inspired me so much. Thank you so much again.
Great video! I always wondered how you guys cleaned the enrober.
I didn't have the patience to watch all of it. How often is it cleaned?
Christiane Stadelmann they clean it a couple times a year
Art with Elaine Merci
safe guess ... when the build up causes more problems than are needed and a good clean would fix them at the cost of that build up .... me I would volunteer to clean the build up off weekly ... and get my chocolate fill up at the same time ... ok sure a good wash after is still needed BUT as little chocolate would be wasted as possible :)
.
added bonus everyone ends up happy
I used to get the same satisfaction when cleaning the glazing table and rack at the donut shop I managed.
I love having the satisfaction of seeing something ALMOST factory clean again! Great video, like always!!
With OSHA or other regulations for businesses, I knew this type of stuff had to be done but always wondered how you cleaned items within Hercules and also wonder how often. It must be tough to go through a regular cleaning process like this only to see the chocolate starting it all over again. How neat that the materials used in the machine help make cleaning easier/faster than if compatibility had not been thought about when they created the enrober. Looking forward to more cleaning projects. Copper kettle is next on my wish list.
your dad is sporting that OG casio digital watch... my dad has the exact same one! lol
Yeah my granddad, had the same one too! I think it's an old guy thing!!
Old habits die hard! My dad has the same one! :)
I was thinking the same thing! I bought a Casio watch for myself because my dad had one just like this when I was growing up :)

What a job. I knew how the switch of the chocolate was done but never seen this before. Well done. It looked brand new afterwards. 😉 👍 💕
Hi Sandra! 👋😄 Remember before they had an enrober? Back when the NEATure walk videos were quoted all the time! How neat is that?

Anyone who watched this at normal speed, hats off to you. If you don't watch it on 2x you are nuts
that was satisfying on so may levels - i particularly like the poignant music at the end - like - its never going to be this clean ..... till next time - sigh xxxxx
Kate, I love your videos of when you try replicating hercules' candies.....When will you do another??

So someone asked about cleaning the enrober lol there comes a time when ya just have to trust the Steve. Lot of work and wasted cholate to put someone's mind at ease. You're a good guy Steve 😉 I worked in a candy factory and wish it had been as clean as this kitchen.
Now that we have a video of cleaning the enrober, all we need is a video of clean up after the day is done 😂😂
We just clean up as we go so at the end of the day it's very short and different every night depending on what we do last
Hercules Candy OML YOU REPLIED! I just remembered that it was a cute joke that everyone wanted to see clean up lol. I the whole fam so much, would love to come down their sometime. Love you guys❤️

That was a sweet video 🤗👍👍🌺 thanks for posting it. 😁
I love watching your channel(s)! Always entertaining, one of my favorites will forever be the one where you hit 100k subscribers. Love your family and all of the people you've gathered along the way :)
Next up will be a 500k livestream special, won't be long now.
With the ribbon candy; as well as the amazing new PB and J ribbon candy you should make toffee filled apple ribbon candy. Or chocolate filled orange ribbon candy! I will buy the whole batch!!
They have since done both! Although it was caramel filled apple ribbon candy but close enough.
Wow, it looks like it did the day you took it down to the basement!!
I can imagine some people wonder why you don't use soap. I know it's because of (1) you have that sanitizer you spray it with & (2) all it would take is a tiny bit of soap that didn't rinse off properly to ruin all of the chocolate
I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t this be easier with a PASTRY BAG?!?! 😂🤣😂🤣
Mom just got in her car. She said she's coming for you, Gail.
I live in SW Florida. Tell her to bring chocolate and a swimsuit. Hopefully by the time she gets here she’ll be calmed down.
I’ll have to be honest and admit that I rarely use them to clean my enrober anymore. 😁
By the way, my neighbor’s son came to visit last week and he mentioned he lives in Syracuse. I asked them if they knew about Hercules. Turns out, they live close (Loma Ave) and have bought candy from you guys lotsa times! They now understand that they are never to make the trek here again without bringing ribbon candies, snack clubs and chocolates. I am vegan but I’m not stupid!😁

i found myself just sat here with my mouth open in a trance when steve was scraping the choc off the wheel mmm
I was wondering how it was cleaned I know now...
I used to work in an institution kitchen and being wet every day was nothing for me for thirty years.
Endless washing dishes and pans.
So it’s nice to see a wonderful cleaning being done.
My OCD loved and hated every minute of this lol.
I love watching you guys work so relaxing
I wonder if a steam cleaner would work for that without the splashing ??? :)
Went to the store yesterday, it was great! My 80 year old parents had a blast. Thank you!
They love visitors.

Your parents should adopt me, I'd fit in so perfectly. I love candy and I'm a little weird. I was up til 4am binge watching this channel, I might place an order today
If you place an order I can guarantee that we'll consider adopting you. Deal?
@@HerculesCandy I placed my order this morning! Now I have to learn how to spell and pronounce my new last name! And I talked to terri today, I'm the fan girl that freaked out when she called me lol
Also a Heat Gun gets a lot hotter than blow dryer. Home Depot, painters use to remove paint works.
Who knew chocolate was so sneaky about getting everywhere? All sparkly clean and ready for more chocolate enrobing.
You should do a video where you try all the things recommended in UA-cam comments that you already know don't work. Just prove us wrong once and for all. 😁
Craig, thanks for a great video, Steve i truly enjoyed watching you clean the off all that chocolate! Loved the ending with music!
Hercules candy + satisfying cleaning video = wonderful! 😊
Question: Do you use food safe lubricant on moving parts? Just curious.
This should be one of those.. INSANELY SATISFYING PRESSURE WASHING VIDEOS!!!
Now I know how it's done😁
great video as always! I also have a question about the youtube videos. Is the money made from these videos put right back into the store for chocolate and other things that help make the candy?
I think it helps to support Craig who is the company's social media guy. He deserves an income for all of the work he does and his efforts have expanded the business quite a bit.
@@sophieargent1430 Craig does get a wage from this channel and his own channel No Egg Craig, anything left goes into growing the business, like saving for another enrober and a bigger store.
I wash dishes for a living and it's the single most important factor in any kitchen, hence why i love it! I could easily teach this man how to angle dishes in your left hand and how to firmly adjust the pressure with his right hand on the sprayer!
I know what sanitizer you use. I used it on toys in my day care .Its about the best to be had. But I'm not going to tell. Great job Steve.
I have the same enrober and beside myself and the lack of "instructions" that it came with....had to learn all the small adjustments by guessing! I do love the machine- it's no Hilliard but it's def a work horse that is tough to wear out! Space saver too!
Walmart or home Depot sell back splashes that just stick to the wall and are easily replaceable if they get too dirty.
Or you could just put actual tile back there. Bigger investment but more long term. Might I suggest a Hercules logo or tie dye.
I decided to go off sugar for the month of June. (really...who does that?) Watching this was torture.
Why am I so entertained?
How did you manage in the basement with that tiny sink? Did you have to take the pieces upstairs or outside?
Well remember that when they were in the basement they didn’t have nearly as many big equipment pieces. Like they used to chocolate cover everything by hand before
@@shelbybaby1642 they had the enrober in the basement though. and how many more big equipment things have they gotten?
A lot easier to clean it in this sink than in the hand sink
Just a little bit
How on earth did you clean that big beast at the old place?!
Josh B I don’t remember seeing this machine in the old place 🤔 maybe they used to do the whole chocolate process all by hand
Yes, they had it in the basement at the house. But when they cleaned it, they just scraped it and switched chocolates.
Saw the title and thought, "this is a job for a hair dryer." Hit play and was rewarded! Love you guys! Hope to visit from Ohio soon!
ive been asking for this video for sooo long!!! good job!
I'm glad we didn't disappoint
Amazing video! I did want to see it switched on again at the end :)
Great video👍👍 Love Steve’s spraying disinfectant form👍👍 Thanks for sharing😊😊
This reminds me of washing my muddy car, lol.
Aw whaaat you had to show the machine being turned back on for the first time and getting messy again
I didn't even think of that 😭
The jingly ring thing on the nozzle is to hold it open when you use it like this. All that squeezing can make your hand ache.
Great Video Craig~~that was hard work for your dad. I just placed a order. I called it in. So I would get it right by ordering a cold pack. Ha
There is something so satisfying about watching Steve clean the enrobing machine.
Loved the cleaning just a quick question have been catching up with all the other streams you have done but not found if you make coffee creams chocolates they have removed them from the quality street tubs that we get here in England love to all the family

Enrobed enrober! I always thought the wheel was metal but it looks like ceramic. 😃😃😃
Wow, I never thot about an enrober cleaning video, but that was nice to watch. I totally recognize that jingly noise the sprayer made as I use one at work now and again.
Good job Craig. 👍
Makes me wonder the struggle it must have been to get this clean when they worked in the basement
We were in the splash zone for this one
Feels bitter sweet to turn it back on... 😷
This is the most satisfying video!! I love cleaning and watching things being cleaned. The sprayer reminds me of pressure washing. Which is my favorite thing to do
I've always wondered this how the heck they do it. Glad I found this video.
You should upload more these videos are literally what I fall asleep to every night 😂😩👌🏽
They can't do too many because the internet orders go through the roof and they can keep up, but they have hired somebody new so once they are trained, then there should be more.
Watching this during my second to last day of sophomore year. Can’t wait for summer
I hope you have a nice summer.
I would just assume plant the enrober track over a trash bag and scrub it with a wire brush or a brush with stiff nylon bristles. It would knock most of the chocolate off faster. Then I would spray it with the hot water to get any remaining chocolate off that the bristles couldn't reach. That way I wouldn't have to run the hot water for so long. Less water, less time over a hot steamy sink and less chocolate going down the drain and less water being splashed all over the place.
Fill one of the sink bays with hot soapy water and place the smaller bits in there with the chocolate wheel and let them sit for 5-10 minutes. The chocolate will melt off on it's own. Pull the pieces out and scrub them free of any remaining chocolate with one of the tooth brushes there and rinse them off using the normal faucet. You wont spray nearly as much water around creating a slipping hazard. Hit them up with the sanitizer spray. Done with less mess and time!
