Awesome video man!! 2 trout on a cold winter day is an awesome day, especially on your fly too! Great job. I can’t wait for the spring. See you out there!
Thank you! I was pumped. Funny that I got both fish on back to back casts. The other hours I was out there I got nothing. My next trip out I got skunked. I can't wait for Spring too. Hope to see you out there some day.
Nice work Buddy! Nothing like catching em on your own flies ! Get Merino wool socks , I use a real thick sock , and the second pair a little thinner, make sure there is a little room in your boots, don’t want them tight , will cut off circulation! Also if yes t to avoid tangles , let the your cast be more fluid rather than a whipping action! Nicely put together video! Tight lines
Excellent advice. Immediately after this trip, I ordered a bunch of wool socks. My next trip out was so much better temperature wise. As for the casting, yes, I need to be more fluid. I'm used to traditional fly casting with heavy line so trying to throw a thin leader around is very awkward for me. I'll get there.
most people think there dropper fly gets tangled when actually it doesnt..when you retrieve your flies back to you is when your dropper can twist around the tippet but its not doing that when its underwater drifting if that makes sense..keep your dropper tags short also..you will get the hang of euro nymphing in no time and will be amazed at the numbers of fish you will catch especialy on that river which is loaded with stocked fish..good luck
Definitely makes sense. I've noticed that the dropper will twist a lot, but when I drop it in the water, it looks fine. I appreciate the help. I do feel like I'm improving, but have a long way to go. Definitely enjoying it!
Thanks. In this video I was using a Thomas and Thomas Contact II 10'9", 3 wt matched up with a Ross Evoluation LTX reel. I just started using it this year and I love it.

Way to stick with it, nice fish and congrats on the fly tie.
Thanks so much!
Nice time out on the water and see you catch a couple real nice bows on your hand tied flies.
Thanks! It was fun, but cold. Can't wait for Spring.

Don't tell anybody you're fishing Big Flatbrook! Lol The Bridge gave it away!
Yeah, the Roy Tract Bridge is pretty recognizable. If you've been there, then you know it.
Nice video! What rod are you using?

WOOL SOCKS! End of Story!
Agreed! I'm such a newb. I ordered a bunch of wool socks after freezing my feet a couple of times.
