Honestly i like knifing as well, really fun but i still consider it a bit of a cheese method. Same as shotgunning. You dont need to aim and its instant kill, all you're doing is watching mini map and plotting how to get close without being detected to early. It helps your reg-gunning tho, you get a lot better at map awareness. I have had some seriously long streaks with just knifing as well, haven't tried it on BO4 yet tho.
