I thank you brother for hia service and your family for the sacrifices of a family with a member in the military. I have a son currently serving and i feel the same way about this song and my country!
Thank your brother for his service and thank you for your patriotism. My father served in W W II, my brother in Vietnam era and my current man in the Navy on the USS Kitty hawk during Vietnam. My former husband was a 100% disabled vet and died of his disability from US Army, 67-69. I have great respect for our country and flag and for all those who sacrificed to keep us safe. God bless the USA.🙏
Great reaction. I'm late to view this sceez, but I love your content. All this recent phenomena in American pop culture music got me onto this reaction. The Try That In A Small Town / Rich Men North of Richmond buzz got me remembering Merle Haggard songs; messages and music from the early 70s. You know that, during this time in country music history his sound was different and refreshing. Another one to definitely check out is "Working Man Blues" from the same era. There is a live version with an instrumental jam session built into it available here on UA-cam. It is said that George Jones once abandoned on of his own tour dates to go see the Hag perform!
Respect and thanks to your brother from a fellow vet (11B Army). I think folks on the channel would LOVE to hear about the countries you visited, what was great or wasn't and such.
It's funny that you should mention basketball. I did my service in the Navy back in 91 in the Gulf. And I'm happy to report to you, on our return home, our ship's basketball team spanked the team from a rather large university in Australia! So, years later, it was no surprise to me, during the Olympics, when the USA "dream-team" owned the court! Also, from me, thank your brother for his service! Much love, Tim 😄
I am an Army Brat and my husband served in the Marines. Please tell your brother thanks so much for his service. I appreciate and thank every man and woman has served and continue to serve.
You make my heart happy…. As the daughter of a Vietnam Vet, my Dad and 2 of his brothers fought hard for this country and we love this country more than anything…. Thank Your Brother for his service too. Some people may forget them but there are so many more who never forget their sacrifices… 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Please thank your brother for his service. I love your patriotism. My mother grew up in WWII and she is a fierce patriot and taught her children to be the same. Don't you love how Merle says, "Hoss"?
Yo Sceez I used to like you, man.... Now.... I FUCKIN LOVE YOU! I'm glad we're on the same team. We ain't the same race, we grew up far from each other, I don't care about your religion, or your politics. I don't know you and you don't know me but our blood is the same red, white and blue. God bless your brother. I will pray for him. I was catastrophically injured serving my community so I know a little of he might be going through. Peace my little brother. You're an inspiration to this old(er) guy. 😎
I have this song on my playlist and listen to it at least once a day, I feel if they hate it here so much, get out! I've always felt this way and Merle Haggard is/was a true patriot! He sang many songs about the working man and about patriotism! Fabulous reaction today Sceez!
I feel everything you said! Great appreciation to your brother for his service! I'm a lifelong fan of Merle's, my favorite male country singer, and I enjoyed your reaction very much!
I am right there with you. God Bless your Brother for his Service. My Grandfather served in WWII, My Uncle Served in Vietnam, I Served in Desert Storm, and My Son Served in Syria. We believe in people's rights to have their own opinions and ideas and stand up to use their 1st amendment rights to voice them, but when they blame the Country, the soldiers, etc. instead of the Politicians, mainstream media, or leaders that keep us looking at each other instead of at them. it's like putting RED ants and Black ants in the same jar. Left alone the live peacefully, but if you shake the jar...They band up by color and kill one another instead of the one who shook the jar!. Love ya man! I'm looking outside the JAr!
Merle has a ton of great stuff. I've covered at least three of his songs in a band I was in for quite a long time. I once got to see him perform from 6 feet away and had eye contact and a bit of conversation back and forth with him during the show. What a blast. He is a master storyteller and actually a really good guitar player although he's just playing rhythm on this one. Check out Mama Tried. You'd love it.
Johnny Cash used to go to prisons & sing for the inmates sometimes. When Merle Haggard was in prison, Johnny played the prison Merle was in. Merle Haggard decided that's what he wanted to do was sing & play guitar! And I'll be damned if he do it!! Set his life down a different road!! Sometimes when we question God, we don't know the grand schemes he has planned!! 🙏💯
You're a fine young Man - my older brother is also in the Army ; in 15 years and just recently had to have both knees replaced - I've enjoyed your content before , but now I've just subscribed
My father was a big fan of country music and Meryl Haggard and Jonny Cash were two of his favorites. I think he must have owned almost every record album they released. lol This song was one of his favorites and became one of mine because I grew up hearing it played so often, you just might like it as well, Skeez "Meryl Haggard - Long Black Limousine [Live from Austin, TX]"
The one thing that unites us, no matter race, religion, sexual orientation, etc, is the fact that we are all Americans. Praying for your brother. Please know his service is much appreciated. God bless!
I see a lot of young people looking at music that they've not heard before and that is good. I'm glad you're checking out one of the best country singers there were.
I fucking love your patriotism!! This is America this is how we should all feel about our neighbors thank you brother for his service from my family to yours. We're supposed to be proud Americans I don't see any blurred lines between a to s it's black and white Americans that's U.S.
I hope God Blesses your Brother! We need to get some kind of control of the lunacy before others are left behind (physically or spiritually). Peace, Love!!
My sisters don’t have a platform like you, but they would say, and I know, I came back different. But different isn’t the end of life, it’s just a different life. It can still be good, but probably not what was planned. I wish your brother my best. Stay close to him. Don’t let him drift down a rabbit hole…💕
Please check out Mama Tried which is probably one of his most famous and well known songs. Are The Good Times Really Over & My Favorite Memory are a couple by Merle that are 🔥🔥🔥. Also Pancho & Lefty which is a collab of Merle and Willie Nelson.
Imagine being someone who would criticize the USA but still want to live there. That's a lack of character and it's most people these days unfortunately.
Not sure if you have checked out Toby Keith and Scott Emerick "I'll Never Smoke weed with Willie Again" They surprised him with this song. Here is the link ua-cam.com/video/_gNc2W5fdGI/v-deo.html
If you’re an American, if you don’t like it renounce your U.S. citizenship. If you don’t like it I’ve been to places you can go to. If you return that’s fine but you can apply for a green card and wait with the other applicants
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar gave a campaign speech talking about being a representative of Somalia I think she and the others from 3rd world countries need to go back and improve their country and don’t bring your 3rd world country country to out country
Great reaction but this song was about protesters of the Vietnam war. However he was a very liberal guy and was more in tune with the protesters than this song portraits. This song he regrets releasing because it was against his real feelings. Money is money I guess.
You should be aware that Merle is somewhat of a bs artist. I'm not saying he didn't believe in the things he said but rather his motivations were somewhat more financial. In his own words he noticed some people were protesting the Vietnam war whilst others were all for it so he wrote a couple of songs to tap the latter market. The other one was Okie From Muskogee, a song about being anti drug(marijuana specifically). Truth is the guy did as much drugs as Keef Richards. So with a grain of salt....
How can you call the USA the best country in the world. You have obviously never lived in Canada or Switzerland or Norway or any of the other of the truly great countries who don't send its most unfortunate sons to war. Countries which have good health insurance, countries with good social policies like childcare affordable
Love your patriotism! I appreciate the sacrifices of your brother and family.
Thank your brother for his service. I appreciate it.
That man has a way with words 'walkin on the fightin side of me' I love it!
God Bless your brother. Thank him for his service.
You are taking us WAY back tonight! These old country songs remind me of my daddy! ❤
I thank you brother for hia service and your family for the sacrifices of a family with a member in the military. I have a son currently serving and i feel the same way about this song and my country!
Great reaction, love ya brother! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 Thank you to your brother, and to all veterans, for their service!
Thank you so much for your borther!

Merle and I shared a birthday, so I always had a fondness for him. He had a number of great hits, I'd recommend "Mama Tried" next
A big thumbs up to you brother...thanks for that reaction...63 year old former marine from south carolina
1:38 after saying that I know you are going to love this song. It’s one of my favorite.

Wow!!!! So happy to see someone reacting to this, especially such a young man!
I wish there were more men like you in America these days, but I’ll never give up hope that the best is yet to come.
I feel everything you said! Great appreciation to your brother for his service! I'm a lifelong fan of Merle's, my favorite male country singer, and I enjoyed your reaction very much!
