The Sketch section in the Data pane is way cool. Stopped the video and tried it out an a model I was working on. I checked in 0.20.2 and it was there as well. I wonder how much cool stuff is just hidden away*. I don't recall MangoJelly ever showing this. The chain was mostly moving like a bike chain when playing with one link at a time. Keep up the great work. * I was watching an Inscape developer's channel and Inscape had a function in it for the ten years that everybody forgot or didn't know about. He found it because he is working on the color management stuff and stumbled across it.
Hidden gems can be super useful. here is a thread on twitter where one of the developers of FreeCAD found something like the inkscape hidden gem thing you just described. x.com/AleksanderSado1/status/1830971546288164882
That is a very nice explanation. When you inserted the SubAssyMidUnit in the active BikeChainAssy, you did not select to ground it but you were able to rotate and align it with the frontal plane. If the inserted part is not grounded, the joints are grayed out. Where did I miss? Thank you.
I set the first part added in any assembly to be grounded. So, SubAssyMidUnit was grounded the moment it was inserted in there, as can be seen by the lock symbol. After that, you can still move or rotate around using the axis cross if the axis cross is visible. You can bring the AC back by selecting a part from the left panel after inserting it. Does that address your concern?
great video! very easy to follow what you are doing
thank you for sharing your projects and learning!
Very weldon sir
Amazing job! The quality of the video here is too low, but you do a LOVELY job explaining every detail!!!!!
Noted. thanks.
