    Spent the past 8 hours trying to figure out how to get that resistor pack in without taking the entire heater core out. Your little trick to get the extra 1" worth of room is exactly what I needed. Beyond thankful for your video! You do damn good work!

    Nice work Ford. Another issue with the wiring harness that passes from one side to the other around the lower engine/frame. Route that harness up high, either long the firewall, or near the upper radiator channel. I know that there is limited real estate to house the blower motor and heater core under the dash, but surly the engineers could have made some of the parts easier to replace.

      No doubt, my has gone out. Thinking of relocating and rewire to make that resistor go where Ford should have put it. Up front where it can be changed if ever goes out again. Screw all that removing the whole dash.

    Wow. This is a very interesting vid. I generally don't do dash work, but God forbid if the need should ever arise that I need to remove it on my 2016 for whatever reason, this is the perfect reference. I know evaporators were pretty common to fail on earlier model years. Have you seen any fail on 2016 model years yet? Knock wood, my 2016 has been good to me so far. As of August 31st of this year, the last of my warranties will be expiring, namely my diesel engine component. Wondering if by then I should be thinking about a 2020 or 2021?

    Being in the trade for 50+ years i have often ask why manufactures do what they do when designing their products. In this instance i again have to ask why Ford would bury a part with common failures so deeply. It's not only Ford but all of them. I'm all for keeping technicians working but sometimes i have to wonder if there isn't another reason for their stupidity.

    • @wysetech2000
      @wysetech2000 4 роки тому

      @Oddly Right All brands do stupid things, even Toyota. My problem is that why do they bury a part that's is known to have a high failure rate? As a tech i know that part needs to be in an area that has a high amount of air flow to keep it cool but there must be a more accessible place than that.
      Maybe i'm just a bitter old fart from working on that crap for too long.
