Great vid. It's sooooooooo rewarding when you go through all that crap and work to make it run. And it acts crazy for the first few tries, and finally it all comes together and works well. Such a great feeling. Glad to see you guys got it straight. I don't know if I can say that I miss my E46, as I'm now in a 335i E92, with almost 700 hp. But I loved that car, and it took such great care of me. That car NEVER failed to start or do whatever I asked of it. The most reliable car I've ever owned, easily.
I worked on a floded bmw f10 diesel. After removing water from cylinders, engine fired up no problems. Still working fine today. Oil and filters changed and inside ran a dehumidifier 2-3 days carpet up. You cant even tell it was run through a flooded road. You could have done the same, engine would be probably fine.

Nice to finally see a Rhode Islander making a name! That idle problem could be the ecm trying to relearn the TPS and if that's the old computer it's trying to figure out the new manifold too

Use bread for that pilot bearing. Just rip it into little pieces and shove them in the hole. Works way better than grease

When you swap ECUs without coding the keys you will get a P0600 error, my car has it. Shouldn't affect performance.
I should clarify, if the ECU is from an automatic car and put into a manual you'll get that code

Yes
Unplug your maf sensor if your still having issues, it sounds like a bad maf if it runs good with it unplugged its the problem

I have a bmw engine swap I have desperately wanted to make happen but I don’t have the skill/tools/or connections to without getting shafted, some of the prices I’ve seen people quote for M Engine swaps is always other worldly

Was the M50 intake manifold change worth the effort? I thought the Port was of different Shape? Good wrenching!
Ports are very diffrent but u can install it without porrting the head without issues just not maximum gains
Was this a 3.0 to 3.0 swap? I'm looking for an engine have the 2.5 and was looking to swap to the 3.0 should I go ahead and grab the dme or will mine work.

Im looking into doing the same m50 intake swap. im assuming the disa valve gets deleted but what happens with the idle control valve?
You get it tuned. The cold starts will be rough but once you get it warm it will run just fine without a iac
Sid Bork ok I figured that was what they were doing, I just wasn’t sure if it was only on cold starts or not. I seen you can add it still but looked like a mess of vacuum hoses

Im working on one right now. I found it hard to believe i gotta drop the frame to swap.out the engine...do to my lack of space i was thinking. If i remove the converters and passenger engine mount bracket. Would that give me enough room to swing the engine to the right to pass the front dif to pull the engine upward

those are bmw style 193 rims
They look like 19" E90 ///M3 wheel
they are 18'' and yes they come from e90/91/92/93 m sport models (not actual m3). Got them on my e90
