I have a TRAUMATIC!!! brachial plexus injury. My life is a world of pain. A Honda Fireblade has set my arm on fire! After trying to manage with a limp arm for 4 years I elected to have it removed. It gave me balance and the ability to jog and jump. NO PAIN RELIEF! I have been on a combination of meds including the nasty oxycodone. This is a problem for me. I'm married with 3 kids. All were born before my accident & under 4! My loving wife & kids help but the pain is unbearable. Your BLESSED!

Bikes are fun but can get out of hand when you build confidence. At first I was in normal sling. My physical therapist recommended this 'Givmohr' sling which straps around both arms and back giving you more support to the bad arm. It helps prevent subluxation to the shoulder. Highly recommend it!

I recently have just been able to jump a few inches off the ground and run, but with slight discomfort. I was on oxycodone for a bit but I didn't like the side effects of it and luckly I've been able to manage the pain with vicodin and aspirin(depending on pain level). Yes, I am blessed! For what I went through I'm happy to be alive.

It's not easy but over the last 9 months I've learned to cope with it. I was in critical condition with little hope of surviving. Wsn't sure if I'd be able to walk again, eat again, talk, or do many things on my own again. So for everything I went through a limp arm ain't that bad. You do have to be careful, I always keep it in a sling. What happened to you?

Hello, I had nerve graphs transfered from other parts of my body to reconnect the damaged nerves. Check out Dr. J Brown at UCSD, he's really well educated in the area and has many brachial plexus injury patients.

It has gotten worse at times. Since I'm starting to get some movement/sensation back into my arm, I randomly throughout the day get these painful jolts. It's a sign that the nerves are waking up. I've been able to cope with it without the use of medications by staying busy with school, work, son, etc. but when I'm restless on a few hours of sleep, the pain is excrutiating. Also when the temperature is lower my bones ache. Thank you commenting. It's been sometime since I made this video, I think it's time for another.
