FIXED 2005 Buick LaCrosse - Failed ECU - Failed EBCM - Starting Disabled

We have a 2007 LaCrosse CX 3800 with a no Crack, no fuel pump. It did start a couple of times & would run for about 10 seconds, then shutdown and then no crank again. I will comment what we find with ours.

Hey thanks ALOT for putting this up. I think a lot of folks are having this problem with Buicks. I've had similar issues but probably a crank but no start and it turned out to be the ECU but not a combination of the brake control module and the engine control as well. It looks like my friends 2007 Buick Lucerne is exhibiting some similar issues except it cranks but won't start.
Also, you're a pretty articulate guy and a good speaker, ...for a Hillbilly.

Additionally, nice place you got out there if that's yours in the background. Gorgeous lots of space I would love having a property like that. I live in the Oakland Bay Area and I've often dreamed of having a ranch property or something with lots of space around.

Working on this same car now. Randomly not starting. ABS no communication. No communication with ABS module. Couldn’t bleed braking system. Testing for ECU/PCM/ECM voltage today. If voltage is found will be replacing the module. Will probably replace ABS as well due to this video showing the car would not reprogram without other repairs. Since knowing I also have a ABS problem previous to my other issues, seems this will be the fix.

What is causing all the gauges to not work? I replaced the ecm a year ago now I'm having the same problem

I have a 3.8 and after a lot of searching I was told I may have a bad Body Control Module which sends signals to ECM. I don't understand how the ABS played a part in this, isn't that for brakes? Nice video

Got a 2013 lacrosse with the same issues randomly just won't start sometimes it'll kick in 10 15 20 minutes later

Do you think the pcm was actually bad?
I'm having the exact same thing going on with my LaCrosse and I don't want to buy an ecm if I don't need it ya know haha

I thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge, I also had a issue with the ECM. One injector would not pulsate. Frustration set in, then I sent it to a shop, for diagnosis. I bout one and those guys could not program it. Turns out that I had to do it all myself without a scanner or programming.

How did you do this? I got one from flagship one for my vin and it will not re learn. Won’t start

@@jaynecobb4964 I removed the battery cables, closed & locked the doors. Installed it and reconnected the battery. Unlock the door and insert key, turn to start or run. BUT DID NOT START the car. Basically relearns the key & poof it started. Hope it helps.

WOW!!! You explained that really well. I have a 2008 Buick LaCrosse CX, 3.8L, V6, Series 2. And it’s sounding like a Freight Train. It also has over 217,000 miles. Could it possibly be the Timing?

Check the coil packs first make sure they are firing next test the ICM which sits under the coil packs..

Do you need to do anything special when installing the new EBCM. I was told you need a scan tool to purge or bleed (something of the sort, lol) the new EBCM. Is that true? Or just bleed the brakes as normal?

The volume for the anti-theft system, the beep beep beep, when you put the keys in the ignition, turned up and is at high volume. It always used to be at a medium-average level, but my mom used it one day and now the volume is very high. How do I control this?? Mine is a 2005 Buick Lacrosse cxl. Help me please!😂

Probably not. I think the ECU is different on the 3.8. My research showed the 3.6 gave this problem more often.
