I think it's for the best that they just name it "takin" and leave the subspecies out. For most animals that would be the best course of action really. Think about it, if the lion was just a "lion" instead of a "West African Lion" then it would encompass the entire lion species and you could use it as an Asiatic Lion as well in your Indian areas of your zoos. An exception would be for animals where one species is very different from the other, like where the Siberian tiger is for cold weather and the Bengal tiger is for warm weather, or the Amur leopard is for cold weather and if they were to introduce another leopard it'd be for warm weather, but other than that, I think it's almost always better to just leave it at the species level for names and ignore the subspecies.
Speaking of commun species in Zoo, the Golden Takin are mostly the commun species in European Zoo... So I think the game is most likely to adjust to the "american zoo collection" But give me the takin, the model is incredible!!!
I think that's old info because I just double checked and it says the Mishmi is with 39 current holdings, compared to Golden with 20. But I could be wrong, I'm not an expert on European Zoos, but I do have a pretty extensive list on AZA species and Sichuan are by far the most common here, but idk if the addition of it via model really means they're giving NA some rep. Probably just googled "Takin" lol
Are y'all happy with a Sichuan Takin model? Let me know what y'all think!!!
This game has elevated so much, and it was already so beautiful way back in beta. It’s legitimately art now 😍
so goated
It looked completely different in the trailer, and is this a sign for more birds lol (This will make the overall price for PZ 220.82!!!)

Yeah, even though they’re calling it Takin. The Sichuan is very clearly the model, I agree.
Wow they look incredible. Can't wait to see them in game.
I’ve been wanting a takin in game for forvever, this is incredible

Talkin' about the takin!
The sichuan takin is the only one I have ever seen, and I love them. Might install a mod that changes the name to sichuan takin.
Great to get this kind of Takin species in the game😊
Definitely looks fantastic!
Too bad your not making planet zoo videos anymore :(
Why didn't they specified the subspecies instead? They should have named it Sichuan takin instead of just takin.
Who knows maybe they will include some skin variants.
@@C.c.c.c.c.c.c yeah it makes sense
@@C.c.c.c.c.c.c Makes sense, since they talked about it having Golden fur in the livestream.
In case ur wondering, San Diego Zoo still has Golden Takins
