I'm in Florida and my local college is FREE if you graduate high school with a 3.0 GPA. You need a 2.5 to graduate high school so college is practically free for the people who deserve it.

I’ll use me as an example… I’m an E6 and my basic pay salary is about 45,000… any financial paperwork I fill out though, my gross annual is about 85,000… I still have to report it and I still get paid as if I were making the equivalent to 85k on the civilian side after taxes.. No one in the military knows their basic pay salary really unless they go look at it… they all know their civilian equivalent pay
College and healthcare are both free in my country and taxes aren't nearly as crushing as a lot ot US states. That’s make no sense, with that logic that means you can pay a heart surgeon minimum wage because they went to school for free. Most businesses in general place a certain value on jobs based on factors such as the difficulty of the task, education level, and how easy it is to retrain that person for that specific role. All this comes into account when adjusting for salary. Whether you went to school for free or you payed 120,000 in tuition just to go to school for a bachelors in some randomn degree doesn’t matter to you employer what matters is how profitable you’re to the business in the long run.

That’s make no sense, with that logic that means you can pay a heart surgeon minimum wage because they went to school for free. Most businesses in general place a certain value on jobs based on factors such as the difficulty of the task, education level, and how easy it is to retrain that person for that specific role. All this comes into account when adjusting for salary. Whether you went to school for free or you payed 120,000 in tuition just to go to school for a bachelors in some randomn degree doesn’t matter to you employer what matters is how profitable you’re to the business in the long run.

Considering all that profit the colleges make, they can hire more janitorial staff, more professors and teaching assistants to help out with the increasing demand, thereby giving more people jobs, stimulating the economy, getting people off of governmental assistance in that aspect, while educating the future of America.
