You made a really good case for this game! I feel like you about the main mechanic, but now I'm very interested in it now. Maybe it'll do it for me as well! I do like owning at least one game for most of the mechanics so we can enjoy that flavor from time to time.
I ended up selling Sand because it just was too much effort to get from one point to another. On the opposite end, this game has a built in mechanism to make it easier to move across the board. Mistwind is fantastic and so much fun whereas I can see Sand being great for many folks but it was not my cup of tea after several plays.

Yes. This game just nails what I am looking for in a pick up and deliver as well as a network building game.
