I only came across her a few weeks ago. Really love a couple songs, the rest really isn’t my thing. I’ve heard her talk about not liking singing. Makes sense, she really struggles live. I think she knows that, but just does her thing, which I can respect. She brings a shit ton of energy to her performances which I guess kinda makes up for the lack of vocals a little.
She uses a lot of effects on her voice when recording to make it sound good. Hana is one of the most gifted singers alive, Grimes isn't but she knows how to fix it in the studio.
this is the first band where the live version of their song sounded better than the album version
She should play with a full band for a more rich, compelling, and enveloping sound. The whole "all on my own" thing is for the studio.
Ive thought this too...even if she just had a drummer it’d make a huge difference
well she’s more a producer than a singer so she mainly has to show her talent of doing everything on her own.

My other idea was having die hard fans take my songs and send them to there favorite artist writen as I deleved into the style and social scene to well get to the evolution faster then the three or four years it takes a garage band to....
i love her, but her voice sound soooo bad here.
It's.like. she might not even laugh at my jokes.....if we where talking about a white surpemist walking by and I mention and pointed out my hair and said hair today comb tommorow casue I'm slightly untidy......the lamest jokes are only funny when more is shared.....and I created by writing words on a freaking page the industry...what irks me is it just because my dads name is William e Roberts casue I suffered a hell of a lot for this

This 'performance' is pressing buttons, barely hacking a guitar, terrible hipster 'dancers' to distract you from the lack of anything happening on stage, weak vocal (1: 56 is unlistenable)...This is like watching a Mickey Mouse Club Disney channel performance for 10 year olds.
Even the person videoing halfway through was like...yeah fuk it lol
yeahhhhh i can see what you mean. but i still love claire even though a lot of her performances are messy. if you want a "bad" performance, her first performances of world princess pt ii and butterfly were some of the awkwardest things to watch. (still enjoyed it just at the sake of being a fanboy lol)
Claire is great and talented NO DOUBT. I just wish she'd focus on her performance as much as her studio recordings and ditch the back up dancers, they bring it down.. Not trying to hate on our ol Grimey, just love
