I didn't know Oblivion was about a sexual assault she experienced in Montreal. She wrote the song to help her deal with the trauma. Her music is so beautiful and it makes the world a better place for me and how horrible that the world could be so brutal to her.

Not condoning the incident, just pointing out that even the things that at the time may seem to be the most horrible and meaningless experiences can later be understood as catalysts for something greater, a galvanizing or tempering as by fire, to yield something stronger, more purposed...it seems she didn’t let the bad life experiences define her, but instead took the experiences and used them to define what kind of life she wanted...there is a ‘world’ of difference between those two intersecting paths... 😉

But I still stand by my comments on her performances. She doesn't actually try to sing anymore and she sings in this really weird way that just kinda ruins it for me.
el cid You're not the only one. I guess her performances now are just about energy and performance art than singing well or accurately? I don't get it, I mean I can see when she stays behind her equipment that she sings really well. Now, it's a totally different kind of performance and the vocals are just really off key a lot of the time. Is the jumping all around the stage throwing off her vocals or what?

When Grimes makes a comment like that it's your cue mister record store man to pull down the blinds, turn off the lights and bust out the spinning disco ball, ha ha. How cool is her creative multi-tasking talent genius. Thank you for the post of this video.
Claire is just adorable here. Sorry, I know she hates that, but I do take her seriously as an artist with great production skills. Before the big and brilliant musical shift in Art Angels and before Elon Musk, there was Visions and this precious moment in time when her music was simple enough to pull off live without cringing vocals. This proves she can do it, but I think she's realizing that all those layered tracks on Art Angels are hard to pull off live without having to play the album tracks and singing along, which is not nearly as cool as this.
For years I thought she had created her own awards show called the Grimeys (instead of the Grammies). Was very disappointed to find out that’s the name of the store she’s playing in.
This is classic Grimes doing songs from arguably her best album. Now with more perspective over time I feel more confidant in that assessment, although I really do love Art Angels as well for different reasons.
I'm looking for a concert she did outside with a huge crowd that knew every word to her Songs and sang loudly. They had a blast. I hope I can find it. I enjoyed this too. She's really talented and has a beautiful voice. She choices when to sound the way she sounds. I accidentally heard her singing beautifully haha She's different.
Definitely would be nice for the haters on Claire's voice see some of the old video like this as this is definitely one of the better vocals performances from her compared to newer stuff. Anyways great video.

One of my favorite things about her is you can see it's just one person making the music. That's one of the coolest things about electronic equipment these days you don't need a 5-6 person band unless everyone in that band contributes to the sound or is super talented at that one job. Who knows maybe people like grimes will bring an end to this garbage-low-talent music they've been crapping out onto the radio. Rap used to be good, actual songs... now rap is just garbage as so is a lot of pop and even rock today. We need a reboot, badly. Plus a lot of record executives and people in the recording industry need to get rid of all these no talent hacks.

father of the month right there!!!!
Thank you for this , all those lucky people
"Brought to you by the letter "S" for "SNAAAAP!" Thankyou so much!
I LOVE this video! ~~ For this, and all other Grimes’ videos, I wish someone would put the lyrics in the chat.
thx for uploading this. Its like super special
Iconic
This girl has got much talents ❤️
I also love around 9:30 where you zoomed into the other person's viewfinder to try to see Grimes from her perspective
True artist! Big fan! Hope I get to see you perform someday soon! ♥️
La amo....
First number, magical...ethereal! other worldly really
damn she got a lot of samples! nice
The way she holds the mic is kind of smart actually, ive never seen anybody do that before.
Enjoyed this so much
The kid in the back is the most awesome audience ever!
the dad is feeling it too... he's bobbin his head like a champ.... he's probably a badass dad
@@rageking3810 I'm guessing the dad is into her music, and dragged his daughter along to educate her on music.
