I love this guy as much as I love his dad! You're right: why don't Americans notice the Thompsons' talent? Teddy has more talent as singer or songwriter than 95% of those out there that bill themselves as either! Sing on, Teddy.
The genre of Folk-Rock is brimming with these beautiful songs...i spend most of my listening time there and have massive playlists here on UA-cam and on Spotify...The Uncle Hog Show w/Terry D
Teddy Thompson is absolutely the best solo singer/guitarist I have ever had the privilege to meet. He is a great guitarist, gifted songwriter, and he has a fabulous voice.
Stumbled across this guy after listening to Glen Campbell’s awesome version of this song with Dick Dale and Chris Isaak. Anybody who has had their song covered by Glen Campbell or Dick Dale can hold their head high. I’ll have to check out more of Teddy Thompson’s music. Thanks for uploading it!
Saw Teddy a few weeks ago at Infinity Hall Norfolk Ct. He was awesome, what talent, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. His parents Richard and Linda Thompson so great!
Richard is a rock God, but he can still most likely go to the mall by himself and do some shopping and no one would probably notice him. It's actually pretty sad, Richard deserves more recognition.
everyone who came to see this video only for Rufus - please give Teddy Thompson another listen! I only just got into him, and I've surely seen this video a few years ago because of Rufus, now I just regret I didn't pay enough attention to Teddy back then, and he's fabulous!
Lyrics: Got an easy place to be In my arms, in my arms Got a simple space to feel free In my arms, oh in my arms Keep it on the recent Keep it on the now Give me an easy way out It's a lonely world that I got In my arms, in my arms Got a 'lotta room to get lost In my arms, in my arms Keep it on the recent Keep it on the now Give me an easy way to get out Keep it on the recent Keep it on the now Give me an easy way out Got an easy place to be In my arms, oh in my arms Not much to feel from me In my arms, oh in my arms In my arms
It was this video and song that made me "go crazy" and say that Teddy is one of the best singers in the business in our day. After being a fan for more than 15 years, I haven't changed my mind about Teddy, but have become something of what we used to call "superfan."
So funny to hear this country-sounding voice coming from such a “proper” sounding Englishman . His speaking voice is a surprise next to his singing voice . Nevertheless , his songs have me run the gamut from tapping my toes , feeling his lyricism , or wiping my eyes . His voice instantly brings out emotions . Without sounding trite , he is one of the few singers that sings a song while holding a key to my heart- his voice directly ends up there and bypasses all other senses . I feel more people should be familiar with him and his voice . I don’t think he’s gotten the accolades he deserves as a fantastic artist .
I’m here because Teddy Thompson is an amazing musician, singer, and songwriter! Every. Single. Recording!! Keep on keeping it real and “recent”, Teddy!! Thank you for the music!
Me too! Love his duet of Persuasion with his father. Also a big fan of Rufus, London and Martha Wainwright - But Samantha Power reminded me that Teddy’s music exists
I went with a friend from RI to New York to see Teddy perform at the City Winery on Saturday. He was opening for John Hammond, but we were there for Teddy. We had a nice Amtrak overnight getaway. This was the only song he sang that I knew.
Madre mia!!! Lo que me ha costado encontrar esta canción!!! Pensaba que era una de tipo de country y resulta que es del amigo Rufus. Sencillamente genial. Me gustó desde el primer día que la escuché.
Watch the documentary a few back recently shown on Glen Campbell faewell tour in his 70s having Alzheimers , he sings In my arms on his opening show , very very moving doc,, sung just as good as any one ,,
I was at location when they filmed this. They gave me eggs and bacon. My friend was wearing a white tuxedo and ate about four bagels. One of the women in the video used the bathroom and it smelt terrible. Until today I thought the name of song was”In my arse”. Rufus was great!
Me encanta este vídeo, me hace sentir como una quinceañera, haciendo tonterías para que te mire el chico que te gusta!!! Y, personalmente, me encanta la chica, hacen muy buena pareja.

He has the masters genes.
So refreshing to see and hear that something wholesome is still even being made, in this day and age.

Teddy Thompson is absolutely the best solo singer/guitarist I have ever had the privilege to meet. He is a great guitarist, gifted songwriter, and he has a fabulous voice.
But he has never visited the Netherlands... so I have never had the pleasure to seem him perform live.....
So meeting you is what makes him that good..
@@georgianwindow Don't be absurd.
LOVE Teddy Thompson. I wish Americans were more aware of him. He's outstanding. Beautiful voice, great songwriter, and and absolutely beautiful man!
Is he English ??? His dad has been around since the time of Noah

I've only recently discovered Teddy Thompson and now he's one of my favourites. He's lovely and such a great voice.

Lyrics:
Got an easy place to be
In my arms, in my arms
Got a simple space to feel free
In my arms, oh in my arms
Keep it on the recent
Keep it on the now
Give me an easy way out
It's a lonely world that I got
In my arms, in my arms
Got a 'lotta room to get lost
In my arms, in my arms
Keep it on the recent
Keep it on the now
Give me an easy way to get out
Keep it on the recent
Keep it on the now
Give me an easy way out
Got an easy place to be
In my arms, oh in my arms
Not much to feel from me
In my arms, oh in my arms
In my arms
It’s not an easy place…

Great rhythm to this, a memorable tune, and the video is superb.
You don't have to choose. Teddy is brilliant and Rufus is brilliant.
Man, that guy is a melody machine. Rare. Cheers.
Great song. Rufus Wainwright camping on the piano is a hoot.
Best part of the video, he steals it 😂
God!I've just discovered him!! and love him to bits!!😍😍😍
Such a very nice little song. I like it a lot.
I’m here because Teddy Thompson is an amazing musician, singer, and songwriter! Every. Single. Recording!! Keep on keeping it real and “recent”, Teddy!! Thank you for the music!
Your list sent me back to a lot of music I haven't listened to in a while, Kate Wolf, Nancy Griffith. Thank you.
OK - I see now that shouldn't have spent so much time in the library when I was his age.
Best...KEYBOARD...SOLO...EVER !!!!
LOL I was wondering how they were gonna put Rufus in the video. OF COURSE, something over the top!
Saw him recently in Chester. Superb concert
Had forgotten just how good this guy's voice is - Samantha Power's Desert Island Discs brought me here
Me too! Love his duet of Persuasion with his father. Also a big fan of Rufus, London and Martha Wainwright - But Samantha Power reminded me that Teddy’s music exists
Loudon*
Nice song that's easy to the ears, reminiscent to the country music in the 1980s.
I went with a friend from RI to New York to see Teddy perform at the City Winery on Saturday. He was opening for John Hammond, but we were there for Teddy. We had a nice Amtrak overnight getaway. This was the only song he sang that I knew.
There is absolutely no way to sit still to this song! Love it!
Teddy Thompson will stand the test of time !
I listen this every day
"I Don't Want To Say Goodbye"-Teddy Thompson

Madre mia!!! Lo que me ha costado encontrar esta canción!!! Pensaba que era una de tipo de country y resulta que es del amigo Rufus. Sencillamente genial. Me gustó desde el primer día que la escuché.
