Must be cranking the heck out of the nut to break the router and the wrench! I have the Makita router on my XCarve.
There are photos of the graveyard of routers in both the Onefinity and Shapeoko Facebook groups (the Carbide router is a makita clone). That button surround is cast and the manual states that its to start the thread by hand, but many users, especially those used to the single wrench system that the Dewalt uses, will go at it using only the button and a single wrench... usually the punched steel wrench bends and then they get a real wrench and that's when the router cracks to bits.... usually the router is still operational, but the button is not so lucky though.
Can it use software outside of their web based one?
Is it possible to pause and shift longer projects which don't fit?
Is it possible to get a "Spindle" especially one which can use an ATC?
Yes, it uses a grbl controller so other grbl senders work fine: UGS, OpenBuilds Control, gSender, Picsender, even Candle would work.
The front and back are open, so tiling works as well.
Do you have a design for the Modular Wasteboard, by chance?

I think Inventables needs a upgraded X-Carve that doesn't cost so much. 🤔
Something to replace their current model but in a hobbyist budget.
I bought my second xcarve about 2 months ago and now I regret it... could've saved alot of money if I could've gone straight to the upgrade.
I heard that they sent at lest one customer, who called and asked, all of the upgrades free of charge.. so maybe give them a call, being as polite and as possible, you might get lucky.
One problem with modular wasteboard, eg after 5 surfaces & you want to replace 1 board, it's significantly thicker than its neighbours. Definitely time to start shimming as I wouldn't want to skim 1/4 inch off new board immediately
That's true.. no real point in replacing only one or 2, although the shipping costs are less for a stack vs a full size single board 😂
actually it probably actually costs the same for the 5 pieces and the t track as the single large board when considering dimensional shipping rates into those costs... at least here in the US 🤷♂️
