The colourful birds are Rainbow Lorikeets. They live in my area in their thousands. The pink and grey ones are Galahs. The large white ones are Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos and they’re the biggest population.
You dearly forgot the corellas
They along side come in
Large gangs too
I disagree some of your observations, the guys you met in Mt Druitt, you said one has waited 10 years for Gov't housing so he is living with his Mum, he told you he has all the education etc, I'm guessing this was the guy sitting down, firstly what gives him the right to think the gov't should just supply him housing, there are thousands of people in dire situations who genuinely need gov't housing in front of him, he seems pretty settled, living with his Mum on gov't benefits, able to sit around all day pondering life.
You're telling me in 10 years an education person can't get a job in Sydney what a load of rubbish, I have never been out of employment for more than two weeks in the last 20 years, if he is educated and doesn't have a good paying job after being here for 10 years it's because he doesn't want a job, these people are typically called professional bludgers, unemployment rate in Sydney is a measly 3.1%, there are plenty of jobs out there if you want them.
IF you are educated you WILL get a good paying job in Sydney and you can pretty much rent a nice place in most suburbs, IF you are NOT educated you will still get a decent paying job but only if you want a job, The attitude of relying on Gov't benefits and waiting around for the gov't to give you a house is ridiculous, you are never going to get anywhere if that's your mindset, this man needs to wake up and take responsibility for his life, use the gov't assistance to get further education, stop waiting for someone else to save you, get off your bum and change your situation, quit feeling sorry for yourself waiting for the gov't to magically "fix" your life.
I agree with you. It’s not my observations, I was just reporting on what he told me. I agree with everything you said on your comment. Thanks for watching!

Glad that you liked your visit to Australia. This is a beautiful & friendly country where one can live & travel everywhere with no problems. I’ve traveled a fair bit & I’ve not had any problems anywhere
Ivan.... great photography... very well done mate. Glad you had an overall good experience. Next time come to MELBOURNE.... best city to live in. Sydney is spectacular but expensive and hard to get around. I am biased 🙂
I was supposed to come to Melbourne but I changed my mind. It’s my next stop when I come back. 100% thanks so much for watching!
He is not the only black man who owns those cars there are many . Australians don't like people who show off their wealth . The tall poppy syndrome is real in Australia.
we dont care about colour here . were multi cultural , we take ppl on their actions and words . not colour .
Indeed, and if ever that was evident it would've been in that footage towards the end of the video where the people are crossing the road
You should be playing Waltzing Matilda. But Australia is more than just Sydney.
You are 100% true! I will explore more next time. Cheers!
Yep can't just go to NY and say "that's USA"
Come to Qld , you can hold koalas here. It’s a NSW law that you can’t hold one … You are right , in the wild they don’t like being picked up. I tried to save a baby one that couldn’t get over a property fence to a tree it was pacing about. I picked it up to put it over the fence so it could get to the gum tree and it was savage ! I got a beach towel from my car and tried again, it raced up the tree when I placed it over the fence . They have massive claws as I’m sure you saw.
I hadn't heard that!! I live in NSW on Central Coast which is very close to several wildlife parks. You can certainly hold koalas and also have your photo taken. Also there are koalas still in the wild up here and areas like Siding Springs and Coonabarabran where the clearest skies in the southern hemisphere exist and can be viewed at the Southern Observatory through their giant telescopes.
It is very simple. Australia is a continent because it is a large body of land surrounded by water. It is ALSO a country because it is an independently governed area of land. One doe not negate the other. We just happen to be the only country that is also a continent.
Australia is both a continent, country and island. In fact it's the largest island in the world and the smallest continent. Glad you loved my country, come again, if you do don't just go to Sydney there are lots of places west of there. Sydney is a great place but it's just one city. We pronounce "emu" as "eem you"
Amazing Australian series. Wow! I had never heard about a silkie chicken before. Interesting... Even though you're not allowed to hug the koalas, at least you experienced being up-close to them. Thank you, Ivain, for sharing your amazing visit to beautiful Australia 🇦🇺. Great content. I enjoyed watching 👍👍👍.
Thanks so much for always checking them out. I appreciate that. Yeah, very interesting animals down under 😆
You can hold koalas ( they are not bears but marsupials) in other states like my state Queensland.
They are Koalas, not koala bears. :) The koala is a marsupial like a kangaroo with a pouch.
Australia is both a country and a continent. As a country, it is officially known as the Commonwealth of Australia. As a continent, it is the smallest of the seven traditional continents and is sometimes referred to as the Australian continent or Oceania.
Oh I see! Interesting! I was confused what’s the difference between Australia and Oceania. Thanks so much!
And the largest Island
@@IvainTuresyeah Oceania includes New Zealand Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
Ivain great insight onto why sometimes you emphasize the black experience. As an African living in the US I should say i find the emphasis of race in the US very troubling. I have travelled around the world and I travel as a man not as a black man. I have been to China, Korea on a train across the country as the only black person in Poland, England etc all over Africa off course and never been subjected to racism. The most important advice I would give to people concerned about racism is first present yourself as an honorable person , learn the ways and local culture and you will be fine. You cannot go to a country where everyone speaks softly, shout at the top of your lungs and when people look at you crazy scream racism.
The final thing i will say is have grace. People are curious and thats ok. If a white man or woman goes to an African village, kids will follow them around ouf of curiousity but no hatred. So if we travel to spaces where there may have little interaction or experience with black people we should be patient and not treat any reaction that seems over the top as racism. But if you should face racism , confront it head on unless your life is in danger. Safe travels brother.
Thanks a lot for watching ! I also agree with your approach and I stand 100% behind it. Thanks a lot for watching!
@@IvainTures All good. The content is great. You are showing the world travelling is more than about just chasing skirts.
This was wonderful content Ivain. I think you already realised that in this country Respect attracts Respect and you are very polite and respectful. I hope we see you back here again ... 🙏🌺
I’ve enjoyed your videos. Seeing my own city through someone else’s eyes is interesting.
THanks a lot for watching!
@@IvainTures Your next trip should be the Fijian islands. LOL
Where do you get the idea that we eat kangaroos "to control the population"?? Kangaroos are mainly made into dog and cat food. Most Australians, apart from Aboriginals who hunt them, do not eat Kangaroo. Or they might try it only occasionally. Only farmers think kangaroos are pests, but they have taken the kangaroos land. The bird is pronounced EEEM-you, not ee-MOO. Glad you had a good time. You're wrong about social class. Some people have a chip on their shoulder. I am poor and was poor in Sydney many years ago. Never felt a class difference. Sydney is one of the most expensive cities in the world. You should go to smaller towns, beaches, mountains next time. We have snow fields, too.
Thanks so much for watching! Australia is amazing and I can’t wait to come back!
Sydney is a colonial city if you want to see Australia get out of the city mate and visit rural Australia and speak to real Australians not foreigners who this country home Lol you lack real knowledge and information 😂
Kangaroo meat is readily available in a lot of supermarkets and has been in restaurants for as long as I can remember. Kangaroo tail soup was the first to be introduced. Now grilled and also in pies...
Sorry but that isn't correct. Kangaroo meat is eaten regularly by Australian's. We have kangaroo farming for meat for human consumption.
@@davidhandson2429 that’s exactly what I thought 😂
Bon Voyage Ivain! Glad you enjoyed your visit to Sydney. But as you know there is SO much more!😊 I take it you are a city boy. If a goat makes you a bit scared 😂oh man you would definitely die of fright if you saw a crocodile!!It would really blow your mind to see the birds and animals in the wild. What a wonderful life you have made for yourself! May good fortune follow you wherever you go. Xx
Have you ever been butted by a goat or a Merino ram? Christ it bloody hurts! They can be mean bastards. 🤕
@@AussieFossil 😂I haven’t been, but I’ve definitely run from a mean goat😂
Just a little advice- Leave your racial hang ups at home next time you come out here. Show the country some respect as a visiter.
Ivan, you just told on yourself You're a gentle giant and a very good travel guide .I really enjoyed your trip to Australia I felt as though I was there. Congratulations, GREAT JOB THUMBS UP 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉And on top of that I learned a lot thank you.
Wow, thank you! I truly appreciate that! It means a lot!
Mate, I think you have a big future in this business. Your honesty is genuine and your videos are interesting and compelling, all the best with the channel, you deserve all the success in the world
N word? What? Very rare you'll hear that used here. The C word, definitely!
It's disappointing to be honest that you came to visit our magnificent country in the hope of finding racism. As you say yourself, racism is everywhere and Australia is no different, but it seems you were expecting everyone to be just walking around cussing out black people.
Just focus on enjoying the country mate and let go of your preconceptions that you really seem to be ill informed about.
Oh, and for the record do yourself a favour: if you ever get back over this way allow a lot more time to experience diffferent parts of the country. It's huge and very very diverse, you can't possibly expect to summarize Australia just by going to Sydney alone.
Seeing far too much of this on social media lately, particularly with Americans: going to one place for a few weeks and vlogging about it like that's what all of Australia is like.
Very true! I’ll come back and I’ll have more time. The country is so big. I feel like I didn’t do anything 😆. Thanks a lot for watching!
@@IvainTureswhat you’ve done is the equivalent of going to San Francisco and then acting like you see all of the USA.
Great videos Ivain, Glad that you liked Australia.
hey, our arms are open wide to welcome you back any time... my friend.
Knowledgeable and like a Big Kid...
Glad ya Enjoyed.
Australia is a country and as a continent(usually refer to as Oceania) comprising Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania and other smaller Islands.
Hey... Tasmania is part of Australia 🇦🇺 😮...... just saying 😊
Australia is a continent that is made of five hundred tribal nations.🙏
I appreciate your content. Safe travels to your next destination.
The man living with his mother in Mt Druit... If he's been waiting for 10 years indicates hes living off the Stare ie benefits. Now he wants a free house. Hmmm.
Our min wage is $24 an hour and double time on hidays. He cd naje decent money if he worked, especially living with family. There are PLENTY of jobs for unskilled workers, some well paid.
Australia is a country because it has its own government. Australia is a continent because it covers its own whole tectonic plate . Australia is an Island ,a country And a continent .😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi Ivain, I was born, lived and worked the majority of my life right in Sydney .. and gotta say you were so wrong, the bird life in Sydney city is crazy. Also Australians by nature, all Aussies, dont like talking about themselves to strangers, and asking people about their personal lives, wages etc, is simply seen as bad manners, we're friendly but not huggers. As I commented to one of your other videos .. which I've enjoyed by the way .. I've travelled all my life and every country has different cultures, and honestly Ivain you cant neet and know people in a couple of days. And truly, most Aussies have never tasted kangaroo. 💕
Glad you enjoyed Sydney, next time try to get around to smaller towns around north or south coastal areas from Sydney, yes Sydney is very expensive to live in, it’s ridiculous, overall I’m glad you enjoyed👌🏾🙏🏾😊
Next time you come to Oz , get away from the cities and head for the smaller towns .
The Aussies will talk to you out there because they are real and not immersed in themselves .
Go to a pub and meet the locals , and you’ll have mates who will look after you and show you around .
It’ll be like going back in time when people will just be themselves , warts and all .
They’ll like that you’re out there “ having a go !”
Come back soon!
Will do! Thanks a lot for watching!
Americans don’t want to come to Australia because of the wildlife. While I don’t want to go to the US because of the people.
You are most welcome to come back come to the Sunshine Coast next time .
Hello/Giinagay my precious brother/Gagu.

I cried when I watched your video on your visit to my homeland, I have a brother who lives in Waterloo/Redfern. Look us up on your next visit our precious Gagu.
God Bless 🙏🌻💜
Why is it confusing that Australia is both a continent and a country? Those birds are pronounced eem-you, not ee-moo. Thanks for your vlogs, Ivain - great work.
That's a great observation about classism rather than racism - you're absolutely right.
Hey Ivain that first Animal you hand feed was a wallaby not a kangaroo . Wallaby has the white stripe up their cheeks
Kangaroos are not a pest. That makes them sound like a plague of rats. This isn’t New York. Certain farmers have experienced problems on their properties when there are too many kangaroos. This tells me that man has upset the balance of nature in Australia. Before the British came here, the land was occupied by aboriginals for 60,000 years and they understood how to manage all the natural resources, so that everything was in balance. That balance was disrupted and now the kangaroo population fluctuates wildly between 1.5 million and 45 million! So we have to manage their numbers, but they are not a pest. Google mouse plagues australia and you’ll see actual pests.
Sounds good! Thanks for the feedback. Good point about the aboriginals! Thanks for watching!
🤗With your Irish music ☘️in the background!🫶l was expecting you 🫶to brake out in an ☘️Irish gig.💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋
The only tip you need to give in Australia is be good to your mother and and listen to your father. 😎
Emu is pronounced “Ee-myoo” 🙂
Your positivity attracts positivity. God bless. 🙏
Australia is the smallest of the world’s seven continents and is the world’s largest island. It is a country with one government.
Australia is the smallest continent and the largest island. In addidion to the mainland there is also the state of Tasmania and a number of external territories such as Norfolk island and a large portion of Antartica that are also Australian.
We are an Island as well.. You are Welcomed back anytime. ..
Please my my friend it is not pronounced emoo it is e-myou, it’s ‘you’ at the end not ‘moo’.
Australia - A continent for a nation and a nation for a continent. The only one on the planet
Peace
50million grey roos populate oz. Yes they are a pest. The big red roos arent in as large a number.
@19:59 That is the next Yoda for star wars lol. 🐨
Australia is a country and a continent in the region of Oceania
Sounds good! Thanks 🙏🏽
If you cant get a job in ozz its not because of race o-O
hello ivain and wonderful content of Australia.
This zoo is so awesome Ivan I'm quite sure you enjoying the view of the animals close up opposed to just reading and hearing where they come from how nice to share😊
Thanks so much for watching ! I appreciate that! Yes, it was such a fun experience
Australia sits on its own continental shelf, (the mainland of Australia and Tasmania, and various islands). So it is a continent.
The country that occupies the entire continental landmass, is called the Commonwealth of Australia.
Thanks very much,
i really enjoyed watching your visit to Australia. I love the Cockatoos and the Lorikeets.
Hope you return and see more of my country.
Safe travels and i look forward watching more of your reports from around the world.
I will be back 100%. Thanks to you for your time. It means a lot! Cheers!
Masterpiece Australia Series Video 👍👍
Kangaroos moving backwards is a myth. Everyone says it and it's even taught in schools but it's completely false. It's dangerous for a kangaroo to hop backward (they can snap their tail) but they certainly can. I've literally seen hundreds of them do it.
It is an island continent.
Mount Druitt isn’t usually thought of as a tourist destination. Just in case someone’s planning a trip and watching this. Staying in Sydney and didn’t show the beautiful harbour and beaches, botanical gardens and Taronga 🤷♀️ you would have seen lots of cockatoos and galahs around Sydney city, but you dont have to travel far outside Sydney City to see Australian animals living their wild life.
I truly don't believe in culling or removal of any nature. We are the traditional landcarers. Peace 🙏🌻
They have exploded to massive unsustainable populations. Kangaroos when in these huge populations developed something similar to mad cow. For this reason national parks and wildlife monitor and issue quotas for extermination for their own protection as a species.
Australia is a Continent , a Country and an Island
When I first lived and worked in Europe I found out I was surprised to realise I felt more connected to the world in Australia than in the few European countries I spent time in.
Australians naturally look outward.
Australia, Brazil,USA, and China are the same size
Great job! Have to point out one thing. From minute 20:15 to 20:32 you were able to hit two birds with one stone, so to speak. It was much appreciated! 😄
"No way I would visit that place."
The British killed the murderers, horse thieves and rapists - in Britain. Only the most genteel thieves, such as pickpockets, were given free passage to some of the colonies that became Australia. At the end of their 'working holiday' in the colonies, they were given farmland or allowed to start businesses.
Sydney is a colonial city Lol full of immigrants and their descendants..If you want to learn real Australian history and culture I recommend visiting a rural town or community or google Indigenous communities near you or something..You will learn more going to towns outside your major cities..Cairns is a good city with lots of cultural centres or Darwin,Broome,Townsville,Uluru,Torres Strait Islands,Tiwi Islands,Perth and surrounding areas,Brisbane outer suburbs and regional towns.
Did not like the look of that zoo, animals kept where you are the only source of food.
Nice rescue but a good wildlife park does not cage birds which are happy and will stay and if not the aviaries are stadium sized.
BS to no holding koalas must be an insurance issue, they can be nasty.
Roo and Emoo (lol) don't step back but the koala eats roots and leaves, do you what a root is?
I'm from Adelaide town/city like everything scaled down, less rat race but same things you see in Sydney, lovely place to visit.
I like the video 📹, your on the move, down under.
Continental plates. Australia is in its own continental plate
True true!
Australia have one the highest minimu wage in the owrld. Sydney is the best place to find work...and its easiest place to find work as well. The problem lies in people only wanting to do jobs they like. Hey, no matter the job, money is money.
Great, great video my brotha!! if you don’t mind, what’s the name of that intro song I need to work out to it?.lol
Did you mean island or continent? Of course it's a country but it's also an island and a continent. Technically the Commonwealth of Australia is on the Continent of Australia.
Ivan, thanks for this lovely contribution
❤
My pleasure! Thanks a lot for watching! I appreciate that!
As a Canadian why are Americans so gun crazy? There are countries that aren't. They are more peaceful that way. It's best to see wildlife in the wild. When I was in Australia I got to hold a koala.
Oh wow! I wish I had a hold of a koala 🐨 😆 things have changed. Thanks for watching!
Ask some aussies how to say things like aussie, and emu. Good that you learned how to say aussie. Sydney is one of the most expensive cities to live in. People get scammed, are not so trusting. May not want to hang out until they know you better. Other places are not quite so classist. Racial discrimination is a social no-no, in some cases illegal. A karen on abus got tracked down by police, big qonsequences.
This is quality work , this is what I’m always hoping for . This content is like watching a documentary better than the discovery channel. Thanks bro! I’m Afro Australian living in Perth. I’ll follow you from now on !!!
Thanks a lot bro! I appreciate your time! It means a lot! I’ll get to Perth eventually!!
Australia Continent & Island & one Country! Australia is one of the 7 continents, it is the smallest continent but the largest Island on earth. Snd the only continent that is also one country.
In state of Victoria we have racial vilification la😊ws where it is illegal to discriminate. Everyone should be equal
I just found your vlogs and your channel is very entertaining and funny 😂 Will you be going back to nz to film anytime soon?
Australia is much more then Sydney. Try travelling around a bit next time
Castlereagh Street is pronounced “castle-ray”. It’s an Irish surname but I don’t know much about Mr Castlereagh.
@michaelrogers2080 Thanks! 😃🇦🇺
Australia is also the only place where its coat of arms can be found in its menu! haha
Oh I didn’t even think of that 😆
Australia - Kangaroo.
Denmark - Swan.
Finland - Bear.
Saudi Arabia - Camel.
Sweden - Elk.
Spain- Bull.
Japan - Carp.
Blue Marlin - Bahamas.
and many others :)
At least you are not obsessing about guns like you were in the first blog. You have changed somewhat.
My Australia is a continent a country and the largest island on the planet geographically best of all worlds you didn't go to the snowfields 😢
I'm surprised that you can not hold the Koalas anymore. That must be a new thing .
Social status does NOT exist in Sydney, yes there are snobs but not a consideration of social status, just does not exist.
That goat would eat the paper bag if you let it.
As an Australian it’s a country new Zealand and papa New Guinea is technically part of the continent
Thank you for your honest feedback on your trip to Australia
You did a wonderful job, as a black traveler for people tp view and reference.
Don't judge Australia from just Sydney 😂
100% you are right. I’ll see more. This is just my assessment for this segment. Thanks so much for watching!

I'm really sorry about your nasty experience at the airport in New Zealand, cheers Rose
Thanks so much for watching! I’ll be in Melbourne next time for sure. Thanks so much for the support!
So misinformed about our kangaroos. So sad listening to you say what you did about them. Onky the farmers and government perception. Rhey have been ddecimated over the last 50 years. But glad you enjoyed our country
