Nice video content! Apologies for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you heard about - Weydaniel Organized Dominator (google it)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for getting 7000 plus project management and business templates without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my m8 after many years got excellent success with it.
It's the best gantt chart tutorial I've ever seen! I looked it up a few years ago, and didn't find any solution this clean. Very amazing!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm very glad it was helpful!
You are absolutely awesome. The end result is very elegant and simple. I actually typed the formulas myself instead of using the template, so that I could understand everything you did, and it's amazing.
I'm very glad I could help!
Very generous of you to share both the template and the instructions on how you created the formulas so we understand how it works. I used your template, shared with a client and received positive responses from them. Big Thanks!!
I'm so happy to hear I could help!
I think this is the best Gant chart tutorial in UA-cam. Congratulations!
I am so grateful for your sharing. I am planning a project to refurb my apartment and this tool is just what I needed to look like a careful and responsible Self Build project manager when I come to present the project to a Lender. Many blessings to you.
This is a very well thought out tutorial and excellent final Gantt Chart in Google Sheets. Thank you for making this available Ilya!
This was wonderful. it's exactly what I needed and your video was very helpful to watch to explain how each thing worked. Sometimes templates are confusing because you have to decipher what it does, if you need to tweak it, but the video removes that problem. Thanks!
Wow wow wow, the most amazing Spreadsheet tutorial I’ve found so far. Excellent step by step hands on illustration both visually and logically. You’re among the best talents I’ve met. Thanks so much.

This kind of videos are very helpful to students. Please keep doing this kind of work. Thank you!

Ilya - Fantastic video. I'm just migrating from Excel to Google Sheets, and this is really good.
The collaborative aspect of Google Sheets is great, and I find that most functionality of Excel is there. Hope the transition goes smoothly for you!
Thanks man really helpful, really great voice & explain so gentle, easy to understand, absolutely useful for newbies like me
Thank you for your kind words! I'm very glad I was able to help!
Excellent guide. thanks. Just one tip: if you want to prevent the dates from auto-incrementing when you drag the corner of the cell and then having to manually clean up the dates, just hold down CTRL while dragging and all the dates in the following cells will be the same as the initial cell's date.
Glad to help! And thanks for the tip!
Many thanks for Sharing Ilya! Really very useful! and very clean and clear Explanations! Great!
My pleasure!
Ilya,
There is a great added value to your work.
I used your various formulas into my spreadsheet and it works just fine.
I'm glad you were able to generalize this work and modify it for your purposes!
Thank you very much for sharing this template. Will be using it for a non-profit related project and you would be a part of the impact created. :-)
I am honored by your statement! I hope your project goes well!
Thank you for making this,
Ilya!
Hello IIya, thank you so much for the tutorial i learned a lot. I would like to set up tasks that recur. say if i need to collect data every month
I was about to start one on my own, thanks for sharing!
Excellent video, the explanation just made my project life easier, thanks a lot. Question, how can I create groups of tasks with the "+" sign on the rows to collapse/expande when needed?
Bless you for doing this. It's very generous of you. Many, many thanks.
But their dates are not real.
The same is not true with real dates!
Incredibly helpful. Thank you for your instruction and the template!
My pleasure! I'm glad I could be of help!
Thank you very much! I thought that I knew something about Google Sheets and could even do some things. But after your amazing video I understood that I'm haven't even used yet this tool =)
I was definitely surprised at the amount of work that had to be done to create something as conceptually simple as a Gantt chart. But I was happy at the amount I learned about Google Sheets in the process. And I'm glad I could share it with everyone :)
Thank you for creating this video - it is really helpful and clear.
It's my pleasure! I'm glad I could be of help!
Good job! Thank you! Simple with the download example. I added this to my favorites.
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for a great video. I am using it for a master timeline for my office. I was wondering if there is a way to label the alternating colors representing the weeks as week 1, week 2, etc. Thanks in advance.
Спасибо, старик, помог разобраться в паре функций таблиц, о которых я не знал!
Hi Ilya, this is amazing tutorial. Would it be possible to actually have the weeks in separate columns rather than all in on cell? Can you help with that?
Hey, thank you so much for such an easy-to-understand style of showing how to create complicated charts.
I used the tricks you showed to create a cute chart for some tasks and it was great. However, I am having trouble creating a cart, where in one sell, parts of the line are dependent on the status of various cells. Do you know if it is possible to have different colors on the same line in a cell which are dependent on more than one cell's status (complete, upcoming), and if so, how can I do that?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks Ilya, currently working my way through this although some of my tasks only last one day in my project e.g. shooting a video interview and unless the task runs over 2 days I am not going to get a green bar in my sparkline.so maybe I need to add a +1 to make it show up?
This is beautiful, thanks for sharing your knowledge and the template.
I'm very glad you found it useful!
Nicely done...a very useful spreadsheet/gant chart and an excellent tutorial.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much. This is an excellent tutorial and helped me immensely.
I'm really glad to help!
Very good ! Is there any other way of outlining a more analytical day-to-day date bar on the top instead of the light blue boxes? Or will require a different approach of building the gantt chart?
Amazing. And inspiring. Love watching how you created. Learning a lot.
Thank you for your kind words!
Very helpful and awesome template.
One suggestion that is simple enough:
For the burndown, I changed the formula to "=SPARKLINE(IF(int(today())-int(B2)
That's a great suggestion! Thank you!
How can split the light blue divisions into months with labels (indicating April, May, etc?)
Thank you for the great explanation and for providing the template! Much appreciated!
It's my pleasure!
Is the "ARRAYFORMULA" applicable with the sparkline formula?
Thanks. Pretty much what I was looking for. I have one question. Is there a way to account for three or more dates in on GANTT chart? I'm thinking of using as a genealogy tool to track families -- No problem, following your instructions to do a bar for each individual using birth and death, but would there be a way to add, say, a marriage date or similar data to the "life" bar?
Brilliantly simple - GREAT job. thx
I'm very glad I could be of help!
Awesome tutorial and template. Thanks so much!
The Best Explanation !!! I referred to many videos , but out of all tNice tutorials was the best I could find among all .... Also got to know many tNice tutorialngs
Ilya, thank you for a great video. Way beyond my capabilities to produce from scratch but I hope to be able to use it. I notice that the updated version of the template, second on the page, no longer has the drop down option for Status. Is this deliberate? If so, why?
Great explanation. Thank you for this educational video.
Thank you very much. I got the problems after I have used your template that
The thing that is different from you,
Start Date and End Date of the Project >> I calculated min(date of all each Tasks) for Start Date and max(date of all each tasks) for End Date. However, it shows me only one bar lightblue chart. How do I fix it?
Great tutorial and just what I needed! I noticed in your template, you added a line in white for "today()". Is there any way to change that color? I'm thinking of having it match the burndown color. Thanks again!
What if I want to do a task two separated times?
How could I do it?
Thanks!!
This was a very helpful video, thank you!
Cheers from London, Ilya.
Thankyou very much! This is very helpful and your template saved me a lot of time!
I'm happy to be able to help!
