I agree 100% with using light brush strokes. I was doing a rather large flag for a customer and initially because it was so large, I didnt think I was getting the results I wanted. Then I stood back and was shocked at how well it looked. Shadows, folds, creases came to life surprisingly easy. Thanks for the video trevor.

Hey Thomas! Yep, it's always a good idea to take breaks occasionally in order to stand back and view your work from a distance. It's easy to miss things from our painting distance. Stepping back not only allows the artist to see progress more clearly, but it can also point out areas that may need to be adjusted as well.

Hi Trevor! Great technique and instructions. I also have difficulties duplcating mirror images. I will try to take a very good digital picture and reverse it in photo shop and print a copy. That way I can have a reference closer to the work. It really helps me. Just my two cents worth. Keep up the fantastic vids!

Hey Stan! That's a great tip and I appreciate you sharing it with us! To be honest, the same thing was suggested to me while I was painting this table; however, I was stubborn and didn't want to stop what I was doing in order to snap a picture, reverse it and print it out. Looking back, it would've made it a lot easier...

Can you recommend some simple projects that would suit a beginner please. I would like something tangible to show the better half to justify my airbrush purchase! Thank you

Hi John! Some of the simplest projects for beginners include painting different shapes like a cone, a sphere, a ball and a cube. The idea is to practice shading those shapes to make them appear 3 dimensional. I'll create a video or two covering these simple exercises in the coming weeks to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about.

It's funny you mention this because I had the exact same thought when I sat down to edit the footage. 🙂
