I just got the 5'9" FL combo and the 6'3" UL combo - first time using a baitcaster...I really enjoy them. The FL goes up to a 1/4 oz....I use a 1/16 jig head with a booby garland minnow and I can cast it 70 feet...that's plenty long for the rivers I fish. The UL goes up to 1/4 oz...using that for 1/8 oz neds, micro chatterbait and the same small whopper plopper....those cast 80-100 feet....that is with 8lb mono. As I get better at casting I might switch to braid which would make it cast even further....but don't need that right now. These rods are very stiff and fast action for Feather Lite and Ultra lite...and very forgiving for a beginner. I really like my spinning gear...but the advantage of one handed casting in a canoe or kayak is just beyond helpful.
Oh yeah, using bake caster is the most enjoyable way to fish in my opinion! Plus, they are a heck of a lot more accurate at casting! Remember to subscribe if you aren’t yet!
Gotta say, my first impression of the Kestrel is....meh.... I was casting a 1/16 oz lure on 8lb fluorocarbon. I was casting about 25ft. I'm gonna lube it up and try again. I figure I'd be getting closer to 35-40ft. Maybe I'm expecting too much.

I got 4 of those ploppers, but haven’t caught anything yet.😢 I look forward to get some of those rods.

I have only used the kestrel real as well as the kingfisher. It’s hard to imagine any BFS real to cast much further specially with those weights.
Which rod did you get ul or fl? And what ratio
Highest ratio, and UL kestrel rod!
