Possibly the best album ever recorded - a masterpiece.

When younger people ask about The Band?, I just put this on juke box…Was there anybody quite like them? Ever?

  • @jonathanstickel254

Yes… saw them live 5-6 times there was nobody like the Canadian / American Heavy Wood sound like The Band

This song is currently my top favourite to play on my drum kit!

The addition of the horn section elevated an already fabulous sound.

I saw one of the '71 Academy of Music shows, tho no memory of which performances were included here. High school sophomore w some buddies. Electric, rivetting and - above all else - utterly joyous! Truly one of the greatest live albums ever recorded. Peace unto you Robbie (Richard, Rick, and Levon, too). Party on Garth. Thank you.

Holland-Dozier-Holland, Marvin Gaye, and The Band...what a combo

Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, Garth Hudson, Levon Helm & Robbie Robertson. Listen to this incredible conversation these 5 special individuals are having with each other. It is absolutely beautiful.

I remember playing the crap out of this track on this album when I was in high school in the 1970s. Still love it almost 50 years later.

How can such a juicy bass line be played with a pick? Rick is a legend

I can never listen to this only one time. At least twice every time it's so great!

Allan Toussaint's horns make this performance memorable.

"My biggest mistake was loving you too much" is my favorite part of the song. Especially after the instrumental when it breaks with Rick Danko's harmonizing.
