Her Majesty Queen Margaret II of Denmark has demonstrated that she is a very wise and intelligent Queen, and who has immense personal qualities and excellent training, which allowed her to keep up with the times in the way she carried out her duties as Queen of Denmark.
This certainly difficult , but wise , decision by the Queen to abdicate the throne in favor of her son , will probably allow Crown Prince Frederik to be King at an age with adequate vitality to carry out his duties, and at the same time a way for Queen Margaret to be able to live longer years in health, since she will be freer from so much responsibility and so much work in your daily life.

Her advanced age and physical frailties aside, I believe the queen made her decision to hand over that Great Responsibility to Prince Frederick to keep himself Seriously Occupied and immersed in the Testing role of Kingship, something he was wary of and very reluctant with in his youthful past..Time for him to take the Reins after the queen Abdicates and focus more on Important Matters and Kingly Obligations that await him and a new era in Danish Monarchy..The queen wants to see this transition while she's still sound and around..🤔

I must confess that I am a little disappointed that there won't be some kind of coronation ceremony. Hopefully, they will have a big banquet with everyone dressed up (ladies in tiaras) to mark and celebrate the next chapter in Danish history. I must also say that for just 18 years old, Crown Prince Christian cuts a fine figure of a man. He has all the royal bearings of a true king. Denmark is in great hands from HM Queen Margrethe, to Frederik and Mary, to Crown Prince Christian.

When aren't royal weddings in Brunei 🇧🇳not completely blinged out?, lol To digress from the video a moment, is there a reason why Peincess Rajwa of Jordan 🇯🇴 hasn't been referred to as HRH Crown Princess Rajwa in videos when she appears in the with her husband? Is it for simplicity's sake since it's a given that she's a Crown Princess due to her husband being the heir to the throne?

Lovely time spent on the Danish change of throne, TY. I am seriously liking the " armchair/twitter " comment hehe😊 Monaco-ville goes to Antarctica, just seems like an odd place for him to go. Lastly, IF everything stays "status-quo" in Norway on Feb 25th, 2024 Queen Sonja should surpass Queen Sophia of Sweden/Norway as the longest serving queen consort in Norway -33 yrs 39 days. Queen Sophia- 33 yrs 38 days> Queen Maud - 33 years 2 days. Idk why I looked that up other than I was always fascinated with the story of Queen Alexandra and of course her children. Queen Alexandra's coronation portrait where she must be wearing every piece of jewelry that Queen Victoria had, the fact that she was a deaf queen later in life etc. And in 1905 how Norway separated itself from Sweden and elected Maud's ( mother is Q A ) husband as king.

Hi, Praktyknlp. The Proclamation was solemn as her father, King Frederik IX, died the day before on January 14, 1972.
We haven't had a coronation since 1840.
When Frederik becomes King what happens to his brother? Does he move up a spot or does he stay the same. Or does Frederick and Mary’s son Christian move up.
Christian will become Crown Prince. They will all move one place up
Christian is the heir to the throne, followed by his brother and sisters. Joachim is 5th in line. It's a long shot that will ever inherit the throne, so he recently moved to Washington, DC, and took a private sector job.

I think the proper title would be a Queen Dowager, as Emeritus is more for retired clergy.
Queen Dowager is the title for the surviving wife of a reigning king who has died. Thus Queen Elizabeth of the UK (the queen mother) was a dowager queen although she never used the title. It is a common amongst English aristocracy (a fictional example of course was the dowager countess of Grantham in Downton Abbey). Queen Margarethe is a queen regnant and Queen emerita (the feminine form of emeritus) is a title that reflects her current and future status.
Queen Margrethe will be known as Her Majesty Queen Margrethe ! As always…..

Love that they won’t be wasting taxpayers money to put on a circus. Certain royal families need to take a look at their burdens on the taxpayers.
If you are inferring that the recent coronation of His Majesty King Charles III put a burden on the British taxpayers, you don’t know much about the amount of money that the British Royal Family brings in from tourism. The British taxpayers would have a larger tax debt without the RF. They more than pay their way in paying taxes and bringing in tourists.
..or adds billions to the country's coffers. It has been proven time and time again the BRF is not a burden to the taxpayer. In 1760, George III surrendered control over the Crown Estate's revenues to the Treasury, the earnings of the Crown Estates (£490.8 million (2022) £486.9 million (2021)) to receive an annual payment. The Sovereign Grant, formerly known as the Civil List, is a set percentage of the profits (of the Crown Estates) that is given to the royal family each year. The total Sovereign Grant for 2022-23, amounted to £86.3 million (2021-22: £86.3 million), which is made up of a core grant of £51.8 million which funds official travel, property maintenance and the operating costs of The Sovereign's household. The core grant equates to 77p per person in the UK if the taxpayer were actually paying which they are not since the Sovereign Grant is derived from a percentage of the amount the Crown Estates earns each year. The idea that the taxpayer is bearing the burden of the expense for the BRF started many decades ago with the Republicans who were trying to topple the Monarchy. Parliament has no interest in abolishing the Monarchy as the Monarchy makes a lot of money for the British economy and the Exchequer (Treasury). Brand Finance estimates the monarchy's brand contributes £2.5bn to the British economy .
Perhaps Britain should stop spending a fortune that they don’t have to crown their Kings too. It’s completely outdated.

Sorry but I cannot agree. Our Sovereigns do not abdicate and it was over 70 years since the last Coronation. It is a wonderfully moving and historic ceremony.
I don’t agree. You cannot discount the effect Henry the eighth and his willy have had on religion in England. The crowning of the king in England is not only about the monarchy but also about being the head of the church.

If Parliament abolishes the Monarchy are you prepared to pay more in taxes to fill the economic hole left behind? The BRF still owns the Crown Estates, even though they surrendered the EARNINGS of the Estates back in 1760 for an annual payment (a percentage of those earnings). The British Exchequer (Treasury) gains at least 300 million pounds per year just from the earrnings of the Crown Estates. Then there is the further 2.5 billion pounds the BRF brand brings into the UK economy. Just how much hardship do you think you would be in if not for the BRF? You say the Monarchy is outdated yet an estimated 4.1 billion viewers worldwide watched the late Queen's funeral, King Charles's coronation was watched by approx 400 million people, the King's Christmas Speech broadcast was the most watched Christmas TV address by a monarch on record. Does that level of interest show the Monarchy as outdated? Edited to fix grammatical error.
