This is better than my university education
Rose Gocheva think of us as your new University professors. The tuition is free.
wow thanks for the fast reply. I've been watching your show for the past few hours and I've already learnt more than I could have expected
I wish they were in my college during my four years of art school, feel like I have learnt a lot from them than my lectures, lol
I wish they were in my college during my four years of art school, feel like I have learnt a lot from them than my lectures, lol
agree
Finding your channel is the best thing that has ever happened to my designing career.
and i found it on the same day that you posted this AMAZING video
Thank you so much
Farshid Persia big compliment. Thanks.
I saw your profile picture and I thought, "wow didn't know Stephan Amell was a designer" haha. then I saw your name. Anyways I agree, this channel is what is helping me establish my firm slowly as I go through college
is that the guy from Arrow?
yes sir!
me too..love his channel
If I ever succeed in design business it will be just because of you chris , I can't even explain in words how much I respect you and look up to you so much. You are truly amazing . I used to feel bad that I didn't make it to design school but not anymore because this practical knowledge is much more valueble than a degree.
It's been 2 years. Hope you're doing well. 👍
Not if, when.
L o
I have got a 5 years master degree in industrial design, i feel so bad because i made it to an expensive design school. I am here too! This knowledge so precious that they don't even teach it at school, I deeply share your words.
It's absolutely crazy. I've been running my own company since 2004, working my butt off but I've always lived from hand to mouth. Only these past few months I've started to learn and understand how to really do things the right way. At University they taught us how to design and be a good employee at a big design company, but never how to run your own business, work with finances and deal with clients. Most creative people just want to do what they love and ignore the money and marketing side of the business. Your UA-cam channel is as valuable as gold! I'm awake now! I'm expanding. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into these videos. You give so many designers hope and FREEDOM :D
Ronel van Heerden the sleeper has woken.
I learn way more watching The Futur than on my business class at design school.
something that is funny is I watched all of these videos when they came out... I now am going back and rewatching everything years later because I didn’t pay good enough attention. This is such valuable info, time to grab a pen and paper and tune all the way in
Literally, got answers to my all questions to transform my DREAM into REALITY!
It really doesn't matter how good you are. I have a BA at the best university in the world, I've been featured on the front page of Behance but I would give all that up to have is guy as a mentor from the start. Damn
great567 what's holding you back from getting a mentor?
The Futur I've tried. Steven Heller kept telling me to write, other designers kept saying do something unique but none talked about the business of design like you do. And...I just realized, you offer that.
I think it is important to acknowledge that in this day and age mentors do not have to be a person sitting next to you. I would certainly consider this channel and many books to be mentors. Everything is fluid and mentorship is a matter of your personal approach to and acquisition of knowledge.
Drew Douglas 💯💥
What Drew Douglas said. The information is out there, you just have to dig for it and be tenacious in your pursuits. The face of mentorship in the the digital age is quite different from what you'd conventionally think of, as maybe a person sitting next to you, coaching you along the way. Time is far too limited so it's important to find those new ways to learn that have developed with the times. Also, if you can't find one human to mentor you, you can find several that are able to give you smaller bits of time and you can learn from multiple sources and develop your own theories based off of that.
'You can survive if ONE OF THE TWO is present in an organisation -> 1. Good Leadership 2.Healthy and robust Culture. ' Loved the way you put that! Now I realise how some Senior Managers make an amazing mark amidst their subordinates who stick on despite their companies being super crappy! Something to remember when I fill those shoes.
Man, nowhere else you get stuff like this. These guys are so genuine!
Lol went to school for graphic design. Stopped halfay through because life happened. Worked in the financial industry now for 10 years, customer service, collections, auditing, and sold cars for a year. I feel like I'm primed a little in the business skills, but coming back to the start and pursuing the clients on the side now and building up my portfolio. I can say that even though I deterred I've learned some amazing things.
Same here
I didn't go to any design sçhool my designs were from someone else
“You planned on failing for three months” That right there is great because we or at least I never plan for failure, just for success (even though the fear to fail is there). I love the concept of planning to fail because that assumes you WILL fail and sets you up for winning even if you fail 🙌🏼
so many Gold nuggets on this vid. Like the way you talked about scaling up an old client, by focusing on gratitude, and offering a discounted (though scaled) loyalty rate. Good stuff man. I'm so thankful for all the insight you guys share.
"THE WORK OF MARKETING YOUR WORK IS WHERE WORK BEGINS"
by Christopher Do
Yeah that stood out to me too.
Awesome live! I'm happy that you guys wanted to speak live with the people that were watching and sending questions. This makes you closer to the audience.
Thank you for this!
Best,
Thanks Chris, to you and your team for really taking the time and effort to share all the valuable insights and information to help us out. The last 2 months I’ve been diving deep into your videos and doing my research to finally go full time and launch my agency. Thank you for everything you all do! Can’t wait to keep learning and growing
Great video, thank you so much! Im going to ask customers for their reviews. ALways heard this but never thought to implement to myself.
I am a photographer and I am loving your videos. The concepts that are being taught here apply to my photography business too. Thank you for all the great content.
awesome. we welcome everyone. glad you apply it.
I love this channel. Just discovered it. I'm a web developer and I have a few ideas I think are great so I'm thinking of going out on my own. Watching this video made me realize that I have runway for almost an entire year... And if I still fail I can just look for a job.
Thanks to you guys I've started my own small agency. I'm just a one man band with one i5 laptop, but I know I'll grow the more I learn from you guys. Thank you.
good luck on your journey.
wow nice to know that. give me your instagram so we can connect
Turn to 180° my mind, since a few month, I am watching your videos ! Very helpful! And very questioning, thanks Chris Do for your mind sharing!
my pleasure Christian.
You know what, you guys really change my mindset about business of design. Before I was think how to do my job better when someone come to me and ask me to do some designs. Yet now I understand that to start my business I need to delegate more and learn the bigger picture of my company like the plans for 1-3 years ahead.
THANK YOU!
Good content. Something that did strike me was the comment about not taking a vacation in 5 years. That's great if that's your thing. Another option is to be able to get systems in place to be able to make that happen. The "work life balance" is a pendulum that swings to each side and one side cannot be focused on for too long without removing from the other. A good book to read is Tim Ferris's 4 hour work week to see how you can put systems in place to be able to step away when needed
This has alot of depth. Thanks
This is GOLD, I've learned more in UA-cam with you than in my college. This is sh*t done right.
#testify
This is the longest video I’ve ever seen on UA-cam! And it was SO worth it. Thank you!!!! 👏🏻
oh do we have more for you. keep digging into the business series if you want more.
Very inspirational. I listen to you at work, jot down ideas, and work on my dream when I am home during the evening.
One day, the order will flip. you'll be working on your dream, then go home and listen.
I love this man. I've been struggling to find channels like this one. Oh Lord Finally.
welcome arthur. are you saying, "I love this man." or "I love this, man."?
The Futur lol!
Woah, Ben Burns did narcotics investigations? This dude is a badass.
Jonathan Bradley Bates don't make me send Ben to collect our money.
Ben took it easy on me! Stuart Carroll is the guy I'm worried about. Haha ❤️️
I send Ben first. Stuart is the "cleaner".
I’ve never watch a UA-cam video this long before but it was sure worth it. Thank you.
You’re very welcome.
Watch. Learn. Implement. Repeat.
Thank you so much for all the immense hard work and priceless content guys. cant appreciate the channel enough.
Suryaveer Patnaik you can help by subscribing, rating and reviewing the podcast. Much appreciated.
Thank you Chris, your contents are evergreen, this video is useful for me now as I am just about to launch my creative business, I am grateful.
I actually have been watching this and taking detailed notes since 8:00am and now it's 11:30am and I am just finishing it up. Totally worth it!
Now, put you plan into motion. Turn intent into action.
everything I need to know is one package in your channel...you guys are doing amazing!!
Guys, There is SO MUCH VALUE in your videos! I LOVE THEM! I binge watch them while working YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!
Well, this is just awesome. I just found your channel about a week ago and it has been so helpful, I'm from México about to graduate from college, I study entrepreneurship and innovation and just got founded to open my own design business, my parter studies digital art and animation and it is a really skilled designer. Your channel is the last piece I needed to be completely sure about this, and I'm really grateful to you, just wanted to let you know you are helping a lot of people.
Ricardo Besne thank you Ricardo.
Thank you for this awesome channel, sir! I will certainly stay tuned.
I actually like that your videos are long. That helps me focus and learn. I even listen to them while I'm working, instead of music. Thanks for everything guys. Keep it up!
Hi Ed. We are bucking the trend of short videos.
Love these panels, even though I'm in architecture/interior design, a lot of this stuff I find extremely helpful and relatable. This is all getting me ready to set up my own business in the online world ;)
Chris, these videos have all been tremendously helpful! Looking forward to watch more, and downloading whatever podcasts etc I can. Thanks.
thanks chaz.
Thank you guys for making all your videos!
you're welcome.
Thanks heaps for this guys. Incredibly useful stuff.
When I first started my freelancing , it was never planned, I started with a logo then a website to my teachers friend and the work started to flow, I even started to pay my university fees... which made me think why would I work for someone when I can work on my own... that was in 2001 ... when we used to charge really high prices easily... now it's getting harder and harder... but after watching a couple of your videos .. u made me reshuffle my mind and continues bringing design work :)
I feel your channel is not less than a savior to my life and career!
I just can't be enough grateful to this channel.
The tough time when I am all caught up in doing my dumb Designing job and my ever challenging freelance work which I love to do after my job...
I have always been trying to change the design standards going around me because no design agencies in my city (Vadodara, India) are doing an up-to-the-mark job!
I just aspire to amplify the Designing standards in my city!
So just grabbing all the bits and pieces of golden inspiration from you to build my brand and help other businesses with quality branding they deserve.
Thanks a lot, The whole Team! Much love to you guys!
YOU BE THE TRUE GURUS OF MINE!
Appreciate it!
Quickly becoming my favorite UA-cam channel.
how do we earn #1 spot.
Focus more on Sales and Marketing.
Dennis Chavours already have a whole course on that.
I have only viewed a small portion of the content you guys have. But if you're curious as to what are my favorite channels. Miles Beckler, Chase Reiner SEO, Josh Bachynski and Jerry Banfield. These people offer content that relates very closely to what I do, marketing product and apps on the internet.
From what I've seen your content is geared towards designers and design. I don't necessarily have a urge to consume all of your content like the content creators previously mentioned. Reason being because I feel like your talking to designers.
The video Chris did with Al Martinez is one of the first the video I saw of you guys and is my favorite one. I felt like Al was talking to me just as the people mentioned previously do. I'm sure he has keen knowledge on CPA and SEO. If you were to do a series of videos similar to this one, I would view it immediately.
I've always got a lot inspired by your video when I have no ideas abt my design career. Thanks, Chris , You guys did it very good.
Grace Zeng hi Grace. Thanks.
Thanx for all the great tips . I use a lot of it on my projects and it really pays off directly. Unbelievable!! For example the pricing of things .
Just throwing in more gratitude, Chris Do & TEAM! Thank you so much - when I am able, best believe I will join the Pro group or whatever I can do to give back. Considering I'm in debt nearly 10 grand for a University education that fell through and was woefully inadequate in it's digital aspects of design and I've learned more in the last month than 3 years there (NO EXAGGERATION) it's only fair! 🙏 bless up, namaste
Thank you Noah.
This entire channel is evergreen. Its awesome to see where Aaron was at this point compared to your follow up interview with him. Inspirational to say the least.
right? you can track along with who has changed, who hasn't, and where they're going.
It is great to watch again to see how futur has grown and changed over time - seeing where you were, and where you are now is massively impressive - but there is something charming about the slightly clunky, less slick and more relatable style of the presentation 🙂
With practice everything gets easier.
Thanks, Chris for your time and this valuable info even that so much time has passed since you published this video there is still more than enough information that is a great source for starting a new business, a truly amazing video!
You’re very welcome
This may be the best video from Chris ever.
Thank you Jack.
This is just gold! Thank you guys! ( Even Aaron with this low audio)
So crazy that you guys are releasing this video right now. 2 friends and I are completely tired of working our corporate design jobs. Separately we're bringing in freelance clients and recently we've decided to bring our clients together and work on these projects as one. It feels good knowing that maybe something could be starting here. I know we have SOOO much to learn but I want to say thanks to the team at Blind and Futur for all the information you are providing to the community. This info is key to the business part of the hustle (the scary part) but the more I read and listen to valuable lessons like this the more confident I feel tackling the next part of my career. Thanks again and keep them coming!
sounds like you are doing this the right way. good luck.
David Saucedo well damn.. it's weird that I'm doing the exact same thing at this exact time lol..
Evergreen video for graphic design industury
I feel that it is pretty important that this was filmed on my birthday. It certainly grabbed my attention, and this episode is important at my current stage.
well, happy b-lated birthday.
5years later, I’m using this video as a guide to start my UX design agency
Thanks for this. Watched whole video. Learnt a lot. ❤️
This is powerful. Thank you kind sir.
I am watching this video 10th time probably. But I had to watch this again because in an hour and a half I am going to register my first LLC Motion Graphics company
I love the breathing the entire time, but for real. Great knowledge!
1. plan, need experience first; 2. finance, need manage control; 3. selling, media content is key; 4. leadership, being beautiful; 5. documents, try learn things; 6. relationships, just do not promise.
wat? you teaching Chris? omg
I love the videos you provide. the only downside in recent videos, the subtitle feature does not appear. otherwise I improve my knowledge thanks to you. I hope to provide us with videos for graphic web design and cultre art (color, graphic style ..), thank you
thanx so much for sharing your expertise and experience! best wishes from Vienna, Austria
hello. beautiful city.
I am so--identifying with these podcasts on iTunes, Chris! Thanks at least a hundred grand.
Thanks RJ. You have some catching up to do.
AMAZING VIDEO. Very informative, i loved it! thanks chris and all the team:)

Thanks for sharing your knowledge dude. You're freakin awesome!
thanks on behalf of the team.
Thanks for the quality information, God bless you and everyone around you
thanks Rodrigo!
Will be great a follow up chapter about this but with less technical issues. I know it's been a long time since this video. But the same format, all the team at the meeting room with the sound green thing on the wall :)
Very good channel. You give me big motivtion. Thank you.
I love when Jose caballer is on, something about the polarization of both on a discussion. It’s quite genuine, cause of the balance it creates. Analytical vs practical, pragmatic vs dogmatic. It’s a lot of fun to watch each other’s style, it’s make pure entertainment. The other cats do t have Jose,s charm and humor. Maybe it’s a Latino thing, but I grew up in Eagle Rock with mostly Asian bros, but I’m a Latino. So go figure, but I see their energy as well thought out process. Which explains the viewer number, I come from a filmmaker background. So more of the fun stuff is what has made me a fan. And a beli ver of Do,s and Caballers theories. They’re like the new Scientologist s of advertising.lmao
Great video, thank you so much.
Sir Chris.... iam from Tanzania just graduated from education college, I've been seeking a person to learn from about doing serious business. I love designing iam just starting and from your first question i think its my inspiration for graphic designing came after seeking a better a cool way to exercise my drawing talents.
just wanted to tell you this sir, that there is a young man in Tanzania that you are positively impacting in business leadership.
Around 1:10:00 I actually paused this to go write a review on iTunes! Well deserved, thanks for the awesome content guys!
Sweet. thanks George. Much appreciated!!
Wow Wow Wow :)
Jay Guerrero you're welcome Jay.
wow, this is very informative. Thank you for your help guys:))
You guys are my vibe.
Huge fan of this channel. My only complaint would be your audio is kinda on the quieter side in most of your videos. However, beggars can't be choosers so I will continue watching. Thanks guys, keep it up!
Curtis Shapiro yeah. We tried a different mic and it was suboptimal.
Fantastic stuff, cheers to all of you.
appreciate it.
Thanks you guys I got a ton of insight
Wow, Chris you the truth bro, thank you so much for this
Thank you!!
Regarding 3 month runway: even if you're getting good work right from the start this a a good practice. A lot of my clients practice Net 90. That means that once I send them the invoice I might not see a check for 3 months.
Great video! Content like this would have been fantastic before we started our journey. Lot's of great insight!
better late than never. now that you got started, the other videos and materials we have might be better for you.
You guys are my new gurus!
welcome. dive in my friend.
I’ve been running my business for years and still find incredible nuggets of authentic and new information in every video I watch by The Futur. When is your next Business Boot Camp?
Insight Design Solutions, Inc. we need to officially wrap, send out certificates. Then assess and then launch again. Give us a few weeks to sort this out.
Of course! Thank you.
This is great stuff. thank you
GOLD!!!!
Happy to hear you guys talk about East Africa...I'm from Uganda and been follow all the way from #skool to #theFutur
you gave me an idea for our next live broadcast.
you guys are TOP stuff!
This is golden ⚱️
Definitely a fan of you guys. Seems like you guys are fun to work with also. Right now I think I'm in a quarter life crisis, "to travel to another country to work creatively or to go back home and create my own studio". I get so fed up thinking of it and at the end of the day I'm just like "f*ck it! just create amazing stuff".
Great tips and experience sharing! I am learning some harsh realities that I failed to see.
please hit that like button.
thanks guys
Great video guys!
