  • Why Develop Villages to Save Tigers?
As human population in the villages increase, the villages expand and the surrounding forest begins to thin out. This leads to more interactions between people and wildlife. To ensure that the public perception about wildlife doesn’t turn negative, #WCT has been running a novel #environment #education programme in the Bramhapuri Forest Division.
Children learn about their environment and the wildlife that shares their neighbourhood, through activities that involve role-play, and making and describing observations. They learn about the food chain, and the importance of all organisms that constitute it; the causes of human-animal interactions, and the best responses in such situations; and the human-made obstacles that wild animals are forced to navigate.
In this video, the blindfolded child plays a wild boar that is forced to cross several man-made hurdles to reach a source of water.
