Hi! This is very informative. Thanks for this :) I just have one doubt - why should the distance b/w the 2 vanishing points be equal to the diagonal length of the picture frame?
It will make angle 45° between mid point and each vanishing point .If both vanishing points have that angle( it is optimal angle, i guess) it will reduce distortion
Hi Kaushik, this is one of the ways how to locate the 2 vanishing points. There are other ways like "architect's method", for instance. And it's one of my favourite ways as it's so easy :-) I was taught it when studying Interior Architecture at the Art Academy. Thank you for your comment.

Then a random line that would be parallel to the imaginary Vertical Line(y). Then the Girl whos not using any fancy program or even a ruler has it 100percent explained in 2min of a 4 minute video. You deserve more suscribers than this. I have to go plant some links.
