Hiya Tammy! Those swirls are awesome! But wait.. for some reason I thought you had to have a 'specific' type of soap for soap piping, you can just use your regular recipe and let it thicken? That's slick. Thanks for all you do and the smiles you bring :)
nope! Don't waste precious time in making a whole separate batch. I do know some that do, and they have special recipes just for piping. I'm not knocking it but I'm kinda knocking it 😂 "Ain't nobody got time for that" (well I don't anyway)😆
aw, thank you so much for your comment!💕 yes, the olive oil is really hurting us right now. I'm trying to hold out on raising my prices, I'm going to give it until next spring/summer and reevaluate things...🤔
This is so pretty! Love the colors!! I have seen Nathan from Clover Soapworks uses Winter White mica from Nurture Soaps to get his soaps white instead of titanium dioxide. Haven’t tried it myself, but his soaps are super white so I am going to try it.
Thanks, I have a white mica from Mica's and More that I have only used a couple of times. - Maybe I will try it again and see how it goes. I may try the Nurture one if it doesn't do very well. TD is a pain in the butt in my opinion 😆
Olive oil here in Tasmania by bottle is even more than double. I don’t want to exchange so sourced 10L from a grower interstate which came in fractionally cheaper for virgin olive oil than our imported 3L x3 bottles. Then cocoa butter has gone through the roof. All just as I get ready to sell!!!! Congrats on 20,000.
oh my cocoa butter!!! I had no idea because, thankfully before they jumped in price, I stocked up when WSP was having a big sale - now I'm pretty much hoarding it LOL It's tough, I hope you sell really well to make up for it!! thanks for the congrats! I had no idea I would ever get there - I may have to do an update type video soon. Especially as I am running out of them and have not been making lately 😳
DANG IT!!! I KEEP forgetting this trick! Thank you for reminding me! I'm sitting here literally shaking my head at myself because I knew this was a thing - well at one point in my life I did 😂💕
That is such a Christmassy soap! It reminds me of a vintage holiday card, with the deep, muted colors. For the stamp, could you tap it in mica first (maybe green or gold?) and then stamp it on the soap so it shows up better? I've seen other soapers do that.
Hi Andi! I could have used the mica, I have done that with my hummingbird stamp a time or two, but this soap was too busy I think to add that. I did get to use the stamp in a soap soon after though, super cute (even if it did break on me LOL) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!😍
Olive oil prices are insane. I buy it from Soapers Choice and last time I checked it was $140. for a cube. When I first started ordering it a couple years ago I'm pretty sure it was $80 some dollars. I bought some this summer and it was $126 I think and now it is the $140. I've had to alter my recipe and use more sunflower oil and cocoa butter to help keep the cost down.
I’m new to soap making may I ask a question… what are you mixing your colors in? Oil,alcohol, water? Beautiful soap Thank you for sharing! I have the same problem with the TD-white and it has cracked the top of my loaf as well.
of course you can ask questions - I mix it in either some of my soaping oils, or more likely just a little bit of olive oil oh goodness, I have not heard of TD doing that to soap...but all these years and I still learn new things all the time LOL
serious question. why do i only see a back and forth pour and never criss cross with a side to side?? my mold isnt very wide but on a mutli loaf mold would be easy. have u ever tried this to see what u get on the inside??
A couple of reasons - one is if you use a hanger tool you run the risk of muddying up your design, the other is (with no hanger) the colors would be more just lines across the bar. It is all in the way it is cut. I actually thought about doing that on purpose for a cool effect... thanks for your question because it reminded me and I am def going to do it!💕
How in the heck do you make a mess with the cubetainer? 😂 I switched to HO sunflower oil and get the 30# cubetainer. I keep the 7# jugs to refill and reuse.
ok well see, here's the thing 😂 I had carpet at the time...the spout would leak after I shut it off...the carpet became so freaking gross before I thought "duh" put a towel under it LOL I have been a bit gunshy ever since. I like your idea of reusing the 7# jugs!! 🤗 did you replace all of your olive oil with sunflower? I thought about it when I run out.
@ I did. It’s so much cheaper! And it still functions in the same way. I always turn the spigot upwards after I fill up the 7# jugs. Once enough of the oil is low, I push the spigot into the box too.
Gorgeous! ♥️
why thank you ma'am!! 🤗😍
It’s super beautiful and cheerful soap. Great job Tammy!
thanks Clivia!! 💕
Very pretty, thanks for sharing
thank you for your comment! 🤗
Yessssssss! I think they are soooo pretty!!!
Thank you Diane!! 💕
Very pretty. Love the piping and design.❤️
thank you so much! 💕
Beautiful soap. The second method of piping was more effective plus it was a lot quicker, so double bonus❤
I think so too! That whole picking up a bag for every dollops was getting old fast 😂
It's so pretty! I love the piping! Excellent job as always! 😊😊
aw,thank you so much Nora!! 💕

Agreed! Prices are painful! What a gorgeous Christmas soap. Can't believe we're already near that time of the year 🎄
hi Shonna! Thank you! I know, it does not even feel like it should be anywhere near Thanksgiving let along Christmas time 😍
Very cute Tammy!
Thank you! 🤗💕
❤❤❤
Yes! I remember when the 2 bottles of olive oil was $14. It makes me sick but I hate to increase my soap price. I enjoy watching you make soap.😍

Hi Tammy!
hi Aubrey!
Gorgeous! Have you tried adding a little bit of purple to cancel the yellow? It's supposed to create a brighter white.
DANG IT!!! I KEEP forgetting this trick! Thank you for reminding me! I'm sitting here literally shaking my head at myself because I knew this was a thing - well at one point in my life I did 😂💕

Right?! I am hoarding my cocoa butter - that has risen as much or more than olive oil! 😳
