So I'm officially off the uber and lyft hamster wheel! Almost 10 years with uber 8 years with lyft 22k rides total . Most of those with uber . Kept a 4.99 rating with uber. I start my new job tomorrow in health care. I drove in the San Francisco Bay area. Uber and lyft has been dead this year. It's been a ride....

What I have noticed with lyft!! If someone changes the address, the system will automatically revert back to the old rate car....

Regarding the cancellation fees for extra wait time, it's happening in AZ, too. Drivers have to contact Uber and argue with them. Sometimes Support will honor your request for full payment if you can provide screenshot proofs. Sometimes, they will just send ambiguous messages to wear driver out and nobody wins. Driver just stops driving and goes home. Taxi cabs get more calls then. Uber stock declines. Domino effect. Blame tech support, investors.
I’m sorry but not EVERY STRIP CLUB here in Vegas pays a “kickback”. Some only pay $10 per head and others pay nothing. A driver has to know which one is which AND we are not allowed to talk a request to go a certain business and “divert” them to a kickback paying location. Finally, this concept was created by the taxi/cab companies. When Rideshare came to Vegas, these places didn’t want to give any KNs to Uber and Lyft drivers. This last issue is a rare instance where Vegas drivers got together to boycott non kickback paying businesses and only recommended the few that went against not paying r/s drivers a KB.
I bought my 2023 Toyota Corolla SE Hybrid to mitigate some of my operating expenses. All the fancy categories you guys have don't exist in my market except XL. I have saved so much money gas and frequently replacing my breaks. Also throw in the fact in the state of California doesn't require hybrids to pass emissions for 8 model years (as long as you don't sell it before then). I wouldn't say buying a new vehicle is bad as long it is for the right reasons. If you buy the fancy cars you better work on your networking skills and market the hell out of yourself to survive in this market. Otherwise stick to a beater vehicle if you are not going to market yourself.
The rideshare professor said that the uber loss was mostly from lawsuits, but uber didn't want the public to know so they made up another story about the loss instead.
He knows less about things than you think he does.
I realised this when he was commenting about an issue relating to the UK.
I was surprised how little he actually knew, and how he was taking information from several years ago and trying to add his own opinion
He also tried to get Gio sacked from the Gig Economy…
That's true the are getting sued every where for their dishonest practices.
In-driver any good?
I have a 2011Mitsubishi Outlander. I put it on Uber and Lyft but have never used it. It has 7 seats. Mitsubishi says third row is for people 5' 2" and shorter. Lyft allowed it to get XL rides. Uber does not. If I ordered Lyft XL and an Outlander showed up, I would not be happy.

This is great! More competition. Prices will go down for the consumer. It will be who does the customers right. Who will support the customers the best. I have a question…. If rideshare companies and drivers have a developed a you tube channel to gripe and complain about there business woes, you might want to try a new profession

Side note. I used to brainstorm my ideas for a new rideshare compact in SF while driving. I wonder if this new company's employee took a ride with me. The concepts are eerily similar. But my new rideshare company's name is the best ever.

With the price of gas $3.00 ride is a BIG DISRESPECT to the driver
Question if you dont mind. I did my first surge last night and it paid $18 for a ten minute ride. Today when im looking at trip info it says the customer only paid $8.98 "Customer price Total amount before promotions" Is Uber paying the surge to drivers out of their own pocket or am i misunderstanding something

Do you wait 8 min for but only get paid for 5. For a killer bonus of .50 cents. If they wait till the last sec. Or cancel after the driver over plus the wait for a big big bonus of 3.45 cents
A friendly message from uber. When that pickup is 18miles away. For $7.50. Unfortunately, the time spent driving to the pickup location is not included.

There's an institution called the Labor department where you guys can report all of this shavings and squeems uber and lyft are doing to drivers plus not paying all online hours but you guys are to afraid to report them. Evertime there are changes like this there should be a 1 week protest and massive complaints reporting all of this changes to the labor department i beth you they would corrected right away.
How much would you need to prove before a class action lawsuit??? Like hundreds of thousands or millions meaning you need proof from hundreds of thousands of drivers, so they know that getting all that and organizing it into a lawsuit is impossible
