Hooray for Claire Keegan! I actually found out about her-not through BookTube-but through an Audible sale a couple of years ago. I was drawn to the cover of Small Things Like These and didn’t know the author was so highly acclaimed. Once I found out it was a Christmas time story, I tried to time my reading accordingly but kept forgetting. I gave up and listened to it early in 2024. I re-listened to it this last Christmas and then bought the physical book. I think there’s a good chance you’ll appreciate her style!
Im very much looking forward to reading more from here. Any time an author can write such a powerful short story im interested in what they can do in a longer story.

Neat thing about going back in to a house you've lived in. I moved and then I had a friend move and renovate my old house and his bedroom was my old bedroom lol. Sun eater is really enjoyable. I'm gonna get to Demon in White in late Jan/Feb. Me and you are at the same point in Malazan. My goal is to read house of chains in Feb/March but to have at least 3 Malazan books in 2025 and then finish the series in 2026 if I decide to continue.
I loved Edge of Tomorrow when I saw it in theaters and read the book last year and liked it just as much. I believe it was a graphic novel first then got a prose version later. Regardless, I really liked it. Hope it's a good read for you.

Nice stack to open the year with. House of Chains is one of my favorite Malazan books, hopefully it hooks you and you don't end up spreading it out as with Memories of Ice. I like the Charmander thingie by the way, and that looks like the FS edition of All The Pretty Horses! Given it's one of your favorites that's pretty sweet to have.
My hope is once I start house of chains I really focus on it but we will see. The Charmander was a birthday gift! I have a friend who gets me one every year. I have a few really buff Charmanders lol. And yes I was lucky enough to get All The Pretty Horses folio edition. Its beautiful. Im going to be moving some books around on my shelves soon to display some stuff better
All you need is kill was great! There is a manga version as well but the book is my favorite. The movie changed the ending so even if you watched it you'll still get something new out of it.

Please take this with a pinch of salt as I am only 4 volumes into the Frieren manga but I think the anime is definitely worth the watch. With the manga, I wasn't sure I wanted to continue as she came across quite emotionally cold but the show really changed that for me. The animation, music and the emotion comes across in a way I can't effectively put into words. I would be interested to hear your opinion on them both if you do decide to watch it!
As a long time manga reader I gave up reading One Piece, with it having over 1000 chapters I made to around 350ish. The manga just wasn’t as entertaining to me as the anime so that’s what I prefer. The trouble with a lot of newer anime is you’re not guaranteed more than one season, so usually if you want the whole story manga is the better route unless it’s mega popular. Also in all my years you’re the first person I have come across who has actually read Dragonball haha. I was an anime watcher for that and all of its many seasons.
Yeah i just got so tired of wanting more of a story when i knew I could just go and read it to find out what happens. I also do have some trust issues with not only a anime only getting one season but also with the quality just dropping off super hard as the series goes on. The Dragonball manga is actually super awesome. The drawing is crips and clear and really just shows the story well.

My plan for 2025 manga wise is to start Tokyo Ghoul . Finish Komi can’t communicate manga and the kingdom hearts manga. Book wise is to finish the Harry Potter series im on book 5/7 or will be when I start it . Then to finish atleast 2/5 of my book shelves.
Foster is one that is making rounds on Yt. The other is Small Things Like These. I have Dark Age by Pierce Brown , Zodiac Academy by Caroline Peckham, Towers of Midnight by Robert Jordan,Brandon Sanderson and Out of the Gate by Elsie Silver
@@TomOrange frieren is the highest rated anime ever on MAL "my anime list" website and has overtaken full metal alchemist brotherhood as the top spot that it has been for years at a 9.3, i don't know if it deserves that spot but it goes to show how great the anime adaptation was and the impact it has had on people

I want to start the Jenny Wurtz books but I’m a bit intimidated 😊 I’ll be continuing on with the Sun Eater series jumping to book 3 in January
I would recommend starting with one of her stand alones! I have not read it yet but I know a lot of people really like "To Ride Hells Chasm"
