I feel like “Bad Gear” can still sound great but the “bad” qualifier usually just ends up being clumsy controls. Like look at the DX7, Brian Eno is proof that those things rule, they’re just a pain to program lol
Alles Liebe, ~ Rainer
1010music made the knobs small and close together so you can tweak both with one hand while you drink your beer with the other during live sets. Such innovation! 😛
The demo track you made for this one ab absolutely slaps. It's infuriating that you are so great at making dumb gear sound so great and appealing, but what you really demonstrate all the time is that it's not the gear that's going to make or break your music, but your ability to actually make music. It's wild how you learn to use so much different gear, and is so impressive. Another awesome video, and another piece of gear I'm not going to have to go into debt for. 🎉 Cheers, mate.
As a beginner looking for which thing to get into, after years of watching videos about synthesizers, standalone production machines, trackers, modular synths and op-1 videos I finally made my decision and decided to buy a guitar lol
I like it, would not complain about owning one! Now added to my somewhere-down-the-line-GAS-list. You know, after I've acquired about 42 other synths already on my list 😅 PS. Congrats on 100K, you deserve it 👍
Interesting review, I love my fireball. I can understand why some people would have some complaints about it but overall the sounds are original and easy to edit. And it has a very small footprint.. For someone like me who doesn't use DAW's for sound production it has reserved place in my studio.
Try the Lemondrop. It’s the granular synth version. I find the tiny size to be no real problem and the sounds are superb. I think it’s the better of the two. Not tried the drum box one yet. And congratulations on the 100k, well deserved.
Touchscreen UIs is the greatest trick the devil/tech industry ever pulled on humanity. It completely excludes the visually impaired. It doesn't make it better for the (able-bodied) user. It simply makes it cheaper for the manufacturer (and easier to get away with unfinished/nonfunctioning machines).
I feel like I should pay to view his profoundly informative and entertaining vids. I don't want to- I'm cheap- but I feel I should. Like Monty Python + honest, intelligent analysis = this brilliance.
Its reverb sounds grea- sorry, all I can think about is the what's in store for the Volca Bass!🤔 (Sorry, I was late to the Sonic State party... Blown away to see the Pilz!!)👍💯💯
Fireball. A ladies purse-synth. Fits in a clutch. Gentlemen can slide it into the folds of their cummerbunds or the ticket-pockets of their Tuxedo jackets.
Have a Kemper Profiler? I recently started using it for my synth effects and it sounds phenomenal. Delays and shimmers best I've heard yet. Computers just can't do good distortion FX. It solves that problem too.
First, I hope your jaw gets better soon. Lol on the Nano size not generating the same meme response--is it because the Volca came first or is the whole world a size queen--hard to say. The Fireball seems nifty for those in need of a small footprint for that particular scope of sounds, but yeah if its keyboard is making a Monotron look like a grand piano, then one must be after its sound.
My biggest issue with the 1010music stuff is that not only are they USB power only - they don't have a power switch, but start instantly when you connect the USB cable. Haven't experienced it myself, but seems like a lot of people have issues with theirs randomly turning off/rebooting as well. It doesn't feel like a very safe combination with how they rely on SD cards for everything, it randomly turning off in the middle of a read/write operation could corrupt the card.
It does sound nice but at this price range I'd expect better than the cheap plastic box it comes in. On a more serious question though, where would someone soon visiting Vienna get some nice traditional Bienenstich there to celebrate the 100k subs?
I've been wanting one of these forever but I just can't justify what you get vs. the price. Especially when there are so many other capable mico-synths outer there, Roland S-1s are €200, MicroMonsta 2's are €265, etc.
Hey where's the 20 year old MK1 Oxygen 8 gone? This is too posh for me now! Sorry spoke too soon she's there in the jams! Phew. Little box sounds amazing can't knock it! Congrats on 100k.
as usual, very commendable. i admit that i am starting to lose the thread; are you truly roasting "bad" gear (for some value of the word "bad"), or are you not rather demonstrating your talent as a songwriter with numerous competencies, or even showing your undeniable skills as a video editor. who are you, the world wonders . . .
As this thing has a touchscreen anyway, for this price point I absolutely don’t get why you can’t just use an iPad instead. The usability of the latter is much better and it is more versatile.

I pretty much liked every patch you demo’d. I appreciate the time talent and effort that goes into each of your videos.
Thank you!!!
Could this be yet another contender for the _most-bestest timbre-per-square inch_ non-competitive no-prize _???_
I feel like “Bad Gear” can still sound great but the “bad” qualifier usually just ends up being clumsy controls.

I like that idea a little too much
it's true you can operate them with one hand. I roll one with the side of a finger. its a great interface design considering how tiny it is.
100k at last! This channel deserves much much more. You put so much love and effort to your videos. Keep it up!
Thank you so much!!!
@@AudioPilz Thank you bro for your work. Keep up the good work
Love the RK006! A wonderful piece of tech I can't believe more people don't own.

Dang, I kinda want a Nanobox Fireball now. 1010music should send you all of their.... bad gear
😀😀😀
I follow your channel for many years and you never disappoint me with your content, great video! Oh, the reverb sounds pretty good 😉
Thank you!!!
I was not ready for the dancing totoro 😂
I skip those little boxes mainly due to their price, but as usual you did incredibly well with it !
Thank you!!!
That second track had some serious Jean-Michel Barre vibes.
Awesome work, as always!
Thank you!!!
I am Not a musician And found this Channel. I love this Channel….
Happy to hear that!!! Thanks!!!
Bad Gear makes a good mood!

I wholeheartedly agree!!! Thanks!!!
7:39 Is life changing.
Thank you!!!
congrats on 100k
Thank you so much!!!
Nice . Roland adds enough gravy that I'm sure owners find it delicious . I would totaly opt for Uli's analog though .
Great episode 😊
Thank you!!!
Wait what, why is this cool synth is being hated?
Congratulations on getting 100k subs, Florian!
Thank you so much!!!
Some ideas : Korg R3, Rs 7000, QR10 Yamaha 🤣... Behringer crave, edge.... Not easy, this channel is almost full of famous gears
Great suggestions, thank you!!!

Shoutout to the Swedish gourmand Edward Bloom and his wife @8:15 📢 ❤
Yummy!!!
Thanks for another great episode. Please do one about Alesis Quadrasynth.... most dissapointing synth ever
Thank you!!! Great suggestion!
it's cool I didn't even know about it but love the Blackbox!
Blackbox is a different beast!
Congrats on 100k! Well deserved!
Thank you so much!!!
Could easily watch a 3 hour version of that last jam with that Totoro imagery!
Thank you so much!!!
Me too, it was surprisingly smoothly hypnotic 🍄
There is a orange one now!!!! Yellow, red, and orange!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Catch 'em all
1010-mon
that totoro scene was interesting man hahaha
Thank you!!!
If I'd spent half as much time programming my RM1X as watching your channel and pausing for the memes, I would have recorded some music by now 😅
Lol, hard choice;)
Happy 100K!
Thank you so much!!!
2:25 I wanted to start singing "Blue Flowers".
😂😂😂
Hell yeah Red Dwarf. Even the new stuff. Mostly.
Legend!
Awesome sounds. Not sure of the price but a 1U rackmount with double or triple the poly would be a confirmed purchase.
Agreed!!!

This behemoth reminds me of Keith Emerson's backline during his most indulgent live shows. 😂
Lol, good one!!!
Damn it sounds great! I thought about the pink one and yellow one, but the fireball looks like fun too!
😀😀😀
Choosing this one instead of the “drum machine” one is a head scratcher but entertaining none-the-less.
Razzmatazz seems to be such a fail that it not even generated enough controversy to justify a Bad Gear episode
@@AudioPilz I’d call that a fair enough assessment 😂🫠
Huh, I knew it was small, but didn't realize it was that small 😂
Sub-Volca stuff!!!
Poor ol Tim will forever be the free real estate guy 😪

Maybe your best yet - we plosively laughed a fair few times.
Especially the PWM meme.
Happy to hear that!!! Thanks!!!
If it wasn't for all the pausing to read memes on this channel, my space bar would last a very long time.
Mine lasted for a year;)
With that price tag, i would stick to my wavetable in ableton11 suite😂
It's around the price of Ableton Suite;)
2:17 The Batman

Volca Bass is the only remaining Volca, that's true! Thank you!!!
Been waiting for you to do this one lol. For like just a little more you could just get a Hydrasynth Explorer instead of that dinky thing!
True that, not a tough choice;)
Welcome to Badgear Friday 🙏
Have a nice one too!!!
That thing sounds... strange. But not unpleasant :)
True that!
I actually think this sounds sick but I can’t seem to find them available I’ve never quit an episode to buy something on it

I have 3 of them and I haven't had that happen a single time. I would like power switches though.
On the topic of wavetables, would the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth make a good April Fool's episode or some sort of joke episode?
Great idea, thanks!!!
It does sound nice but at this price range I'd expect better than the cheap plastic box it comes in. On a more serious question though, where would someone soon visiting Vienna get some nice traditional Bienenstich there to celebrate the 100k subs?
Thank you!!! Bienenstich is not for the faint of heart tho;) maybe try an Ottakringer?
It sounds pretty good, but surely there’s more to life than being really really really ridiculously tiny?
So smol;)
I must know where those booty slapping Totoro visuals originated
These are somewhere on Google search page 4
I've been wanting one of these forever but I just can't justify what you get vs. the price. Especially when there are so many other capable mico-synths outer there, Roland S-1s are €200, MicroMonsta 2's are €265, etc.

Red Dwarf!!!
Volca for scale? Which one, imperial or locrian? 😅
