Misti 16.0 acro glider / UP Paragliders / 8 runs on a serial edition

The UP Misti in an Acro All-rounder. The project actually started already back in 2015 before I signed with Gradient. The goal was a trademark glider for the acro scene a simple and very durable one. By the end of 2018 we went back to the drawing board with Franta Pavlousek to find out what are the essential points of such an all-round glider; and use the incredible design skills of Franta to build it.
The 16.0 is has underwent multiple revisions of triming including an additional factory trim adjustments to refine every single detail. I strongly believe it is as clean as I have seen a glider to fly. The wingtips are open even in very low energy and slack-line situations, resistant to unusual angles of attack.
The glider of this size, 16 square meters, is made and trimmed for a pilot with previous experience with acro, managing all tricks. But, it is the case like with the other sizes, if loaded bellow 4,5Kg/m2 (~70Kg Takeoff weight) is very easy going and a an amazing toy with soft brakes for light female pilots. On this video I am having 85Kg TOW.
The brake pressure is one of the essential characteristics and was the key focus of this project. The Misti like with all other gliders has a change in brake pressure depending how much you load the glider and glider-size/load ratios. So it is not one fixed variable, but it is clearly a middle-softness setup comparing to other gliders on the market. We conducted multiple tests of different brake geometries, profile changes, mini-ribs as well as attachment point positions to find the best balance. For additional brake pressure in helico-tricks and connections the bottom surface vents have been added. The final setup will make you feel the glider well. Shorter travel with pressure on the lighter side will give you precise control. And mainly; flying for longer periods is pleasurable.
