It's criminal that so many Bootle Santander staff and contractors have lost their jobs when the site closed in June 2022. Dave Ward couldn't be bothered to come up to Bootle to fight for our jobs. He likes to be seen on Post Office picket lines to make himself look good. Worked at the Bootle Santander site for 37years. TUPE transferred 5 times until I ended up with Paragon. Worked on site throughout the Pandemic to ensure customers got their ppi payments. The thanks we got was redundancy. Our jobs were sent to Dagenham and Sunderland . The CWU and the Bootle head union officer. A well known Deputy leader of Sefton Council stood idly by and did nothing. I have been a Union member for 45 years. All members matter, not just the ones from big organisations like B.T and the Post Office. Bootle staff were sold out by the C.W.U. Shameful.
They sold out postal workers too. My suggestion would be try and educate people so they stop giving money to this cesspit of self servers. They are just trying to round up new members now to fill the financial void. The CWU are powerless and they still spew out the same old rubbish.
Need transparency on the staff in Liverpool Lancaster House losing their jobs. Totally gutted for them all. Many good friends, colleagues and comrades still there
If we had continued with the same Conservative government that was in power from 2016 to 2021, union membership might have grown organically. While it might not increase as rapidly under Labour, encouraging membership remains crucial. How do you feel the Union can embrace the inevitable introduction of AI, in RMG Customer Service functions and more broadly...assure members that every effort will be made to ensure their jobs will be protected during that transition ?

What is the CWU doing about the fact that our BTPS is being used by the company as leverage to force people to either agree to leave within 2 years or to reduce the hours they work? Our pensions are being with held unless we agree, is this legal? What has been agreed with BTPS/BT? People are being forced to make decisions under duress, which may be detrimental to their financial well being.
