I still have my original one, which was given to me by my gran, for Christmas. It's not happy, though, which is why I got one from a car boot sale last year. I love the art in it, and I don't think I had seen 'Star Trek' until some time later - I do love Ron Turner's artwork for the strip here - he was great at drawing outlandish vehicles, so a rescue craft, and a shuttle/screw tank would have been right up his street. The other annual I got at this time, was the purple cover 'TV21' annual, which is my all-time favourite, which starts off with a suitably violent 'Captain Scarlet' story. There's a great 'Thunderbirds' text story in it entitled 'The Kettle', which I'd love to have seen as a TV episode. I used to enjoy 'The Champions' on TV, as did my father, but I suspect that, in his case, Alexandra Bastedo had something to do with it. Subsequent re-watching as I got older, made me believe he was right. Many years ago, my brother was off work for some time after an injury, and spent a lot of time watching cable TV. He told me that he watched 'The Champions' (which he had previously dismissed as 'a tacky ITC adventure show') because of the stunning girl in it, who he admitted, you could not take your eyes off of. "Join the club." I said. I have a 'Land Of The Giants' (series two had the best theme music) 'Spindrift' spaceship kit. It's probably too nice to make, though.
