4:40 this isn’t an argument because windows is just trying to make the power last longer you can override it I think that’s not really an advance or disadvantage on the other had the MacBook does had better battery life so
You can connect any gaming laptop to a 4k display. If most of the time you are at a desk using it, the full HD display becomes less critical. Then, the price difference is harder to justify. The legion has a 144 hertz display, and you are right, its hard to look at a 30hz 4k display after looking at a 144hz screen. The apple has no ethernet card.
@@TheEverydayDad Me too... just a liiiittle bit more power would go a long way. The 1650Ti is fine for where I am at the moment, but it would definitely help. Also, I upgraded the RAM and knew exactly what to do after watching your upgrade video, so thanks for that :)
I’ve been searching for a laptop for awhile now, I’m apple user as well, but everything in need to do for editing etc is right there in the razor. Thanks for the vid 👍🏾👍🏾💯
Another consideration for laptop cost/performance is the difference in cost for the applications you use for mac versus PC. My video editing application costs 3 times more on the PC platform than it does on the mac. That starts to close the gap on the cost of the different laptops.
True and final cut pro is forever transferrable whereas on windows you lose it you lose it for good. Assuming the non MacBook doesn't break before then.
Why would you upgrade to 64gb of ram? are you editing your videos, streaming, playing 2 games at once, watching 6 movies, and rendering a 3d model at the same time???
My only problem with apple laptops that the OS is so limited(you know what i mean) it's so hard/more hassle to do some stuff compared to windows. That's why i switch to alienware area 51m r2

The hardest part about all the comparison videos is what they’re being used for lol. I’m a gamer yes but only desktops I don’t use laptops. I’m not a video editor or graphic designer, I’m a programmer and have yet to see a review on a programmers take on these two
Um. Follow... your... heaaart? I guess? If you're doing programming on it the macbook should do fine and give you a better keyboard overall. If you don't mind a slighty worse keyboard and find the lower price point desirable then go with the razer, it can double as a gaming pc even if you don't plan on using it for that having the option is nice.
Would you recommend to get a new intel MacBook Pro 13" or wait for silicon MacBook 13", which will be useful for at least 3 to 4 years.?? Hope you reply....
If you need it now, buy it now. Every year will be upgrades. Next year they will launch silicon and probably will announced a "silicon 2.0" and you will be at the same situation
I use Mac and Windows too. Windows for Gaming and Mac for everything else. What i like about Macs is that they last me for years without any issues, and with little or no cleaning or maintenance. Unlike Windows i got tire to do all the cleaning and maintenance just so it run smooth after a few years.
I received my RB15 with the 2060 rtx back in May. After 3 solid months of use, and traveling with it on at least 40-50 flights, I can say my experience has been fantastic. I use it to game and for media consumption primarily when I’m away from home. I get 90-130 FPS playing Warzone on high settings with low shadows. Love this machine! If Razer granted 1 wish it would be that the screen could be a little brighter, other than that I love it ✌️
Pretty standard practice in laptops that can draw more than 100W under load, though. Having a battery that can cope costs money and would be drained very quickly regardless.
I get that, but defeats the purpose of the versatility of traveling with the device if you have to depend of having an outlast near to have max performance
macOS also uses CPU throttle while, low battery / high temperature / heavy multitasking. So when you say it not happens in the mac, thats actually not true.
I'm going to college on Setember and I don't know what laptop to buy. I like Apple produts, I have an iPhone XS Max and Apple Watch 4 and have a Macbook could be awesome. But I also enjoy to play games and editing videos in my free time. Also I have a Keyboard and Mouse from Razer that I use in my PS4. Could you guys give me some advise?
If you play games on ps4 you definitely should stick with MacBook also you got other Apple products so it will connect each other without problem. Also you like to edit video so iMovie or finalcutpro would be awesome for that work 👍
I play games on my Mac with BootCamp & Windows and it works well. The games are installed on a decent USB C SSD and this also works fine. In the native resolution of the MacBook 3072x1920? I get 50+ fps in GTA V Online on a bit better than mid/normal settings. And I‘m getting up to 40 fps in Forza Horizon 4 on Ultra settings in native resolution. So, I would say gaming on the MacBook isn’t impossible. :)
I actually have a 2015 15" retina macbook pro. Just got a Razer Blade 2019 RTX 2070. Everything you said was spot on. True gaming on the macbook isn't possible especially with an integrated GPU. Macbook for productivity and beautiful retina screen for sure. Razer Blade for amazing refresh rate and true gaming. I'm playing almost every game at Ultra without frame issues. Got best of both worlds.
Undervolting doesn't mean that you're getting less performance. Performance depends on clock speeds. And undervolting means to give processor a reduced voltage to make it run at same speed. You're confusing undervolting with underclocking.
The fact that the 5600m is as powerful as the 2060 and 50 watts meaning you can game without losing performance unplugged, even on windows boot camp. Plus those speakers....it’s hard to go to other laptops after hearing it, I think I’ll get the 16 inch MacBook Pro....when on sale!
@@MrPabsify and you can't game on an airplane or even charge, the speakers still suck (seriously 3 revisions same crap) and screen colors is questionable
@@Ifalvarado You definitely can game on the Razer on airplanes (on Macbooks you barely can on AC power wtf). The Razer has USB-C charging. Who really uses speakers on a laptop anyways? headphones are all over the place now and even a 30 usd speaker system destroys any laptop. Most IPS laptop panels cover a wide gamut of colors and almost full RGB range. I smell MacBook fanboy, they are sweet machines don't get me wrong but your facts are dead wrong.
By the way ,can you do a full-usage video on 16 inch base model 💻 MacBook Pro Like(editing, apps, how many apps can run at the same time, advantages when comparing to the 13inch MacBook Pro.) Thank you for this video, For me this video is the best video in your channel
It seems you should be comparing the Razerblade 15 advanced to the Macbook Pro. Did you do a fan noise comparison and what did you discover? Both units all out!
What you're paying for is quality and assurance. As specced out as Razers can be, my experience with them (after owning 2, the Blade Stealth 13" 2016 and 2019) is that they have terrible quality. The anodized aluminum scrapes easily, and the unibody casing does not protect the flimsy screen or internal casing. The 2nd one failed after just 3 months of usage, and Razer customer support was a constant uphill battle. I got it repaired after 2 months of waiting, and promptly sold the machine back for a Macbook.
For the price difference I get so much more by buying Mac. Customer service and dedicated stores where I can get my Mac serviced or exchanged. Software made for the hardware. These are two items that no other computer can offer. I happily pay the difference for those.
Razer Blade 2020 4k. Base. upgradeable to 64 GB ram. And has a second M.2 slot. Its great so far. Very fast in photoshop. Photo capture statio. Usbsss. Ethernet. Thunderbolt. Usb c. 10th generation. Its dope. Samsung Oled. 93% of RGB by my calibration test
Left apple in 2016 for obvious reasons. I've been a linux user since but I love high quality builds coming from apple. So razer has been my go to for laptops. Razer Laptop + Pop OS FTW!
Tbh u can never go wrong with a MacBook. Its just so portable and easy to carry around which is a big ups for me especially for a laptop. I’ve never found any other laptop that’s so versatile like the MacBook. Other laptops are just so chunky or the charger is just so huge its just annoying because if you’re a student its just tiring carrying those things around. Im glad i made the switch tho laptops are meant to be light and easy to carry around at least thats how i see it. But then again im speaking from a student’s point of view im no editor or anything haha. So if you’re really just gonna use your laptop for school and work i think u can take my advice.
Thats not how undervolting works. Undervolting means you're sending less power to the cause but asking for the same performance. Its a good way to get better Temps which in turn gets you better performance
Hey man, thanks for posting this video. I have to tell you this though, hope you can give me some feedback, would love your opinion: i bought the Razer Blade 15" Base model in December 2019 after about 2 months of research online. I had been using Apple for over 10 years for graphic design, photography and video editing, but because of crazy prices and lack of possibilities to upgrade a Mac, i decided to buy the Razer Blade for working remotely. Took the Razer Blade on a trip to Bali and 3 weeks later, while still in Bali, it stop letting me charge it. Ir became a crazy nightmare especially because of Covid19 and trying to get in touch with an agent in Razer, but I finally did, customer service has been very supporting and they sent me a new charger, unfortunately, i plugged it in and it didn't work, so the problem was not the charger. Now, after many months of back and forward, they are going to help me replacing the unit with a new one, however, i don't feel like I trust the machine anymore, and I'm thinking about selling the new one they will send and buying an Apple, so my question is: have you heard of many people having issues with the quality of the Razer Blade? It doesn't seem to be a reliable machine to me anymore, plus, i have seen a few forums with people complaining about similar battery issues, so your thoughts and experience will be highly appreciated. Cheers for your great content, keep it up and Thanks!
Great comparison. I've been using MacBook Pros for years now, primarily because it was the only viable option for my job. However, I've just recently changed jobs/careers, and my new company told me they're sending me a Razer Blade 15, which for various reasons is a much better fit for the work I'll be doing there. So, while I wait for it to arrive, it was good to see a bit more about how they'll be different, besides the Windows/Mac OSX, of course.
LOL Legion 5 is around half the price of the base Razer, which gets you a R5 4600H + 16GB + 512 SSD + 1650 in my country. And for around $150-200 more you can spec it up to 4800H + 144Hz sRGB + 1650Ti...
8 months on my razerblade advanced 2020... no more audio and the wifi connection lags like no tomorrow... I have to use my old laptop sometime cause of that.... it was not a great buy
Hey there, question here if I may: I see this Razer Blade has solved the energy plug issue which for I saw previously it blocked almost all the inputs available in the left side. So the way we see it here means Razer approached this problem and now if you buy this model it will come exatly like this? Thanks in advance.
Üdvözletem‼️ MacBook Pro 16’-hoz milyen laptop állványt ajánlanál, amit ágyban is lehet használni? Főleg olyan érdekelne, ami a felforrósodás problémát is megoldaná, ha esetleg sor kerülne rá Logic Pro-nál, Final Cut-nál, vagy GTA V-nél? Előre is köszi a választ!
Looked at both of these laptops tirelessly and ended up going with the MacBook. Idk there is just something special about the typing and trackpad experience on the MacBook!
I've been researching about what hardware to upgrade for the MacBook Pro 16", but I really can't decide yet. I want to use the MacBook for video editing (photos on the side), and I don't want to spend too much more than the base model. I don't think I should upgrade the graphics card, and I don't know if I should upgrade to an 8-core i9 processor, or stick with the 6-core i7 and upgrade to 32GB of RAM. The i9 AND 32GB RAM would be a bit too expensive, and upgrading to the 5500M graphics card is one of the cheapest upgrades but I don't know if it is worth it.. Maybe you would know what to do in my situation? My current laptop is giving me headaches with these slow choppy video playbacks inside Premiere. It's ruining my workflow.
Hey! I would absolutely recommend upgrading the ram to 32 gb, as that’s gonna make the most noticeable difference in your workflow and editing. While the core i9 is slightly faster (about 8-9%), the ram upgrade is definitely a better upgrade for the MacBook, it’ll be incredibly noticeable vs 16
Luke Larabee - Thank you for the tip! I think that I will go for the 32GB RAM then. I’d probably go for: i7, 32GB RAM, either 5300M or 5500M (not sure yet), and stick with 512GB storage and just buy an external hard drive! Been researching for 3 weeks or something so I hope it’s the right choice while not spending too much more than the base model
You misrepresented the MAC CPU there. Factually the mac is undervolting AND doing some turbo and other CPU settings magic to it to keep cool. Razer does this too though. The main difference is the i9 on Mac high end vs the i7 10875 on Razer high end, very different story than you paint IMHO. Agree with most of the rest.
Well you forgot something that is extremely important when it comes to spending a couple of thousand dollars: After sales support. This alongside with the inexistent quality control of the razer laptops makes comparison sliiiightly harder...
I have both a Razer Blade 15 and a Mackbook Pro. They are both around the same age and surprisingly enough my Razer hasn't had any issue, but my Macbook's touch bar's display stop showing anything on the right 10%. The MacBook Pro is still within the three year apple care warrantee period, but I didn't think it was fair for me to have to pay hundreds of dollar more for the already premium priced MacBook Pro so I'm screwed.
Congrats, you are the first channel i see on comparison videos that the macbook can provide full power not pluged on the wall. The main reason you buy a pro laptop is to be mobile and use in most diferent scenarios not depending on a wall to plug the device
I have mbp 16 and not happpy for 3d performance so i like to buy a windows laptop which can deliver higher performance but still thin and light. One of the option is RBP .I saw couple of comparison between highend windows laptop and macbook pro 16. The typical problem is : Most of windows laptop have superior performance until we unplug it. It just will drop the performance a lot. So can u share if this is the same case with RBP ?

@@MobilediscowirralCoUk I think only iPad Pro does yet
4:40 this isn’t an argument because windows is just trying to make the power last longer you can override it I think that’s not really an advance or disadvantage on the other had the MacBook does had better battery life so
Hi, i have a macbook pro 13 2018, looking to upgrade to the base model 15, hows the screen of both?
Hey do u think u made right decision choosing the carbon fibre
You can connect any gaming laptop to a 4k display. If most of the time you are at a desk using it, the full HD display becomes less critical. Then, the price difference is harder to justify. The legion has a 144 hertz display, and you are right, its hard to look at a 30hz 4k display after looking at a 144hz screen. The apple has no ethernet card.
Yes, XPS v Razer. I have an XPS 15 but the Razer was a close competitor. The screen on the XPS won me out though.
That XPS screen is incredible, I do kind of wish the 15’s had the 2060 or 1660 graphics card options.
@@TheEverydayDad Me too... just a liiiittle bit more power would go a long way. The 1650Ti is fine for where I am at the moment, but it would definitely help. Also, I upgraded the RAM and knew exactly what to do after watching your upgrade video, so thanks for that :)
@@TheEverydayDad That really would be the unicorn. I hate how often you have to go for the gaaAAaaAAAamer look just to get your hands on the hardware.
Chris Trostle - GeeksThrive Same here. I was really, really hoping for at least a 1660 on the XPS 15. Guess we can’t have everything though.
@@gimmeabreak4435 Not everything. That being said, the new XPS is freaking amazing.
I’ve been searching for a laptop for awhile now, I’m apple user as well, but everything in need to do for editing etc is right there in the razor. Thanks for the vid 👍🏾👍🏾💯
I have the New Razer 17 and it’s well worth it. It’s a gaming and productivity beast. Came from a Mac and won’t be going back anytime soon.
im going into IT for school. i dont think ill be using the razer 17 for gaming (if i do itll be for red dead). how do you like it so far?
@@TheAwkBlkGirl I absolutely love it my friend!
Are you sure Mac actually run the processor at its full power?
Another consideration for laptop cost/performance is the difference in cost for the applications you use for mac versus PC. My video editing application costs 3 times more on the PC platform than it does on the mac. That starts to close the gap on the cost of the different laptops.
True and final cut pro is forever transferrable whereas on windows you lose it you lose it for good.
Assuming the non MacBook doesn't break before then.
Why would you upgrade to 64gb of ram? are you editing your videos, streaming, playing 2 games at once, watching 6 movies, and rendering a 3d model at the same time???
I highkey wanna see the response to this…
My only problem with apple laptops that the OS is so limited(you know what i mean) it's so hard/more hassle to do some stuff compared to windows. That's why i switch to alienware area 51m r2
I have a razer blade 15 base model, even with the discrete GPU it still gets around 5 and a half hours of battery life! The build quality and looks are astounding too! Good job, Razer.
Does your fan run at idle? I have the 2020 base model as well
"other thesaurus words meaning clear"... i am actually dying of laughter 🤣
Perfect timing my boy, been contemplating between the Mac and Razer Blade advanced for a few days now and I think ima go with the Razer.. Thanks for the review !
If you got money get a Razer as you'll be buying a new one in 2 years🤣
@@ChrisParayno so youre saying for got a razer blade 17 and it broke? :) hope not
I returned my MBP16 for a ipad pro M1 and it was the best choice i couldve made. now ive ordered a razer blade 2022
I got the OLED non-touch 144hz 4k Ultra HD screen model with an RTX 2070 Max Q just like, 5 days ago. I am only missing Windows Hello, no touch screen, and the better cooling on the advanced model. Which I am more than happy with because this screen is gorgeous!!!! You would have loved this model if you got it if you are a fan of both PC's and Mac's.
Yeh, Blade vs XPS would be great to see.
Still loving my 2019 15” blade advanced. It’ll be two in April. About time to upgrade when those mobile 3000 series comes out.
isnt that boring laptop colour?
I hate the look of Mac Books.
"it looks a little less RGB" lol
Which is the better?? Rz or Mac?
Would you choose the Blade over the XPS 15?
Would you recommend to get a new intel MacBook Pro 13" or wait for silicon MacBook 13", which will be useful for at least 3 to 4 years.?? Hope you reply....
absolutely wait for silicon
If you need it now, buy it now. Every year will be upgrades. Next year they will launch silicon and probably will announced a "silicon 2.0" and you will be at the same situation
Please make a comparison video between dell XPS 15 and Razer Blade 15
I use Mac and Windows too. Windows for Gaming and Mac for everything else. What i like about Macs is that they last me for years without any issues, and with little or no cleaning or maintenance. Unlike Windows i got tire to do all the cleaning and maintenance just so it run smooth after a few years.
I received my RB15 with the 2060 rtx back in May. After 3 solid months of use, and traveling with it on at least 40-50 flights, I can say my experience has been fantastic. I use it to game and for
media consumption primarily when I’m away from home. I get 90-130 FPS playing Warzone on high settings with low shadows. Love this machine! If Razer granted 1 wish it would be that the screen could be a little brighter, other than that I love it ✌️
What’s the battery life bro?
about apple design i think it's not boring, it's stylish
I just can’t get passed having to have the razer plugged in to get the maximum performance 😩
Pretty standard practice in laptops that can draw more than 100W under load, though. Having a battery that can cope costs money and would be drained very quickly regardless.
I get that, but defeats the purpose of the versatility of traveling with the device if you have to depend of having an outlast near to have max performance
Yeah thats a windows thing that kind of sucks.
But regardless, love the videos and content💯 I pulled the trigger on a new i9, 5700XT 16gb, 64gb RAM iMAC⚡️⚡️
Michael Gonzalez You are gonna upgrade the ram yourself right? Seems like a waste of money not to
What about overheating? This is the only thing stopping me from buying my first Mac. Can anybody help me?
Exactly! I have heard that thermal performance is good in razer
To be honest i bought a blade as opposed to my usual Apple Macbook Pro .. and wow im in love... and i got it onsale!!!!
macOS also uses CPU throttle while, low battery / high temperature / heavy multitasking. So when you say it not happens in the mac, thats actually not true.
do these have glass screens? wasn't sure if any monitors were made with glass these days. for some reason I have always preferred it
I'm going to college on Setember and I don't know what laptop to buy.
Also you like to edit video so iMovie or finalcutpro would be awesome for that work 👍
Either would work, it just depends on what OS you prefer.
Oh, and SideCar with an iPad and a Mac is the greatest thing ever. :)
Herr Keks which model you got? Base mbp 16?
You're confusing undervolting with underclocking.
the play back in the video was choppy can you get a laptop that dose not have choppy playback when video editing
For the price of the 5600m Macbook you get the Razer Blade with RTX2080 Super which obliterates the Mac 3 times around, with ease.
By the way ,can you do a full-usage video on 16 inch base model 💻 MacBook Pro
Like(editing, apps, how many apps can run at the same time, advantages when comparing to the 13inch MacBook Pro.)
Thank you for this video,
For me this video is the best video in your channel
It seems you should be comparing the Razerblade 15 advanced to the Macbook Pro. Did you do a fan noise comparison and what did you discover? Both units all out!
Even a comparison between MSI Creator 17 "2020" and Raizer blade 15
Why would you compare a 17" laptop to a 15" one? Razer has a 17" laptop.
To compare performance
So how do the battery life compare and how will they compare in 1 to 2 years time?
undervolting shouldnt limit cpu performance
I literally just bought the blade 15. I’m friggin in love
Any issues and are you still loving it?
Macbook goes with my iPhone and iPad and it’s a great experience
"Macbook...quiet"

Which editing software do you use? Btw keep up the great vids 😁!
Razer Blade 2020 4k. Base. upgradeable to 64 GB ram. And has a second M.2 slot. Its great so far. Very fast in photoshop. Photo capture statio. Usbsss. Ethernet. Thunderbolt. Usb c. 10th generation. Its dope. Samsung Oled. 93% of RGB by my calibration test
Real question Is, what is better the razor or the XPS 9500
Left apple in 2016 for obvious reasons. I've been a linux user since but I love high quality builds coming from apple. So razer has been my go to for laptops. Razer Laptop + Pop OS FTW!
Even with the M1 the MacBook line up a Windows based laptop is just as good when it comes down to your needs.
the xps is power limiting the cpu not undervolting it
Tbh u can never go wrong with a MacBook.
Razer quality can be spotty with certain units. I also have a 2019 blade 15. As long as you don't get a lemon, it's very reliable
Thank you @@jared3726 , I guess I initially got a lemon. Thanks for your kind input.
my razer blade 14 is still going strong, however i do worry about battery issues after reading multiple reviews
And for around $150-200 more you can spec it up to 4800H + 144Hz sRGB + 1650Ti...
anyone noticing the flickering of Razor
8 months on my razerblade advanced 2020... no more audio and the wifi connection lags like no tomorrow... I have to use my old laptop sometime cause of that.... it was not a great buy
Hey there, question here if I may: I see this Razer Blade has solved the energy plug issue which for I saw previously it blocked almost all the inputs available in the left side. So the way we see it here means Razer approached this problem and now if you buy this model it will come exatly like this? Thanks in advance.
Üdvözletem‼️
MacBook Pro 16’-hoz milyen laptop állványt ajánlanál, amit ágyban is lehet használni? Főleg olyan érdekelne, ami a felforrósodás problémát is megoldaná, ha esetleg sor kerülne rá Logic Pro-nál, Final Cut-nál, vagy GTA V-nél?
Előre is köszi a választ!
Sadly, those who have problem with screen flickering will have issues with the Base Razer Blade - it's visible in the video.
No it’s the 144hz refresh rate not playing nice with 180 degree shutter angle from the camera. You don’t see it in real life.
Been researching for 3 weeks or something so I hope it’s the right choice while not spending too much more than the base model
do you like the razer better than the xps 15 or xps 17?
Has Razer sorted out its reliability issues? Battery bloating in ~2 years is a deal breaker for me (happened on my 2014 blade 14 inch)
@Maanav Khurana Thanks man, won't touch Razer for now
16x9 screen? What year is it?
How many RAM slots does the razer have
i really love ur videos thx for every thing do
Thanks so much!
I am really confused between XPS 17 (2020) and Macbook pro (2020).
Do you think the Mac can hold 3D element in Adobe After Effects
Even the mac book pro 16 under volt there cpu that is why you did have any thermal problem like razer.... so that case both are the same
Well you forgot something that is extremely important when it comes to spending a couple of thousand dollars: After sales support.
@@robertp457 sorry I did not get your point? Since it is still covered by the warranty provided what is the issue?
@@trenouba with apple products you got to pay 100-300 depending on the issue and it’s double if it’s not under warrenty

@Mango lacklustre ram? What does that mean? Expensive ram, ok, but what's bad about 64GB in a Notebook?
@Mango what would u suggest then?
I appreciate your perspective and cometary. Nice video. Blessings on your day.
Congrats, you are the first channel i see on comparison videos that the macbook can provide full power not pluged on the wall. The main reason you buy a pro laptop is to be mobile and use in most diferent scenarios not depending on a wall to plug the device
On the Razer you can change it in the BIOS or even overclock it. The GPU however cannot run 100% unplugged because it simply requires too much power.
