I intend to move to Italy some time next year, and i have chosen tuscany as my permanent residence. So many beautiful places to choose from it makes it a difficult choice. By the way which app, etc are you using for showing in the map your locations i like it cause it shows in the map everything in detail. Thanks a lot 😊

I was in this area in April and last July. We loved the Cinque Terra. This place is very interesting. We will be visiting again this year and looking at properties.

@@wanderingwithwine I'm planning to sell my house soon and take a long break in Europe (used to live in Germany for 4 years), maybe retirement in Italy in a few years (trying to convince my partner to get her Italian citizenship through her grandfather) your videos are spurring me on. That sounds like an amazing plan!! We are working on our dual citizenship, also by descent… it’s a long process but you obtain a European passport as well, which is a bonus. Do you know which area you’d like to retire to in Italy? There are so many fabulous regions. Our families are from Abruzzo and Campania, but we like cooler temps and the mountains so it’s a tough call. We are definitely learning a lot 😊

word of caution for Tuscany properties. Stumbled on this by accident working with a realtor who let it slip. water is a problem. It is near impossible to get through the bureaucracy and wells dry up regularly. City water can be an issue obtaining if the house isn't plumbed already through the city water supply. Many properties in Tuscany are on well water. Best to do your homework. minimum double the price of the house to get a reliable water supply in Tuscany if the property runs out of water and it happens more often than you might think. Along with the additional cost you will wait up to several years to get through the bureaucracy. That's why a 6 bed/5 bath house sells at such an unbelievably low cost. And Italian law does not require the seller disclose if the water is a problem. Buyer beware. If it sounds too good to be true etc. I'm guessing there is something ugly hiding in the shadows on this property.

Not trying to discourage anyone from following their dreams but moving to a foreign country often carries a romantic image in people's minds that can be quickly erased by the reality of conducting a major business transaction under foreign rules. Europe's laws and culture is very different than America, Canada, Australia etc. You may have covered that in some of your videos but for me I think it should be a disclaimer. Thanks for listening. Absolutely!! It all sounds and looks amazing but that’s why we are doing so much research. We aren’t going to make any hasty decisions. There is so much information we are gathering, and amazing homes we are finding, that we thought we’d share on UA-cam where maybe we can help someone, and in turn, we’ve been getting a lot of insights from others - it’s so great!! Sometimes we will Google Map an area to “walk around” and if there is something worth showing we will put it in the video.
