Your model doesn't have red. Your model has green, blue, white and infrared. Others with a slightly different push button have red, blue, white and infrared. Your light is working properly.

As said below, it may be the IR LED for use with Night vision (PVS-14's ect). You can test it with your camera or cell phone camera as they can pick up IR light. For those interested you can find them used & like new on ebay for 20 - 30 bucks shipped, Buy a couple & still have less than Retail price invested.

It's not red lens. It is infared/IR to use with night vision gear. It is a military tactical flash light.

Absolutely amazing flashlight. I have been electrician for years, been through many flashlights, had the sidewinder for years, never faulted. Hardly change batteries. It was expensive but divide the cost over the years and its bargain

Just heads up, I believe that if you have white, blue, green, the last one should be infrared. You probably have the aviation model. The military model will have, white, blue, red, infrared. I don't think yours is broken. You should probably double check.

An important note, when changing batteries in the dark the positive marks are raised on the outside to ensure proper battery direction just by feel.

I believe you have the aviators flashlight there’s no need for a Red light while flying a plane or jet. The red Color is for map reading on ground level or sea level and also great for night time the light doesn’t travel as much to the human eye and the blue is mostly used for blood search and also Easy using at nite the middle one is for infrared, mostly used when a person is in distress or Tactical action is trying to communicate with someone else without distraction of any light its works well with nite vision equipment if you place your camera phone on the infrared light when its on in total darkness you’ll see what I’m talking about but with nite vision you’ll be amazed it’s a great flashlight thanks for sharing

I have that same bigger Streamlight flashlight but I use the rechargeable 18650 batteries, you can pick one or two up on Amazon for $10 or so and they work great and save a lot of money.

The price of CR123s is not that bad if you know where to look, e.g., Battery Junction ($1 apiece). That said, I only buy them for situations where I need very long shelf life or an emergency backup battery. I otherwise use RCR123s (rechargeable), and, for me at least, they eliminate any concerns about "hard to find" or "pricey."
All that said, other than the lower current capability of AAs, and therefore the lower possible max lumens, I have nothing against AAs, especially if (1) the light in which they're used provides extra functionality (as does the Streamlight reviewed). and (2) you can find rechargeable versions (easily done at Costco or online).

I have the military version (white, red, blue, IR) and my blue stopped working. If I set it to blue and turn it on, then nothing works unless I remove the battery and reinstall it. Then it works again but still no blue. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

All of my lithium batteries last significantly longer than the alkaline ones but some lithium batteries and lights are better than others. They do make rechargeable cr123a batteries though. They are called rcr123a cells. Get quality rechargeable ones that are high capacity and a good charger. It won't be cheap at first but will save you a lot of money later on. That way you can use your other light to and not have to keep buying new batteries. Hope this helps.

Not sure what kind of use that you put your flashlights through but a good one should last literally years - like 10-15 or longer.
