Great video Terry! Fantastic history lesson as well! It was really cool to see the buildings and locations! Also love your new NYC tank car! I love that NYC color!! ❤😎
Thanks so much for the mention in your video Terry! Sorry that you had to go through that rain storm. I really enjoyed the video and the look at two former NYC stations. 😊❤
@@johnlazar7582 thanks John. Seeing inside that station - through the windows - was a real treat. Not made in a style of CN or CP stations. It was awesome to see it!

@@davidwhite1864 exactly. The location of all these towns was wherever the railways ran lines and spurs. Unlike in the UK many of these places were empty (well empty of European industry - the first peoples well used the lands) and farming and industry followed the railways. That’s why governments, including in the UK through the colonial office, encouraged and supported it. I know in the UK some places were created by the railway and some backwater places became large centres.

Very nice! There are a few black-and-white photos of NYC motive power operating in Ottawa; a 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler, an FM diesel (an H-12-44 I think) and an RS-3, which was the last engine to pull the last train into Ottawa. As well, some of the original route still exists though it is badly overgrown. But, you can still see the right-of-way and culverts that go underneath it, especially along Russell Road. The ROW is sliced through by Russell Road and continues until a highway roundabout. Using Google maps as well as investigating in person will yield this information to you. Nice little video and hope to see more of your layout along with other visiting American railroads like the Wabash and Chesapeake & Ohio (these served Southern Ontario). As well, the Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo was co-owned by both the NYC and Canadian Pacific, making it another foray into Canada (and the TH&B did own two ex-nyc Hudsons, one of which…er, HALF of it, still exists.)
@@alexanderpoirier3350 thanks so much for this great information! I really appreciate it, especially as I moved to the region a little less than a year ago and love learning the history.
