@ajb5265 First off, I appreciate you finding the channel and hope you stay. Welcome. The regular season is split into two sections, each made up of 22 games, so all teams play at minimum 44 matches. Then each half has a playoff consisting of three rounds as well to determine the champion, with the top seed automatically qualifying for the "Grand Final". Each round is two-legged, so if you are the top team you are guaranteed a minimum of 4 matches. Make BOTH and it's 8. If you win your semi-final, but lose the final, you have two more matches because now you have that Grand Final to play. We were the top seed in both stages, but failed to win our first final, so we played 10 playoff matches in total. We also had the Supercopa (one match, blissfully) and the Cup. Luckily, you enter that in the quarterfinals, so if you make the Final, that's three more. Then...there's the Continental Competitions. First comes the Central American Cup which feeds the big CONCACAF tournament. There is a group stage of 4 matches. Come top 2 in your group of 5 and you make the quarterfinals. We failed to win the QF tie, so we played two more matches to win a berth into the Champions Cup. So...eight more matches played. Finally, the Champions Cup itself. Each round is two legs. We made it through to the Quarterfinals this year. 6 more matches in total. 44 + 10 + 4 + 8 + 6 = 72 Thankfully, we can register up to 35 players 🤣
