I finished my practice yesterday feeling pretty good about my progress. Then I got on line and listened to some Peter Bernstein and saw a link to this song. I had never heard Jonathan before. Wow. I need to practice more. So many wonderful, melodic ideas in one piece. At least it's clear he practices a lot from the shots of the back of his guitar neck - the finish is worn off across most of it.
Superb solos from both Jonathan and Will - hugely inspirational. I rate JK as being one of the amongst the most innovative performers of improvised music around, and jazz as a genre is greatly enriched by his wonderful, lyrical playing.
hola emilio, estas transcirbiendo esta piezza en su totalidad, te podria pedir un favor de pasarme la melodia y los acordes por favor, este es mi correo ayosjazz@gmail.com, a cambio te puedo pasar the south of everywhere.
Amazing ! I saw them live in my home-town in Lyon, France and it was one of the best moments i had in my life. I advise anyone to go and see JK and his mates !!!
Nice composition and playing Jonathan! I just bought your "The South of Everywhere" album and will definitely by this twenty-one! Cheers, Charlie Ukiah, CA
noah becker In the 7 section of Will's solo it sounds like they pedal on G- and Bb- and only start playing the full harmony again when Jonathon switches back to the 21 vamp.
@knighterrantfilms Hi,again,I forgot to invite you to see "Once I loved (amor em paz) adriano souza jarbas goulart thiago ferte " from the same night.Of course our production is very simple.best regards and thank you very much
There are slight likenesses in tone between him and metheny but you can't say they sound similar! The note choices and phrasing choices are completely different! Open your ears
@NineTeenAyeDeeDee You gotta love it, he says Kreisberg is mechanical and soulless and "Metheny-esque" and basically insults Jon's playing, but if you go to NineTeenAveDeeDee's page, his music is the most mechanical, soulless garbage I have ever heard. He disses himself enough with those videos, but thought I would at least retort a bit since the comment was so baseless and hypocritical
Although I don't understand why you don't like his group, there's a video playing with Ari Hoenig which is also amazing. In case you haven't come across it.
Will Vinson only shows everybody that he has full freedom in 21/8. Jonathan nails it too with his own unique style, but Will plays it like he doesn't even care. And that's something!
I can't get enough of this song. I've probably listened to it 100 times since I found it.
Me too .. Me three!
I agree me too it s addictif amazing groove
Same here :)
Every time Will Vinson hits that crescendo near the end of his solo, an angel gets their wings.
my favourite modern alto player right here. So good. I really hope to see Will perform in the future. Beautiful EVERYTHING
Absolutely incredible!
Wow.. One of the most impressing thing i heard in years! Will Vinson is the man. Great stuff guys
I WANT THAT CORDS IN MY TUNES!!!!!!!!!!!!THANKS JONATHAN FOR BEING SUCH A INSPIRATION FOR US.
I love how much Johnathan is into the music. It's really awesome to see such a talented group enjoy what they do.

2:48 to 2:58
ten ASTONISHING seconds (so much with just three notes...)
@funkman082 I know it's 12 notes, I meant groups of three notes.
Great tone, anybody know what is setup is? Is that a stock ES 175?
nossssaaaa❤
@jamietatro55 Its actually 21/8 thats where the name of the song comes from.
jonathan kreisberg for president
3:00 is just beautiful!! Not that the rest isn't, it's just particularly standout :)
Nice !
Nice MESA/Boogie tone!
@piotrnysapl totally agree with you! I think it's even better than the sound of the record!
@Fsdrak Hi, jonatahn plays roundwouds strings.
Unbelievable
Le Jazzbaltica offre vraiment aux musiciens la possibilité de s'éclater...Ce qui donne une grande qualité de musique.
Great, when are you coming to Stockholm, next time!!
Que boooooo, que ets, Joan, Catalonia free,💕💕❤️
@mistermanugo How do you get Jonathan play in your home??
Vinson 6:09: DAMN
What time signature is this?
Hah! jonathan loves it when Vinson plays the lick
very nice!!!
21 = 5,5,5,6 (23) (23) (23) (33) ?
It was "cooking" in the Kitchen, the JAM got hott!!
Exactly the same.. Can't cook with this.. Burns.
3:16 bum fump bah fum FEEEEE!
@knighterrantfilms Hi,again,I forgot to invite you to see "Once I loved (amor em paz) adriano souza jarbas goulart thiago ferte " from the same night.Of course our production is very simple.best regards and thank you very much
@Mighselph i understand what your trying to say but its not three notes. pretty sure its all 12
2:22 dude.....
12 123 12 123 12 123 123 123
When they start to play on 7/4 it sounds so easy.. like huh.. okay that's just seven. :D
WoW Mr JK !!
Its 21 that is why he titled it 21. I was just at a master Class with him.
@NineTeenAyeDeeDee
2.59-3.05=this is in your opinion mechanical jazz? Tell me who in your opinion play "good" jazz music.
2:59 stackin em up!
Jonathan's amps here. a Polytone - well, no suprise. a Mesa Mark I - WTF? :D
Anyone can tell me the tempo they're playin' in please?!
It's 21/8 (hence the title), grouped as 5+5+5+3+3, with each 5 grouped as 2+3, so to count it, it's
1 2 1 2 3 / 1 2 1 2 3 / 1 2 1 2 3 / 1 2 3 / 1 2 3 / Have fun!
There are slight likenesses in tone between him and metheny but you can't say they sound similar! The note choices and phrasing choices are completely different! Open your ears
Yeah Andy! and eighth notes are in large part the tradition of jazz, please forgive him lol
@Fsdrak Hi plays Ernie Ball Strings 12 15 20 30 40 52 He has to buy 2 different sets
fucking wow and holy maccarel
@Fsdrak Roundwounds.
He plays a vintage Gibson. He's not pimping for some guitar company.
@LedZeppelinisgod100 Somebody must have missed "Thumb up" button
Those facial expressions are hilarious!
All these masters.. They just don't care.
@enricocrosato - Sounds like 12/8.
@irockyouroll Ja ja ja ja ja!
why is everyone so sweaty
@NineTeenAyeDeeDee

5 cats are deaf.
i'd like to see him with other fellas, I don't like the group that much.
Although I don't understand why you don't like his group, there's a video playing with Ari Hoenig which is also amazing. In case you haven't come across it.
i'm surprised you don't like this group. I thought Will Vinson totally killed it
raas96 to me they lack intensity, creativity and dynamics. To me they sound "dead". Jonathan is killing though.
StromboliKicks
Will Vinson lacks intensity, creativity and dynamics? LOL
Someone has wooden ears, and it's not Will Vinson.
Will Vinson only shows everybody that he has full freedom in 21/8. Jonathan nails it too with his own unique style, but Will plays it like he doesn't even care. And that's something!
