Text my friends in a basketball chat we’ve had together since college and said the exact same thing…The T2 lead in was incredible and then THE song of the NBA during my childhood the 90’s…epic
It took me many years to realize that I wasn’t that much into Basketball after the mid 2000s. It’s because the NBA on NBC was gone but I’m so happy it’s coming back!
The production quality that NBC put into the NBA cannot be overstated. It made Basketball into Theater, it was like Art. You were mesmerized by the sights and sounds. The build-up, anticipation, subplots, and majesty of it all was unlike anything that came before, and everything that came after.
@@markmiller3308 As someone who grew up as a teenager in the 90’s watching the Bulls, and someone who loves Hockey just as much, I wholeheartedly agree. It’s neck and neck. The production is impeccable.
The best NBA finals intro EVER. This music from the best movie ever made, suits just perfect one of the greatest NBA finals ever, that includes 95-96 Bulls, the greatest basketball team in the history of Mankind
What about The dream team? Or the 2017 Warriors? (As a rockets fan I don’t like that warriors team because it wasn’t a organic team but it is still super stacked)
@@nicholassmith277 the 1992 Dream Team is a national team. I meant in terms of clubs, basketball clubs, 95-96 Bulls are simply supreme. 2017 Warriors, what about them? They got 73-9. That's it. No matter how lucky and unrealistic that was (considering how many games they luckily won by 1-2 points, while Bulls lost at least 3-4 of their 10 games by just 1 point), they got it and it's fine. They have the record. But they don't have anything more than that. They didn't even win the ring, and that's the only measure. 95-96 Bulls won the title with just 2 Playoff defeats, and won 2 more titles in the next 2 seasons. Would 99% won in 1999 too, had MJ not retired so they fell apart. And would win in 1995 too, had MJ played full season. I mean, there's really no competition here.... Kobe's and Shaq's Lakers, some Celtics' squads from 60s or 80s, Lakers from 80s, that's what Warriors can be compared with, to see who's better. But, with 1995-96 Bulls, there's no comparison, really.
@dhsilv2 Bill Walton should stick to fucking UCLA games god he’s so god damn terrible, “hey Jeff did you see what Serena Williams did over the weekend man I tell ya she’s the best ever man she’s so good” even Van Gundys like “yeah cool she is good you realize there’s a playoff game going on in front of ya that’s why we’re here man come on”
Love the intros they did for these games, they got you so pumped. And that theme is one of the most iconic sports themes in history, right along with the original Monday Night Football theme.
You do know that NBC will bid on April 22 after the 45 day NBA TV deal negotiations after ABC/ESPN and TNT try to renew their NBA rights, NBC will bid to get it too. NBA on NBC is on its way back next year 2025.
NBC should be doing anything possible to bring back the NBA. Gosh, could you imagine this theme song, dare I say, improved in some way, but only add more base to it. It’s the most energy grab theme song I have ever heard. This would be such a game changer in this COVID-19 era.
They're about to. NBA TV deal expires this year. Bids from channels start in April. NBC wants the rights back. They'll bid for it with Comcast. Owners of NBC & NBC Sports/Universal. NBA wants NBC back too
movie quality drama, storylines being told, pictures being painted, an overveiw of whats been going on with each team whole season ups and downs while also highlighting the former winners etc etc this was epic peak performance arts meets basketball.. now its just basketball and shooting 3's.. random guys nobody heard of going for 50 with no follow up or storyline to build his character.. nba on nbc will be back after next season.. please bring back the theme song
I don’t want to split hairs, but CBS had the NBA TV rights throughout the 80s & their last season of broadcast rights was the ‘89’90 season. NBC’s first NBA season then started the following year, 1990-91. Love your ring tone comment! 👍
Nobody will ever know good times again like this was back when the Dynasty played. No Twitter, no Facebook, few cellphones. Clinton, cheap gas, great economy.
My favorite NBA Finals I was a big Seattle Supersonics fan although they came up short in NBA Finals they made it all the way to the Finals in 1996 with a record of 64-18 very good in its own right. I remember the series when Bulls went 1-0,I was ok with that,2-0 still ok with that,3-0 now I'm a bit nervous I didn't want to see Sonics get swept so glad that they won a couple of games before the series ended.
The ending of the first part 0:05 sounds like the WCW Monday Nitro ending and then it goes into the Terminator II music. Finally into the NBA on NBC music
INTENSE! I Always Remember Costas Saying the Sonics are Facing the Bulls Who Some Argue Are The Best Of ALL TIME! I always thought, Poor Gary Peyton! What do you have to Do? I think Costas does Mission Impossible In the Next Game.
I don't have any type of respect for Houston Rockets they never defeated Chicago Bulls, the get the opportunity to get two championships in Michael Jordan's absence.
As a Seattle sports guy through and through I grew up loving the Sonics. But it sure would have been nice if they hadn’t had the worst timing on earth. 94 and 95 when there was no MJ in the way and the title is there on a platter they have championship caliber teams but can’t stop blowing it in the first round. And then they finally get the monkey off their back just in time to run into the most impossible to beat team of all time in the finals 😣.
Whoever saved these intros is the real mvp
