I use the glue just to hold the end in position so I can then serve or use nail knots. Hadn't thought of it as actually holding the spectra, doesn't seem like a good idea. From 12lb to 50lb leader, I glue 1/4 inch at the end, and then run 3, 6 turn nail knots, roughly 1/2-3/4 inch apart. I've started, as crazy as it sounds, making 12lb leader wind ons, thanks to the TT coming in such low tests. I do some inshore fishing, and it saves me $$$ to not cut and discard leader material if the fish become leader shy. 12lb mono (TWELVE) fits into the 30 and even 40lb TT hollow perfectly. Im telling you it's actually fun to mess around with the really light hollow core, people need to try it.
