  • Volvo Penta SX Stern drive. BTW, If you watch close I had the lines on the LEFT side reversed (top to bottom-bottom to top) and had to redo them before it would work. I'm definitely not a Journeyman mechanic!!

You could always try using one of these: www.computercablestore.com/12-f-type-connector-installation-and-removal-tool?gclid=Cj0KCQjwoub3BRC6ARIsABGhnybmgkKmSHw_-7qcSY9eDpvpG8PVSiz8bKw605OoZoHc2SplK6FcFEsaAu3MEALw_wcB
Coax ends are also 7/16", so this might be how you get in there without removing the stern drive.

So the correct way of the lines is top to bottom on cylinder?

Great. I have to replace port upper here and was watching you.I replaced the port lower a few years ago. Like the homemade wrench. I just use some stubby
open ends i have, but yours works great too! Thanx. 2000 175 Glastron SX Open Bow...that keeps on runnin.

Thank you for this- and no offesnse but I think this is a lot less involved than removing the drive (but my drive is in salt and 10 yrs old, nothings easy with it). I see the comment you left about reversing the left (port?) lines. I've also seen the schematic but, can you confirm on the left lines- upper manifold to lower cylinder? Which is opposite of how the right (starboard) lines connect, if so but also what the schematic shows. Im not one to doubt the schematic but I also was too dumb to take a pic in advance and have seen confusion online. Anyway, I hope you see this- great work around!!!

Geat patients..but that's a tight fit with the wrench. I was inventing like a open head spanner that I cut a line opening to go over line and slip over nut to unscrew but the 1/8 turns was a piss...springs was missing by my mechanic on both and was told its there.leak under pressure. I'll try grinding a spanner head as you did...to replace

Hello, im curious if you replaced all four hoses and do you still have the part numbers for the hoses?

I did replace all 4 but I had them made locally so I'm not sure what the part numbers are.

Would of it been easier to take the bottom line out to screw in the top line and then put in the bottom line?? I have to replace my lines so just wondering ??

definitely the hard way and definitely saw that leak drip at the end but nice effort sticking with it and staying calm

Didn't see a drop but it's common for excessive drain to drip at first

I wonder why they use it for power steering pumps 🤔

Dexron II/III ATF is manual recommended. Don't mis Tilt Trim fluid with ATF Dexron II/III. Have always used Dexron in 2000 VolvoPenta SX.

It's so much easier to just remove the drive. It takes less time than grinding the wrench IMHO

@@rodbasden8298 yes, there only about 60 lbs. Remove the prop first. To reinstall, make sure to grease the rubber boot. It's an interference fit
