Catching to the casual baseball fan is such an underrated job. These guys do so much more than just catch a pitch and throw batters out. The play and feel these guys have and the in-depth thought they put into the game while calling and catching 90mph+ fast balls or wicked breaking balls. It is no wonder a lot of catchers go on to be managers. Good video, although it would have been good to see the camera positioned elsewhere on the body, say helmet etc. But as they talk about, this could create a "target" or put-off pitchers. I liked the mini-docu type look into the catchers warm-up though.
You really can’t see anything at all in most parts. By the way I get why not seeing the ball is the point, however you can’t catch a baseball when you can’t see the ball. Baseball players out there know this. They should have mounted it way better put it is still a interesting video.
I too was a catcher in high school. The mound is 60 feet away. This camera makes it look like 200 and you can't even see the ball. It's not nearly so difficult as this video suggests.
What brilliant individual mounted this camera on his chest protector blocking all views of what is happing during the catch. What a complete waste of bandwidth.
Y'all are me favorite team I got so luck today my favorite position is catcher I have played for 5 years now and 1 year all stars this is my lucky day thank y'all
Nice to see how its done in the majors. You don't see much unfortunately with the camera and it makes the mound look a mile away but it does at least show the sort of training you go through. One observation is that its more than a professional environment its like a corporate discipline in that the personalities seem less teammate orientated and more focused on impressing and gaining advantage - just my observation though.
All you see is the glove. Nothing else. But nice reaction time. Isn’t that hard to keep. Up with. If I were in the majors I wouldn’t want to be a catcher because it would make your hand hurt a lot.
So basically 5:30 of stupid talking and then like 3 pitches which can't even be seen until after they reach the glove because it's out if frame. Good job
"Let's put this camera right behind the glove so you can't see shit." Sounds good! Thanks, guys.
Cody S. That’s what I was thinking right at the start wtf
That’s what the catcher sees as well
@@jeanblack3070 - Hardly
Should be on the helmet or face mask
This catcher is now a coach for the Dodgers. Good hire for them. Definitely seems likes a good coach
Go Dodgers
camera needs to be mounted on top of the face mask or something.
jeffery griffis on top of the mask is worse than on the chest
The whole point is because they can’t see anything
jeffery griffis yea u can’t even see the ball
Exactly
To mount on the helmet they would need to get a custom GoPro mount and it would violate the terms of the MLB for helmet regulations
The back of a glove is what the catcher sees apparently.
I catch. Back of the glove
+Elan Romero why is your glove in your face?
+Casual Cat 22 It's a chest mount
+Elan Romero I catch too, and I see the same. I try to put the top of the glove with the bar right below my eye most of the time.
+Jarwes1414 exactly what I do
The video should be renamed as follows: What a major league catcher would see if his eyes were in his fucking chest.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yup. Watching a baseball come at someone from a major league pitcher is great... as long as I can see the ball.
Omfl lmfao lol
HeavyProfessor ys
HeavyProfessor she also has metal bars in front of his face
When I lived in AZ, this was one of my fields I played on. This brings back memories. :)
Its pretty cool! Haven't been in a catchers position in years! Feels nice just watching this video.

Guys this isn't a useless video. We got to see the chillness of an mlb pitcher/catcher practice in real life.
Awesome video! Really puts you in perspective of a MLB Catcher when a pitcher throws at him!
I played catcher. God I loved it. God I love baseball.
Pretty much useless vid. Catcher has a nice mit, though.
It’s a training mit. The Texas Catchers use a smaller mit in a drill at Spring Training.
2:14 Turned ooOOOOFFF
1:18 that’s what she said
Guys quit saying this vid is crap because it's not you can see the pitch just fine and if you can't your blind
Let's go cardinals
That's a really interesting mitt you got there
EVERY MLB TEAMS NEED CATCHER CAMERA
The thumbnail looks like Ty from Dude Perfect
Kinda
What is a thumbnail
+Kailub Parra picture you see b4 clicking video
Fuk you
No way wtf
2:13 voice crack 😂
I love his glove
I need more of these
for some reason i love the sound of the ball getting caught by a catchers mitt.
It’s normal
Video should be called 'see what a major league catchers glove looks like'
Sickkkk glove dude love that that’s the whole vid😂😂
“Take two. Now we will mount the Go Pro on the ump.”
You guys practicing bat flipping this year?
You guys practicing boxing at all?
I love baseball and this was cool to watch

Genius idea!
Color me shocked, but for the longest time I though catchers saw 90 mph pitches, but it’s just the back of a glove?! Wow great content.
Texas rangers for life

Texas Rangers is my favorite baseball team
Catchers have the ability to look past a object and catch +90 mph fastballs? Amazing!
Time title should be what a pitch sounds like hitting a mit.
MLB should have this for games like built in to the mask or equipment
Id have plate umps wear it
I like that all star gear I’m a catcher for middle school
What brilliant individual mounted this camera on his chest protector blocking all views of what is happing during the catch. What a complete waste of bandwidth.
Wow being a catcher is harder than I thought after watching this video because I didnt know you had to look halfway to the ground while catching
Y'all are me favorite team I got so luck today my favorite position is catcher I have played for 5 years now and 1 year all stars this is my lucky day thank y'all
Cool

That's crazy!!! They only see the glove?
im a catcher in middle school and i thought 80mph fast balls where hard
How did this video end? I got distracted watching the paint dry on my wall
Stop complaining about the view this what I see and I'm behind the plate constantly
Cool video!
I💖Texas Rangers
I have toms autograph when he played for Seattle
All them catchers which one start
How about trying FOV to the actual head itself? The only thing we're seeing is the back of the mitt!
Pretty good
2:13 that voice crack tho
I love it 😍
damn gimenez wasn't there much longer after this video haha go rangers
I can't see shit other than his arm and his hand
What exactly do I see?
Nothing but a 90+ MPH fast ball
ALG32705 it's realistic most catchers put the glove in front of their eyes
@@haydengodek2134 wrong
I only see the mitt....hahahaha
Dats amazing
Should have watched the video after a few. Then adjusted video so we could see the pitchers movement. To see what the batter sees.
I love catcher I play it
I am a catcher and once the ball passes the halfway point there is nothing more to see. Your body takes over and moves easily to the ball
O I thought a catcher would see different but nope he still sees the world
All you see is the glove. Nothing else. But nice reaction time. Isn’t that hard to keep. Up with. If I were in the majors I wouldn’t want to be a catcher because it would make your hand hurt a lot.
I didn’t know catchers looked directly at the dirt when they caught
Should've just put the go pro on top of the helmet instead of on like your chest. You can't see anything
put the camera behind the glove and look into the sun. hey, great job.
the pitch sounds like a gun shot a sniper shot
What team is this in my little lueage team we got second in champion cheap
BS you
That pitcher was cut 3 days ago from the Diamondbacks, poor dude.
0:00 youtuber apology vids starting like
Nice mitt bro xD
what the back of a catchers mitt looks like
I’m a freshman this year and I thought throwing 80 was hard looking at the guy on the right looks like he’s throwing 120 compared to me
CHRIS OMG SUP ITS ME SAM FROM SCORPIONS! :D IM TED'S SON!
Spring training Texas rangers suprise Arizona. I’ve gone
I'm a catcher at my middle school and I though our pitcher throw fast witch is 60 to 65 and looking at this I'm like never mind
The thumbnail looks like Ian from smosh
I’m a catcher right now I’m in a book for best players in America
I basically see what they see but I’m in little League and I’m a catcher
I'm a catcher can u give the so cal halos a shout out to the team
that's cool
What's the song around 40 seconds?
Angel by shaggy
I was a catcher too

Oh for mlb😴😝😂 nope
Jerold I was for a little bit but I stopped playing
Same
Are you a filipino Jerold?
We can’t even see the ball how fast it’s coming bc of his glove
PROBABLY SHOULD'VE CHECKED THE CAMERA ANGLE
Baseball players see things a little differently
And now hes a dodgers coach 🥶🥵
Chest cam?
So basically 5:30 of stupid talking and then like 3 pitches which can't even be seen until after they reach the glove because it's out if frame. Good job
I miss tom on the m's😭 I got his signature and met him
He looks like Ian from smosh on the thumbnail
who is your favorite baseball team?
it was on his chest he looks above it to see the ball
I catch and my vision is a small rectangle
I'm a major league shortstop they work their asses off just like everyone else give him a fucking break
At 0:35 Is that Brett Nicholas
Is this the Rangers
