I used a lot of guide coat to help me find the highs and lows when sanding off the filler. I don't care for side curtains and made a set of plexiglass windows. Good tip on the drilling and pinning the doors. We use the same method for optically aligned components on spacecraft.

That's a great idea to use guide coat! I do want plexiglass window and thanks for letting me know I am using "spacecraft" technology. lol

I love Evercoat Rage. It is expensive but it's worth it. Long working time, very smooth application and easy sanding.
