I looooove that she still has her overall personality from MK11, but isn't a villain. That's exactly what I was hoping for. I did hope she'd get a flashier design,but overall I'm so happy with the choices they made. And her face model is stunning!
Also, I like that Sindel and Kitana have similar hairstyles. That's not uncommon for a lot of mothers and daughters with close relationships. Could be a visual detail intended to show how Kitana looks up to Sindel. Alternatively, Mileena's hairstyle echoes LI Mei, making me wonder if she was closer to her as a mentor than she was to Sindel as a mother.
It's a cool way to reflect the OG timeline (Midway) where Mileena was just a clone of Kitana and Sindel didn't actually have her as a daughter.
i mean sindel made mileena her heir rather than kitana so id like to think she cares about mileena as much as kitana
Mileena is only the heir because she was born seconds before Kitana.
I like Mileena's new direction in that she's infected with Tarkat. That makes her more of a tragic character as Kitana's legitimate older twin rather than an outright villainess and clone.
I don’t think her design could get any more flashy without it being too much. Purple outfit and grey hair is her staple besides maybe grey and or glowing eyes

The MK11 Shao and Sindel Voices has Coming Back which is a Huge Plus, Raiden looks Faster and Agile with impressive Electrokenesis and Great Fatal Blow as a Homage to his MKX X-Ray, Shao looks menacing with tons of inspiration to Steppenwolf, have his Classic Red and Silver Colors and I’m wondering if he’s Onaga’s Son?, and Sindel looks like her Annihilation and All of her Deception and MK9 Skins mixed into One with her Fatal Brow being a more Brutal Version of her MK9 X-Ray and Her New Fatality being more Harsher than the Ones from Her MK11 Fatalities, plus I’m wondering if she’s Good or Evil, also Kameo Motaro and Shujinko Looks Sick and Badass with Motaro having Bionic Design that could be one of Shang Tsung’s Experiments, All in All Great Trailer of waiting in this Torture from Gamescon.

I also pay attention to the voices :) I have a voice acting background and have to say that Matthew Porretta's performance in the first Alan Wake (the sequel was presented at the show) was such an inspiration for me more than a decade ago. The vocal training was really tough, sometimes without noticable results for months but actors like him (also James Maccaffrey) are a great impulse to not give up. You almost saw me as Leon in those new RE games :)

It was a nightmare to face him, teleport, lazer shots, his grappler, kick with back feet, and worst thing was projectile immunity.
not sure who noticed but Shunjiko's moves change based on who your fighting. used Shao's axe and did Sindel's flip copying her hair handstand in the flip
I thought it was odd. I've never seen this character before is he like shang sung but he steals moves instead of souls???
@@Thwal Shujinko's whole gimmick was that he absorbed all the fighters abilities (so kinda like Shang Tsung, but without the sorcery) so his assist moves are a callback to this.

@@Thwal He was the protagonist of MKD, and in the konquest mode, he travelled through realms, learning how to fight from other kharacters.
@@Thwal He got a blessing from Onaga that let him learn the skills/powers of anyone. He travelled the worlds and learned how to fight as every powerful fighter ever. Basically the dude's the GOAT and can do whatever he wants.

Really happy to see Shujinko back even just as a kameo. Deception is my favourite MK and this old man monk who's absorbed decades of skills and abilities has a lot of potential.

OMG! I LOVE Sindel's overall looks! She looks younger compared to previous MK games, and she'd better be back to her original good self! I think that the Li Mei with her back turned after showing Mileena is Shang Tsung in disguise and killed Jarrod as Li Mei, hence the look on Mileena's face before we see Li Mei's back. I think she picked up on something fishy. Here's a long shot: with Raiden now being Earth Realm's champion, is he going to be the one to have a thing with Kitana now?

So, Mortal Kombat is a “friendlier” tournament and it looks like Raiden will fight General Shao fairly early? I wonder who Shao’s “illustrious father” is. Onaga? Shinnok? Characters could be really really different this time around.
Yes i think it starts as a friendly tournament... But then general shao takes over and becomes shao Khan...wants to take over the realms then...maybe for Onaga

Sindel doesn't come off as evil during the cinematics, but then she comes in with that maniacal laugh during the fight intro. She's turning evil or getting corruped mid campaign mode

I think Shao's father is Onaga because Sindel brought it up and it would make sense why Shao has horns now.
When you go back to Raiden's reveal, you will notice that he acquires his lightning powers by channeling them from his amulet/talisman. The very same talisman that was introduced in MK9. This could possibly indicate that he has no innate powers of his own, as he lost them as shown in MK 11 pre Aftermath. But he could still use the talisman because it could be connected to earthrealm's life force. Just as Shinnok "died" but his amulet remained, so could be the case for Raiden.

Loving Shao's design and gamplay. I was most nervous about how he would come across in the new timeline, and NR delievered in a major way. Sindel also looks peak.

@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 MK 11 he was given dragon scales and qualities. I'm expecting MK1 to dive a bit deeper as to why. MK are known for shaking things up with their characters from game to game. Sub being Bi-han, getting killed by Scorpion, then his brother Kui Liang becoming the new Sub Zero in his place. Scorpion going from a hell specter to a human. Mileena from Kitana's clone to her twin sister. So a lot is still in the air to discover through the story mode, character endings, etc.
Sindel looks like her design is really similar to li mei especially when we saw her at the throne she looked like her it’s like they made them the same design but changed the colors and armor of one another

This time, it's now believable that she is indeed Kitana's mom. They look related now.
Another amazing trailer, all the chars in it were amazing! And regarding Motaro, not only he's a counter-zoning Kameo but also a Zoning Kameo in itself, he both allows for Zoning from you while hurts the opponent's Zoning, amazing stuff!
It was nice seeing Sindel, Shao Kahn, Shunjiko and Motoro but wanted to see Onaga & Reiko & Nitara but nevertheless so happy how great this game is becoming

I think Motaro's shield is a reference to how all projectile attacks would either bounce off of him back at the player (hated that lol) or phase right through the centaur warrior back in Mortal Kombat 3. Cool to see it reimagined. And Shujinko in action and being back is just pure awesome. Puts such a big smile on my face to finally, FINALLY see many of the 3D-era characters return.
I'm so Happy for Shujinko. My boy is back! Hope for Taven to return.
Asian Sindel is so cool to see. I know it may not mean much to most but it's the little things that count. It just makes sense that she looks like she is of asian descent just like her daughters.

Best trailer by far, Love the horns on Shao and Sindel's hair during KB. Also, I like the stage that looks like where all the gold was in that Hobbit movie and the other stage that looks like the Avenger's end game scene where captain America picked up Thor's hammer while fighting Thanos. Also did you notice how Shao's Axe fell to the background right before Sindel did her Fatality or how the flowers were moving around the stage when Raiden was fighting?

This is gonna sound crazy but I think Shao might be possessed by onaga like how reptile was in the 3d Era, my only clues are 1:Shao was said to be more peaceful and now all of a sudden he's aggressive and 2:the horns give me HUGE onaga vibes, look at a render of onaga next to this Shao design and tell me those horns aren't eerily similar. Im not the only one who sees it right?
Upon further inspection of onagas render and Shao in the trailer the horns remind me more of shinnok than anything

I'm really happy that Sindel isn't losing her more sinister side. I've always loved that side of her. Shao Kahn's new look is amazing (giving major Onaga vibes), and I'm super happy that Motaro is getting some recognition. I genuinely never thought we'd see him ever again. Also, it's super amazing to finally see Shujinko again!

Around the 45 second mark, Sindel mentions something about “General Shao’s illustrious father” etc. Who’s his dad?! The horns make me wonder if he’s Onaga’s halfbreed son. I also heard he was like Raiden in the last timeline when he was immortal and earth’s protector except the Outworld version, but he went rogue.
