I see the game but there is 1,500 ways to skin a cat... Supercharger. Flatter curve. Easier install. Easier to cool. More reliable. More tunable (within reason). Just expensive. I have a Marauder so I’m keeping it. Only doing the best work to mine. You want power down low anyway.

    • @bstfordchannel923

      True, but the cost for power down low ( with low funds ) Turbo would be for me ( ideal ) is the supercharger but it aint cheap...Procharger would be my 2nd choice ( procharger ) aint cheap either its tough call

People always add a ( wish or a dream ) instead what is real..,.2005 Crown does it have a Antenna on the car? I think thats the only year I think that has that.... Sometime Shazam doing a project like you are doing is a headache CAUSE OF THE UNKNOWN and people dont assist you ( as they should ) they either make you dislike them ( like f u ) or say F doing this project ( in some cases ).. Really glad I can help you in any-kind of way.. I am learning with you guys also..I want to put the money where it counts

      ADTR has a Procharger Kit for 5+k ( no tune ) not the way to go... IF you have that money to spend KENNY BELL would be best ( everything will be in the kit ) and a TUNE .. You can call and get the exact price.. Or you can buy a MUSTANG 4.6 2v kit for less and make it work.. I will do video on that also what kit is a exact fit for a Crown Vic

      @@bstfordchannel923 Hey Bro, yep my recent 05 Crown purchase has the antena on the back end. I want to make blue tire smoke from a stop. Not top end speed. And my budget is $3k to $4k. I gotta think of labor cause working with rock drilling and blasting and some open pit mines, didn't treat me well so I gotta pay for the work, but it's all good. Helping my mechanic at the same time! I'm figureing at most half on labor, so upto $2k plus for parts. I want a Tanny flush an service an medium shift kit. Probley a good torque converter too. As ya say, "Gotta be worth the cost of the bang". So, new 75mm fuel intake flapper an polished. Throttle is a cable wire set up. what about intake manifold and spacers for fuel/air related goods. Pullys, except alternator, right? I like the self cleaning fuel injectors instead of going larger. True? And the last thing would be the TUNE. Any other of your valuable input is appreciated , and lastly did all the push bars bolt up the same, someone salvaged mine. Thank you very much for your input and encouragement. One more thing I love the magic hand doin the talkin and explaining! I think it has an accent too, lol, Unique man, unique!

      @@shazam3218 Thank you for the support man I really am grateful 1st ( no trans flush ) brother just change fluid and IN some SMALL CASES it isnt wise to do so ( I know strange right? ) trans starts to slip lol weird thing.. if you have 4k to spend ( cause i dont lol ) Procharger again I will do a vid for you on what- Procharger and how to get game from other places that sell the kit( to make your own )...
      Going to need those injectors ( oem ones ) or after market but dont skimp on them ( i learned the hard way ) .Also you will be making the cold pipe 45s- 90s -35 bend and such or spend 5k for kit that fits your car ( just install it ) and get a tune.. Need a air/fuel ratio gauge AEM has good stuff ( 2-$300 ) or get used.. Under drive pulleys on this set-up may help but the ( you may not need them ) kinda waste if your talking about taking the procharger route.... You have me thinking about a procharger now lmao... Just before the ribbed bendable part of intake hose, past sensor. I'd like to remove the flexi part/intake hose and twist and rip it out. Then air gun intake hose all clean from the flaked white paint that comes of. An reinstall. What is it and what say ye? Oh a Pro-charger vid would be so cool an helpful cause after paying the help, probley leaves me $2,000 to $2,500, I'm thinkin', on the pro charger(like which one an parts) an doin the install an tune. The best thing I did to my N/A, home brew GM EFI system, was add a Wide Band O2 to monitor AFR's. I am no tuner by any means but that W/B really opened my eyes as to what was going on with my engine and why it would lay down at certain rpm/load. I have a MOATES modified ECM that I can burn chips for and I am slowly creeping up on my tune thanks to the wide band O2.

    Honestly I would get the most mileage of out of your crown Vic and when she says it’s very tired and time for a rebuild, I would rebuilt it with upgrades but still stock then do either the pro charge or the super charger and if possible use the police tune because no one can make a tune unique for pursuit that’s why I love having my p7b but that’s just me while I daily drive mine right now for the next couple of years.

    • @bstfordchannel923
      @bstfordchannel923  5 років тому +2

      Thats they way to approach ( building you car ) it really perfect with no stress. NOW TUNE well you have tuning chops out there that can DIAL YOUR NEEDS to a T...So that cop tune ( is really based on TORQUE CONVERTER slight advance timing and shift points thats really it . Nothing too special at all , its dial to be efficient- with simple combos in ( small upgrades ) that cost ford ZERO to produce.. Daily drive your car until it wears down ( or buy a second motor ) and build it slowly over the years to your liking ..

So its a tough sell to say hey Ford big the big rides.. They just will not UNLESS the tide changes. AS YOU and I ,ay these big rides cool and wanted they MAY wiggle a big ride to test the ..waters Now Dodge has a Full Size v8 and its doing very well, Ford can not compete because it will mess with the flagship Mustang. Stroker 4.6L+ 2v kits have forged internals which obviously beat any stock engine's internals, for anyone with the $$$, might as well invest it the smart way.. I'm modding my 95 Lincoln Town Car, to the max in N/A first, then procharger or supercharger route..

    Turbos work best on inline and V6 applications because of the space issue . Centrifugal superchargers work best on V6 and V8 applications. I personally would never use a roots style superchargers because of the intercooler it's basically a radiator that has coolant running through it if it cracks coolant gets sucked in to the engine and you will damage or destroy your engine. Centrifugal superchargers have intercoolers but it similar to the style that turbo's use and most kits come with a air to air intercoolers not water to air intercoolers so the water issue is never a problem like you could have with a roots style supercharger

      I can agree with you on what you said... The roots one isnt ideal, but its works with min space.. i roll with turbos even though it sucks to route.... I like the prochargers that get my vote ( when I have money ) For now TURBO all the way..

    Adding more boost to a worn stock engine = cheap as possible to hit your 300hp goal. It's a short lived play toy. If you want to keep the car around = rebuild, Scat H rods, rebalance crank, cam set, springs, ARP studs, Milling oil pump and the turbo. $8 to $12K. Adding new weight to a house with a bad foundation is a short lived dream turned pile of rubble.

Sad deal that it will cost them (its a 4.6 2v no less) and power isnt formed by this set-up.. and the number you just mentioned 9 nprice wise ) .. Thats why I stated ( in other video ) if you got money like that ( buy a race prep engine 7k ) and then slap what ever on to it ,another 5k ( simple and safe ) oh but we didnt do the trans yet so it keeps going the $$$$$$$$..

      Throw $1500 used ebay parts at it to gain a reasonable 30hp and call it a day. Like you said, shits going to start failing as soon as you put too much pressure on a system not designed for it. Old school Maverick seems so much easier to deal with on cheap power. But then it makes up for it on costly suspension to get it to handle anything close to modern. Take your time, keep looking for deals and answers. Got to get one of them moved? Seems the one that needs only the power would be the quickest out.

      Yeah depending the year 280-290 hp so on a used motor est 265-275-ish to be real, but the hp potential is way higher aluminum block ect its a good deal.. Hard to find in a good state but ideal... Just need a complete swap not in parts to make it work ( guessing )

    Something about turning cars to gain funds for the car you really want to build. I have yet to figure out how to turn cars. Who has the cash to buy them? Seems the most cash folks can come up with is grandma's $2000. So they get ripped off at buy here pay here loans. Can't build for the wealthy because of the $20,000 risky investment. Need to invest $8K and turn $15K. There is no market there. Turning $2000 for $6500 is where we are at? Really sucks but people can surprise you if we stay patient. Maybe you could do a vid on your perspective of turning cars to gain funds?

    How much horsepower do all mods make?

    • @bstfordchannel923
      @bstfordchannel923  Рік тому +1

      varies on cam ( stroke ) and head work... On stock block 400 maybe 475hp safe zone ( tq will be in the 400 also or very close )...The magic is in the tune, but if running a 2v ... You shoud change the valve springs ( cause the engine likes to rev ) and the driver will spin the motor ( even with stock cams ( not must but a thought )
      Each setup produce power diffrent i like the turbo ( my pick ) take negative energy and make it positive vs the others big injectors better maf and fuel set-up ( option valves and head studs ) you can make things happen with a stock engine tq will come in sweet.. Its the tuner thats going to make things happen ohh and your pockets
